No-one could miss which door led to the Joker's room at the Bada Bing Club. It was painted in a garish array of colours, swirling out in a pattern from the central image, a picture of the Joker's calling card. Around the doors frame flashed hundreds of tiny red, green and blue bulbs.
Above the door, a camera set into the mouth of a plastic clowns face kept its neverblinking eye on the hallway outside.
Within, the Joker was examining a scale model of a portion of Gotham, spread out over a large table... centrepiece of which was a model of the Gotham Museum of Art and Antiquities...
"And then, she grabs the jewel, scarpers out through the window... or skylight... or whatever... drops it down the gutter pipe here to where I and Harley will be waiting, ready to collect, while she leads Batfreak and the Boy Blunder on a merry little rooftop catchase..." I explained, to Mo, Lar, and Cur, who were leaning over and doing there best to keep up. I danced the little Catwoman model across the rooftop, followed by models of Batman and Robin in my other hand.
"Kapow!, kersplat!" I hummed out, as I imagined a little brawl between the three models, while I escaped from the scene of the crime.
"Where will ya and Harley be waiting again, boss?" said Lar.
"In the Jokermobile, like I said" I said, nodding down to the small model car at the foot of the building, a minature of my own personnel vehicle - complete with flashing lights and realistic horn - which would be hidden in the shadows, ready for the getaway. I peered down closer, as I realised the models of myself and Harley were missing.
"Harley?" I said aloud, snapping up straight and looking over to where she was sat... playing with the two missing models. My ears caught "MMmm, kiss me snookum's!", "Ooooh, Mister J!", and several giggles.
"HARLEY!" I shouted again, and she quickly hid the models behind her back and looked round at me with feigned innocence.
I held out my hand, glaring at her. "It took me ages to paint those! Have you any idea how long it took me to get the shade of green right for my hair?"
I sighed. "Well, at least tell me you've made those kitten's nice and comfortable for when Catwoman get's here."
