I'm half Italian, quarter Japanese, quarter Chinese (Cantonese). In order of fluency it's English, Cantonese, Japanese then Italian.

It's definitely unlocked different ways of thinking for me. I like to think it really expanded my worldview and philosophy.

It certainly has. I get that to a lesser degree from working all my career with people from somewhere else which is practically everyone in London. I mean, I've been here a while but I'm not from here.

Brummie is Birmingham (UK) accent. "Ir's bostin ere innit"
Derbyshire is East Midlands and it's "ey up mi duck"

A linguist! Danish and German can't be easy.

Danish was rough from a pronunciation perspective. I think the Danes pay their taxes by the number of consonants they don't pronounce. Grammatically it is a lot like English. German grammar is just beyond comprehension! Who puts the verb at the end of the sentence?
