It was Thursday ladies' drink night, and Lorna had got home earlier from work just so that she could doll up a little. They said that girls dress up for other girls; well that was hardly close to the truth behind the way Lorna dressed. She was a slut, period. She loved how men complimented her, by telling her how beautiful she looked or just from how they ogled at her.

Even so, she had decided to put on a sweet, rather than slutty dress for this evening. It was an orange flair dress that ended about six inches above her knees. It wasn't that she was planning to go easy tonight. Flair dresses have always been more accessible, Lorna smiled to herself as that thought came to mind.

Well, until she discovered that both her phone network and her wifi (same company) was down. She needed access to her email to contact her colleagues who were joining her for drinks!

...

Lorna knocked on the door of the neighbour opposite from her unit. Frankly she had no idea who lived there, but she was hoping he or she had wifi.

Tommy had just gotten home from work, exhausted from a long day setting steel beams for a downtown high rise construction project. He'd showered and was just sitting down in front of the big screen hanging on the wall, ready to watch the night's hockey game, when he heard the knock at the door. That was odd.

What the fuck, the big man wondered, lifting his muscular, six-foot-two frame off the couch to head for the door. None of his buddies were coming over for the game tonight; he hoped to hell it wasn't the god damn Jehovah's Witnesses again.

He looked through the peephole, and his jaw near about dropped and hit the floor. A brunette woman in a red dress was knocking on his door, and for what reason, he hadn't the slightest clue. It didn't really matter.

He opened the door. "Yes? Can I help you?" he asked, trying to be as pleasant as possible. This woman was even sexier in the flesh than through the peephole. His eyes definitely lingered on the abundant curves of her impressive chest, though he was equally entranced by the stunningly beautiful face that topped such luscious curves!

Once the door opened, Lorna found herself looking up at the big frame of her neighbour - one she had definitely not met before. He wasn't someone who was forgettable.

His hair was wet and ruffled but she could tell he had slightly curly blonde hair. He had a towel draped over the back of his neck, and not a shirt on. Which meant his firm pec muscles, and hard abs were in full view. He didn't look like the type who went to the gym to work out. Perhaps his work involved physical duties, because he looked like he could lift something twice his weight. Easily.

In short, this was one neighbour Lorna wouldn't mind getting to know better.

But for now, she remembered why she had come by.

"Hi, I'm sorry to bother you. But I was wondering if you might have wifi at your place. Network's down," Lorna chuckled as she held her phone up.

Tommy smirked, and stepped aside to let her in, scratching his blonde hair as his blue eyes drank her in. "Uh, I'm not sure, let me check," he said. He shut the door behind her as she stepped inside, and he headed back into the small apartment to grab his own smartphone.

"Uhh, you know what, it looks like mine is down too," he said. "Maybe we have the same provider? I don't know too much about all that internet stuff. Hardly use it, really," he shrugged.

"I'm Tommy, by the way," he said, stepping towards her. He pulled the towel off his shoulders and draped it over a chair. "Big plans tonight, huh?"

"Hi Tommy, Lorna." Lorna said, stretching out her hand as he stepped forward towards her.

She glanced at his phone, and realise that they were probably having the same problem. She wondered if she should try to get wifi from some other place, or just try her luck and meet up with her colleagues downtown. The only downside was that they hadn't decided on a venue as yet. It was probably on her email.

"Looks like I'm a little out of luck then," Lorna said as both of them retracted their hands after a quick shake.

"Did you just move in, by any chance?" Lorna asked, as she found herself quickly scanning the interior. Tommy was a neat person; very neat for a guy. She also liked how he had used a big screen and a projector instead of a regular television. And he had hockey on.

She had more questions to ask now, with her curiosity piqued. But she didn't want to seem too overbearing at their first meeting.

"Sorry," he said, feeling a bit bad that he had let this mysterious, sexy brunette down.

"And, uhh, yeah, actually, moved in just a couple weeks ago," he replied. He looked around the orderly apartment; he really didn't have a whole lot of stuff, aside from the basics.

"I got a job welding on the new high rise going up downtown. The job is supposed to go for a good six months, so renting an apartment seemed like the best course of action."

He shrugged, moving to the refrigerator. "Of course, being new here means I don't know anything about what's going on. Looks like you do, though. Wanna show me around sometime? I mean, I'm sure you've got plans tonight," he said, "and I'm not exactly dressed for a night on the town," he laughed, motioning towards the gym shorts he was wearing. "Want a drink?" he asked, pulling out a beer for himself, and offering one to Lorna.

Lorna was right. Tommy wasn't holding a desk-bound kind of job, which could also explain why his demeanour was different from the guys she would usually meet in her social circles. In many ways, Tommy immediately became much more intriguing than anyone Lorna could expect to meet downtown.

She decided that she wasn't in a great hurry, and that there was always a good chance the reception would come back on.

And so she accepted his invitation, and took the can of beer he held out before him.

"Hockey? Who are you rooting for?" She asked, as she opened the can of beer.

Tommy had to smile as she took the beer and cracked it open, and asked about his hockey viewing habits.

"The Blues," he replied immediately. "I'm from St Louis," he explained. "I know, I know, we always make the playoffs and never seal the deal. It's a curse, or something. Worse than the Cubs in baseball," he laughed. He slid onto the couch, taking a drink from his beer and looking over at Lorna. The game was about to start.

"I can't miss a game," he said. "I even paid extra to make sure I get all the games, now that I'm out of town." He raised an eyebrow her way. "You don't exactly strike me as the hockey fan type," he said. He winked. "But I like surprises. So I guess you live here in the building, huh?"

"I'm not from here - born and bred in New York," Lorna said, pausing a little. It was common to get a negative reaction when she let on about where she was from, especially in these parts. It was as if she would have big city girl written all over her forehead.

"Yankees, Rangers, Giants, Knicks. In that order of degree of allegiance," she added.

"So what kind of girl did I strike you as?" Lorna retorted back cheekily, as she took a chug of the beer.

Tommy chuckled. "Well, you didn't strike me as a Yankees fan, but I guess I can forgive you for that," he said, winking at her and taking a drink from his own beer.

His interest in her, however, was suddenly much greater than his interest in the hockey game. He turned to her, looking her up and down, taking her in.

Damn it but she was just... impossibly sexy. This really couldn't be happening! Was this woman really in his apartment? In the middle of a cold, cold Cincinnati winter? Dressed in a flared little red dress? With tits like that???

He leaned back. "You strike me as a woman who is quite confident, successful, and independent. And single; partly because you don't want to be tied down to anyone right now, and partly because you haven't found anyone worth tying yourself up like that for."

He smirked and took another drink of his beer. He normally wasn't quite so brazen but the words just flowed from his lips before he could stop them: "of course, I wouldn't mind tying you up one bit..."

Tommy was frank and straightforward. Though not in the manner that was overbearing, or one of those big city types that always seemed like he was trying to psycho-analyse her. Nonetheless, his very last comment did betray a little about his motivations, to which she chuckled and took another sip of her beer.

"Are you offering yourself as a possible candidate then?" Sierra asked, raising one eyebrow slightly as she looked at him directly.

She had earlier found him checking her out a little more than their initial meeting at the door. She decided to return the favour, appreciating with each moment how well-defined his body was. And there was just something incredibly sexy about knowing that his muscles came, not from from lifting some stationary weights in a gym, but from doing actual physical work that counted for something. Not to mention, the way his gym shorts clung onto his thighs, and how she could make out some sort of a bulge at the front...

Tommy raised an eyebrow, and drained down what remained of his beer. He crunched the beer can in his big hand and chuckled. "Offering? Sure," he said, seeing the way the sexy brunette's eyes lingered on his body, particularly his crotch.

She was checking him out, and brazenly at that.

He found he kind of liked it.

"But I'm sure I'm not your type," he said, standing up to take his empty beer can to the trash bin. "Want another?" he offered. "I mean, it's not like you have to drive home, right? Or maybe something a bit stronger is more your speed?"

"But I'm sure I'm not your type."

Sierra mulled over this a little, as it made her think. It was true that she hadn't been with a man like Tommy before, but it didn't mean that there couldn't be a first. She wasn't sure what his comment meant though - did he find her too stand-offish or did he feel inferior to her? Neither scenario, however, appealed to her in particular.

"What do you have, that is stronger?" Sierra asked, finishing her beer and tossing it into the can from where she was. She wanted Tommy to know that she wasn't just a pretty face in a pretty dress.

"And, if you count yourself out from the start, that's just too bad," Sierra gave a little shrug.

Tommy had to smile at her as she tossed the empty beer can clear across the apartment into the trash bin.

"Well, I never count anything out," he said to her, winking as she looked at him over the back of the couch. "I just call them like I see them. You just seem way too... I don't know. Too perfect to be real," he said, shaking his head a bit.

"There's vodka and lemonade. That's what I usually go for when I need something a good bit stronger than the beer," he said. "Nothing fancy, you know, but it'll do the trick."

His eyes locked with hers across the room. There was just something about this woman that was quite entrancing. She was gifted in all the right ways: clearly intelligent, athletic, down-to-earth, and sexy as all hell. Obviously, far too perfect to be real. He had his guard up. Surely there was something wrong with her? Right?

Right now, though, he wasn't seeing it.

"I just call them like I see them. You just seem way too... I don't know. Too perfect to be real."

Sierra smiled to herself. A genuine smile. Even though she had hardly known this man, she could sense that this was a heartfelt compliment. A rarity in her line of work, and even in her social circle.

It was probably true that Tommy, like every other man, probably wanted to get into her pants at the back of his mind. But for now, it seemed like there might be something a little more than just that.

"I'll have the vodka, without the lemonade," Sierra said, deciding that she would allow Tommy to play host as she moved towards the screen. It was time for the face-off.

"A straight-shooter, eh?" Tommy said with a smirk. "Now you're talkin'. My kinda girl." He got a pair of shot glasses down from a kitchen cabinet and poured out the vodka, straight.

He took both shots and went towards Sierra, standing in front of the TV. They were about to drop the puck.

"Looks like the Blues are playing the Rangers tonight. Fancy a friendly wager?" he asked her, as he offered her the shot glass of clear, potent liquid, and raised his own towards her.

Sierra took the shot glass with an appreciative smile, before turning back to the screen. The Rangers - her dear Rangers - have been playing crap for the past year, to be honest. Against a surging Blues with a better record, she had her doubts.

But she would never pass up a chance to wager for her own team.

"Sure," Sierra said, turning towards Tommy and holding her shot glass up, waiting for the toast.

"You have a wager in mind?" Sierra had a twinkle in her eyes when she said that. She had a pair of Rangers panties somewhere, but she thought it was unlikely that Tommy would have something similar for the Blues. If she lost, she figured she could wear something like that for a week.

Tommy smirked, raising his glass. "Tell you what," he said, "how about this. If the Blues win, you have to come over here every night for a week, cook me dinner, clean my apartment, rub my back, whatever I say."

He winked at her. "Within reason, of course. Nothing sexual, obviously... Unless for some reason the stakes need to be raised," be said with a twinkle in his eye.

"And if the Rangers win, well, meet your new man-servant for a week," Tommy said, still holding the shotglass up.

"Deal?"

Sierra was a little taken aback. She had expected something milder, like drinking up, or maybe a dinner treat. But this proposition. Well one week was a long time to get to know a complete stranger. Sierra figured that Tommy must really want to get to know her. It was a sort of a compliment, she supposed.

She held her drink close to her, giving it some final thoughts. He was kind of cute, and it wasn't always bad to have a man around the house. Especially someone who had to take care of your every need...

Sierra held up her glass, and smiled. Then without further ado, she downed it. She took in a sharp breath with her eyes closed, feeling the kick before opening her eyes and looked back at him.

"Deal. This Russian Standard is good stuff, by the way," Sierra passed him her empty shot glass.

Tommy smiled and drained his own shot glass as she did hers, swallowing the sharp burning liquid down with just a mild grimace. He didn't normally take it straight like that, but some situations called for just such a drink.

"It is, yes, quite delicious," Tommy replied, taking her proffered empty shot glass, winking at her, and heading back towards the kitchen area, where he set the shot glasses on the counter next to the bottle of vodka. He grabbed a couple fresh beers from the fridge and brought them out to the living room area, handed one to Sierra, and cracked his open.

The game was on, on the TV. It was back and forth for the first few minutes.

"So how long have you been here in Cincinatti? Seems like too small of a town for a New York gal."

Sierra felt the first wave of warm flush through her body. It was normal for her, though it often belied the amount of alcohol she could take before actually feeling any real effects. Though as she turned to look at Tommy, she wondered if it was really the alcohol at work...

"So how long have you been here in Cincinatti? Seems like too small of a town for a New York gal."

Sierra pulled open her second can of beer, and let it sit in her palm.

"It is somewhat different from New York, but the opportunities here are aplenty too. The bank I worked for in New York sent me here to look after some investments," Sierra continued.

"I've only arrived a few months earlier than you have, so I'm still new to this city as well," Sierra walked slowly to the couch, and then settled into a corner, taking care to let her dress fall nicely so that she wouldn't crumple the pleats.

"How do you like it so far?" Sierra asked.

Tommy listened to her, taking a drink off his own beer and settling into the couch to watch the game with her... although admittedly, his eyes were on the woman in the sexy orange dress!

"Well, I have to admit I haven't gotten out and about very much just yet," he said, taking another drink. "I've pretty much just been working and taking care of the essentials... My job kicks my butt most days, so I tend to want to relax when I get home," he explained.

Just then, a fight broke out in the hockey game on screen! And a good one too! The two men had ahold of each others' jersies and were throwing haymakers!

Sierra leapt from her seat, forgetting that she was a guest in someone else's place - still barely more than a stranger.

"Come on! You're fighting like a wuss!" Sierra cheered the fight on, mimicking the jabs that the players were throwing at one another on the screen.

The fight went on for what was probably half a minute, before both players collapsed on the ice, having lost balance once the fight started to wear both of them down.

Sierra stopped short of swearing, but turned to Tommy, her face flushed from the excitement.

"I bet you could have fought better than that," she said, breathing heavily as she placed her arms on her hips, taking deep breaths.

Tommy was quite pleasantly surprised by Sierra's enthusiasm for the action in the game; he certainly hadn't expected her to jump up like that!

Her enthusiasm was infectious, though, and he found himself standing up and yelling at the TV as well!

He laughed at her comment, his eyes lingering on her body, her breathing heavy from the excitement and the exertion. Her breasts rose and fell with every breath, and he did his best to not let himself stare... too much.

"I was certainly known to get into a few scraps when I played back in the day," he said, winking at her, a devious glint in his eye. "Granted, it's been a while since anyone challenged me to throw down," he said, scratching his head. "But I'm usually the guy on the job that they go get when a little intimidation, or security, is required," he said.

"Granted, it's been a while since anyone challenged me to throw down. But I'm usually the guy on the job that they go get when a little intimidation, or security, is required."

Sierra looked at him, running her fingers through her hair as she pulled it to one side over her shoulder. She hadn't expected a proper response to her question so she was a little surprised that Tommy had given an answer.

"So should I feel intimidated then?" Sierra picked up her beer, and looked into his eyes as she took a sip.
