The AH person I would most like to meet IRL is…

I met three of my favorite AH people here in RL (and a couple of GB people too). They're all gone from the boards now. I wish I'd met Dr Mabeuse! I'm pretty sure he would be as cool in RL as he was here.

I think you’re right… I’m imagining now it would be a room full of awkward individuals sipping coffee and making bad jokes. 😅

A Zoom meet up would probably be the best bet, seeing as from what I can tell, the authors here are stretched across the globe.
I think it would be an awkward 5 minutes, after all the initial greetings.
Then I or someone would kick things off to get the mood and food flowing. LOL.

What the hell is "Zoom"???
I'm going to guess that it's a video-call type of thing.

Yes, we are scattered everywhere.

Hell, I've only ever talked to 2 other people from Ohio.

You know I’d link up in a heart beat! I’m not shy, I’ve met internet friends in person all over the place… had an old roleplay buddy from the UK even make the trip over to the east coast and crash with me for a bit! I thought she was nuts to be so trusting, but we had known one another for years… picked her up from the airport even!

If you’re ever over in Atlanta, hit me up, we can do a double date with the menfolk at Dave and Busters or something and make total asses out of ourselves. 😂

Since I’m here, I’d love to meet @NoTalentHack. I’ve been a fan for a long time now, I feel like we’d vibe expertly chatting about writing in a little cafe somewhere. 😌
Well now I want to drop by Atlanta too!

And wherever Seadog is as well :)

Hey, if you’re ever in my neck of the woods, hit me up. I’m… not at all social in the real world, literally, I detest people and petty social practices. 😂 …But you folks in AH are pretty chill cats.

Like the Mujahideen? Yikes! They wear stupid outfits, and besides, I haven't shaped my body at the gym for thirty years just to blow it up!

Maybe I'll sip from a Socratic cup for solidarity...

All your “grumpy” is just further convincing me you give the best hugs.

I had an author PM me and said that I come across as "asshole-ish"

I responded by stating that I simply "don't put up with dipshittery and phonies"
I'm guessing NCO? 🤣 If I didn't know better you wore a red shirt.

As long as y'all are OK with lots of guns and a dog that likes to jump and lick, then you'll be OK here at my house. LOL.

Depending on how things shake out with traveling and distance, I'm good with meeting folks.

Don't get your hopes up, dear. There's a good chance I'll survive. Unlike you nerds, I possess an exceptional tolerance for chemicals. My stomach has successfully processed substances that could have proved fatal to a blue whale.
I like... chemicals.

There's no solidarity in drinking poison if you live through it, Rasputin.

Well, at least I appreciate the heads up about the murder. That'll at least give me time to set up a life insurance policy. I want to make sure my family has something to remember me by...

When did this conversation turn so dark?. Sheesh, you go out for a couple hours and you people are threatening murder!

In the old days, there was an annual Litogether - an in person event for Litsters. It died, apparently, because there was no one willing to do the work of organizing it. There also used to be a 'Secret Santa' for Litsters, but between the lack of volunteers and the few who abused it, it too has died.

I count myself lucky in having met eight of my fellow Litsters in person.

I remember talk of the Secret Santa, but I was lucky enough to meet one fellow litster, it was wonderful.

Oh, yeah, I think I was here for one of the last secret Santa's. Now I'm trying to recall who it was I sent something to. I recall they were female and I sent a book. Grrr....I can recall song batting averages from a player 20 years ago and can't remember this. I almost want to say _Lynn...meh, my brain is fried.

I met two people from lit one a forum poster who is no longer here-and no, I had nothing to do with that-she also lived in RI and I told her I'd be set up at Terror Con that year and she stopped by my booth and we chatted for awhile.

The other was a long time reader I met in in NJ when I was down there for work, went to dinner with him and his wife, great time.

I think meeting online friends has got to be one of the most rewarding experiences. I'm still in touch with several of my firsts, I've got a few decades long friendships.

And aw, thanks for the shoutout @lovecraft68! I'm up in your neck of the woods to visit my life long real world besties pretty regularly, they're in central Pennsylvania, so chatting horror over coffee isn't a far off possibility at all. ☺️
