Kayla smiled at that, chuckling at Aleister's insistence that he couldn't just let the two of them go once Lynndon came along. As if on cue, Lynn moved in his spot, calling out for her softly. Kayla turned to him, lifting him against her chest where he instantly relaxed again. His soft gaze focused on Aleister for a moment before he snuggled against his mother's warmth and resumed his nap.

"He's my happiness." Kayla said softly, her fingers coming through her son's sandy brown hair, pressing a kiss against his thick locks.

Aleister reached up to touch the boy's cheek lightly. "... He'll never know jus' how much we an' Marianne love 'im."

“I think that’s what hurts the most. Gale would have adored him.” Kayla said softly as Aleister gently stroked his cheek.

"Course 'e would 'ave. In fact, I don' think there's a 'would.' I think 'e does... Never met the man in my life, but from all I've 'eard of 'im, he'll be a loving father even from where 'e is."

"I am happy that Lynndon doesn't have to grow up here in this castle. He has more room to explore and grow in Inverness." Kayla said softly as Aleister insisted that Gale was still the proud father even in his afterlife.
