Unable to help herself, Tessa snorted a laugh at the mental image of Luke running past their neighbors in nothing but his birthday suit. Mrs. Larson, the super churchy lady at the end of the street who'd made no secret of her disapproval that they lived together unwed, would probably swallow her dentures at the sight.
As she looked at the plates of curry and rice on the table, she sighed. If she were being honest, Tess didn't want to keep doing this. But Luke was having so much fun, and she thought that it was doable so long as they kept to their rules. "Yeah, I know what it is." As Luke fixed himself a drink in the goblet, she added, "But please sit down before you drink."
That made him grin, an infectious expression that she couldn't help but mirror. He drank, that slow doped-up expression wiping away his grin. That doused her own smile as she ordered, "Tonight before bed, I want you to give me one of your best back massages."
