Ive never owned my own car. My sister's and I would take Dad's Lincoln 88. That thing was a boat. I used to joke that we needed binoculars to see the end of the hood.

Our first car was a 2000 Ford Focus. We were recently married, I was pregnant, and we needed anything. F'ing sale guy took advantage of our inexperience and LEASED us the damn car. We racked so many miles over the allotted mileage that we owed thousands!

Thankfully our parents came to the rescue - after scolding us for hours! What a time to be alive!

The great thing about learning on a big car - after learning to parallel park with the Impala, I can parallel park anything!

True! If you can parallel park a big rig...

I drive a 19 Impala and it's blind spots are huge! But I love it and I can parallel park that one easily!

It seems it’s all car talk in here tonight, so what was everyone’s first car?

Mine was a circa 1981 or 1982 Chevy Impala, like this:

It was a tank. We called it the boat. A friend’s father drove it into the concrete side of his house once and there wasn’t a scratch.

Chevy Cavalier. Just about the exact opposite of your Impala lol. Your car has so much character. Its lovely.

Thankfully winter isn’t much of a concern in Arkansas. My car struggled bad enough on warm, dry roads.

My first car was shared with my sister and was a manual 1994 Ford Escort LX. Was never crazy about it. She totaled it and the next one was a manual 2000 Ford Contour. Again, shared. Now that car was fun to drive and shifted so smooth! The next car which was truly the first car I ever owned was a 1995 Ford Explorer and I LOVED and miss that car!

I refused to learn on my parent’s car until about 2 weeks before my birthday. I was so nervous taking my test I killed it right away with the instructor in the car, lol.

I bought a new 93 Nissan Sentra (manual) as my first car, but the first car I drove semi regularly was a an old Lincoln Continental my best friend's parents loaned me. It was huge (like @LatinaCarmen1980 said) and I recall it had metal flip covers over the headlights.
