Ally calls a cab because she is too upset to drive, she just wants to get out of there are go home. Ally holds in the tears until she gets into the back of the cab, and she falls apart. The cab driver asks if she is ok and Ally is only able to mutter, "I'm fine." She cries into her hands and cuddles into the seat. They finally reach her apartment and Ally runs into her apartment to avoid any chance to see Tommy.
Ally stops crying by the time she reaches her apartment, and anger replaces her sadness. She grabs a box and stuffs Tommy's stuff that he had left in her apartment, she doesn't want a single item of his in her space. She double checks and throws his box of stuff into the hallway. She doesn't care if Tommy gets it or someone else grabs his stuff.
After ridding her space of him Ally decides to metaphorically rid her body of him and hops into the shower. She stands under a scorching hot shower and scrubs her body almost raw. She stays in there until her hot water runs out. Ally dries herself off and puts on a pair of leggings and tank and crawls into bed. She fights back tears because the scene just witnessed shows Tommy isn't worth her tears.
In the morning Ally puts on a very severe black pantsuit and puts her hair up into a bun, she almost looks matronly. Ally goes to work and ignores the looks and giggles behind her back. Ally hears one of the secretaries mutter, "Look at her, she has no emotion, it is no wonder she is always cheated on."
