Just say your mind to whatever topic is being discussed that interests you, and if they don't respond to you, don't call them on being cliquish or exclusive, putting people on the defensive isn't likely going to make them accept you.

Just accept that they don't know you yet, that they are more likely going to respond to someone they do know, unless what you have to say has merit to the topic and then pretty much 100% of the people here will comment on it only if to agree with you.

It takes time CK, you can't just show up in the lounge and expect an entourage of friends to be handed over to you. You gotta make friends with everyone here through time, good-will, and hard socializing work-just like it is in the real world.

Spend time in the China Pearl, or (Ahem) Club De Sade, or any of the lounge threads here, and chat amiably with people.

I think all places to a new member can feel the same. There are some here that are more popular, and participate more than others, but that doesn't mean a new member won't be welcome by most of them, especially if they post around a bit. Most everyone's pretty cool, and you'll soon find the places that suit you, and youre happy in visiting.

Hang in there, it'll be worth it.

I agree with what Alana said. When I first showed up, I started out in a room that was definitely not for me, but I kept banging my head against it, until eventually I branched out and found the people I liked and clicked with.
Its true, there is no welcoming committee, but if you find people and talk with them and all, eventually you'll find your place
