The Cozy Corner

Mine was Hawaii. When my husband retired from the military he gifted me 2 weeks in Oahu. I had a friend with a timeshare so we had a girls trip.

It was a lot of fun but soooo expensive. I was super worried about it but hubby had a budget for me and it was so nice knowing what my limits were.

But the best part was he redid my entire kitchen while I was gone!
Wait, you got two weeks in Hawaii and he remodeled the kitchen while you were gone?

What did he do wrong? :ROFLMAO:

So shifting gears, I was thinking about this question as I was contemplating my next vacation / trip.

Does everyone have a "bucket list" / dream location that you would like to go to?
Have you been there already? If so, did it meet your expectations?
Mine was always to spend an extended period in Denmark. I am not sure what the pull was but I had it. I lived and worked there for 3 years and that is the reason I speak better Danish than Italian. It surpassed my expectations. Wonderful people and culture.

He spent almost 5 years in Iraq and Afghanistan. He hates sand. I mean, he really hates sand. Plus, at the time, he was going through PTSD therapy and being around a lot of people was a no no for him.

Trust me, I more than thanked him for the trip and the kitchen. 😈

I have multiple dream vacations planned and unless I win the lottery, none of them are happening lol
It doesn’t stop me from day dreaming though!

I wanna spend a couple weeks roaming Ireland and Scotland , in fall and summer

I want to visit Rome and Italy for the history and the food

I want to spend at least one full week, preferably two, at an all inclusive Caribbean resort with absolutely nothing to do but relax, soak up the sun and beach vibes and eat/drink whatever I want

I’m an expensive dreamer lol

I want to go to the UK some day. It's been first on my list for a very very long time.

Dream location would be New Zealand. 😍

I, however, don't even have a passport. 😥

I do not blame him!

UK, Ireland and Scotland for me as well. I have to pay homage to part of my ancestry.

Australia is a big draw for me. It will probably never happen, but I can dream about it.

My bucket list was the Crocodile Hunters zoo. Traveled there in 2019/2020 before Covid hit. Loved it! Wished I could have seen his family, but they were busy saving animals from the wildfire.

Biggest full bucket list item is to visit every National Park

But for a single trip? I want to take a cruise to Hawaii - easiest way to see both National Parks there

I was, and Carmen disappointed me I must say. I was not anticipating a benevolent Carmen to allow him to eat his lunch.
I think it was the undercurrent of revenge is best served cold vibe that allowed the lunch be consumed......why is it I hear Carly Simon singing Anticipation in the background?

I love ancient history...
Lucky enough living in Europe that Italy, Greece, Turkey etc are just a few hours away by plane so seen quite a few sites that are on my bucket list.

Always wanted to go to Cambodia to see Angkor Wat and lived that dream in my 20s.

Next up would be Peru... Machu Picchu, Cusco etc. Hopefully a long holiday and visit Bolivia too as want to see the Salt Flats.

Also Tulum in Mexico.

Would love to visit China to see the Great Wall and Terracotta Army. Also Persepolis and Samarkand. But wouldn't want to visit these countries atm and / or as a solo female traveller.

Oh, did you see the hot air balloons in Turkey? Istanbul is a frequent layover for us, so in a few years I want to spend a week there to break up the trip.

Tulum is absolutely breathtaking! You can feel the energy and the history! Highly recommend!

Tulum is an amazing setting but Uxmal is amazing.

That is a great list!

Having been to Tulum, it may not be a popular opinion, but I would suggest you can skip that. Machu Picchu is more impressive imo. Tulum has great views of the ocean, but the spectacle of Machu Picchu was so much better for me.
