The Celeb Hotel

Sarah Michelle Gellar

Sarah smirked as David related the tale of easy-going Joss practically losing it. She could almost see it happening.

"At least there's always the gang," she replied, "I love the whole atmosphere of the show, because everyone knows each other, and all that..." she trailed off, realising that she almost sounded like one of those incredibly faked interviews, where the star or starlet gushes about their 'working environment'. She hoped that David would realise what she was really trying to say.

"You know how it is. Sometimes I long for the days when my only worry was how I'd look kissing you on camera," David said, and Sarah smiled wistfully.

"That was a lot of fun, wasn't it?" she asked, almost rhetorically.

"Great way to make a living." He smiled playfully.

"So what about you? How is everyone?"

He went to take another sip from his glass, and noticed it was empty. Damn, going down easy tonight. He set it on the bar for a refill.

Sarah watched as David finished off yet another glass.

"Hope you can hold your liquor..." she said teasingly, before replying to his question.

"Well, we all went to Nick's wedding - boy, was that fun - and Michelle caught the bouquet. So we've all taken to teasing her a little. There's the usual jokes... you know, we'll be in the middle of a take, and I'll say something in character, and then Nick or Aly will shoot back with 'Oh, why don't you just die again?' and, well, there goes the take..." Sarah smiled wistfully.

"But it's really good. Everyone's doing good, but I miss the whole crossover thing. This network change kinda screwed us up a little."

David Boreanaz

"Yeah, it did." He held up his new glass. "And yes i can." He smiled.

"It was nice showing up in Sunnydale once in awhile. Now I barely see you." He looked at her. "Or the others for that matter."

He took a sip - just a sip this time - from his drink. "I've missed you."

Sarah Michelle Gellar

Sarah smiled as David drank a little bit more.

"That's right. I forgot our little gang drinking sessions. The ones I always won, remember?" she teased, eyes sparkling.

"And I loved LA," she mused.

"Remember 'I Will Remember You'?" she asked, referring to the crossover that ocurred when Angel was human. The two had shot most of their scenes in 'Angel's bed'. "That was fun."

She looked at him when he told her that he'd missed her.

"I missed you, too," she said softly, "It's not the same without you," she added, leaving the 'you' ambiguous.

His eyebrows shot upward. "You always won? Suffering from selective memory, I see."

"And how could I forget the only episode that Angel was allowed to break the 'look but don't touch rule?'" He teased.

He reached out to brush a strand of hair from her face. "We should have kept in touch..."

Sarah Michelle Gellar

She glared playfully as he teased her.

"I so did always win. I wouldn't expect you to remember, since you were passed out on the floor by then. Although I do remember letting you win, once..." she trailed off.

"That episode was damn fun to shoot," she mused, adding, "Yeah, we should have kept in touch. I hate the whole 'it just got too busy' thing, but it's true. We should make a better attempt after this holiday," she said, noting his intimate gesture and smiling.

"Hey I was drinking whisky, y'know." He held up his glass. "It hit's a bit harder." He grinned and took a sip. "And for someone who let me win, you seemed pretty out of it just like me..."

He looked down, still smiling, before looking her in her eyes. He always loved her eyes. He realized he was staring, with a stupid grin on his face, and snapped out of it.

"Speaking of holidays, how long are you staying?"

Sarah Michelle Gellar

Sarah let out a mock-exasperated sigh as David let his thoughts be known on their 'drinking contests'.

"For your information, the point of a drinking contest is to outlast the other participants - which I did. It doesn't matter that I had a killer hangover the next day - I still won," she stuck her tongue out at him.

"Speaking of holidays, how long are you staying?" David asked, after a moment of silence.

"Well, we weren't exactly speaking of holidays... but I was thinking of staying about a couple of weeks or so. You?"

David Boreanaz

"Haven't decided yet. Couple of weeks sounds great though. If you can stand having me around that long."

"And I believe you said, 'We should make a better attempt after this holiday.'" He smiled at her, and looked down at her drink. "You know, you're barely touching that. I think I just found your secret to winning..."

Sarah Michelle Gellar

"Of course I can stand having you around, dim-wit," she teased.

"You know, you're barely touching that. I think I just found your secret to winning..." David said, and Sarah's eyes flashed.

She motioned to the bartender, ordered a shot glass of whiskey, and downed it upon it's arrival, enjoying the burning feeling as it travelled down her throat.

"I think you've forgotten about my capacity for alcohol, sweetie," she replied, putting emphasis on the last word.

He smiled as she slammed the drink.

"Give her another." He tilted his head back, and drained his glass. "Me, too," he said, placing the empty glass on the bar, smiling.

He enjoyed teasing her. He always had. She would get this little crease in her forehead when she glared at him. He loved it.

Sarah Michelle Gellar

She made a show of hyping up, stretching her neck and flexing her arms, and mock glared at him.

"Bring it on, bitch," she said, but couldn't keep the smile off her face.

Their next round of shots arrived, and Sarah shot a cursory glance at them before looking into David's eyes.

"You sure you're ready?" she asked.

"Ready for anything." He smiled, brought the glass to his lips, and downed it. He realized he was setting a trap for her. Ever since he moved on to Angel, his tolerance had skyrocketed. All those 'business' parties with network execs, and just blowing off steam with the cast.

And he never drank beer anymore. Ironically enough, for some reason wine goes right to his head. Three glasses and the rooms moving. But Jack...

He smiled at her again. She was beautiful when she was competitive.

Suddenly his smile slipped, and he forced it back in place. The realization had hit. I WANT her...

But this was Sarah. Pretty, sexy, and funny... sure. But also a friend. One of his closest in the business...

Sarah Michelle Gellar

Sarah downed her whiskey at the same time as David, and grinned.

She had discovered her incredibly high alcohol tolerance levels at the first Buffy drinking party, and had used them to her advantage ever since. The worst she'd ever gotten was a little hyper, but she didn't mind that - it was the same with red cordial, no big deal.

She watched as his smile slipped a little, and smirked.

"Little too much alcy-hol, big boy?" she ribbed.

"Uhh, yeah." He grinned. "You know me. I'm a lightweight."

Thankfully, the bartender placed two more shots on the bar. He looked down at them, and reached for his, suddenly not trusting himself to look at her. The usual 'rules' of this game were that you would give it some time between shots. But he quickly slammed the next one without thinking.

Sarah Michelle Gellar

Sarah raised an eyebrow as she watched David.

"Watch it there. Wouldn't want to be a raging drunkard by the end of the night..." she warned, trying to keep her tone playful.

She reached over for her next shot, and downed it, keeping her eyes on David, who seemed to be studiously avoiding her gaze for some reason.

David Boreanaz

He laughed. "Drunkards aren't so bad," he joked, studying his hands, and playing with the silver ring on his finger.

"So how are things going, socially?"

He tried convincing himself that he just wanted to know as a friend, but the little voice in his head that you might call conscience kept laughing at him.

Cristina Ricci

Russell and Alicia had accepted Cristinas invitation while David and Sarah decided to stay a while lonmger st the bar, and would probably come up later... at least she hoped they did...

Cristina lead them to her room, she stoped a while at the door and quickly opened the door, entering and pulling Alicia in with her... " Would you please close the door handsome " Cristina winks an eye at Russell.

Sarah Michelle Gellar

"So how are things going, socially?" David asked, after a pause, and Sarah laughed. He looked at her in astonishment.

"Is that the nice way of asking whether I'm seeing anybody? I never would have thought you'd resort to that..." she said, eyes twinkling.

"Me neither," he said, under his breath, while signalling for another drink.

Louder, he said, "Resort to what? I'm just curious." He smiled at her.

His conscience laughed at him, again. Damn, you're smooth, David. Where's all that charm women are always talking about?

Sarah Michelle Gellar

"If you say so..." she smiled.

"Well, you might have heard that I was dating Freddie Prinze Jr. That kind of fell apart about a month ago, so I've really just been hanging out with Aly, Nick and the gang," she answered truthfully, "And you?"

"Jamie and I are done. We're just keeping it quiet for now," he said. "You know how it is."

He was still looking at his glass. He held it up, and swirled the dark liquid in it slightly. "I think even Angel has more luck with women than I do."

Sarah Michelle Gellar

Sarah felt the mood drop instantly.

"So both of us are desperate and dateless, huh?" she asked, "Can you imagine the headlines, if the press found out that both of us were here?"

She could just see them. 'Buffy stars help heal broken hearts', and other equally cliched taglines.

But right now, she didn't much care. David was good company.

David

He smiled again. "You know the paper's wouldn't even use our real names in the titles. We'd be 'Buffy and Angel' to them."

He finally looked at her. "Well, we are here together." He held up his glass to her. "I say, screw'em all." He took the shot.
