The Dragon Queen

"I figured that after having been tied up for a week, some exercise would do me some good, but I will keep that in mind for when I dismount." The queen replied.

When he lifted off the ground she clung onto him tightly, but not not fearfully. She was in awe of how small everything looked when one was so high up in the sky. Truly he was blessed to have been given wings so that he could be free and fly throughout the world. Her hair flowed behind them as he flew, like a long silver ribbon, while Glinda hung limply from his claw, the poor girl out cold.

She thought about it for a moment. He had been out and about 400 years ago, so he may not have seen the construction of a couple things. "It looks largely the same, but the stone was reinforced a time ago, and an alchemy tower was built. There is also now two walls outside of the castle. One for battle, and one for citizens so that an encroaching army will be delayed while they retreat to the castle. You should see the royal purple and gold banner on the highest tower. The emblem on it is of a sword behind a shield."

The queen had said all of this out loud, despite suspecting that he could hear it being said in her head as well. It simply felt better for her to say things out loud in order to separate them from her thoughts.

He nodded as he listened to her describe the castle, finding it had changed some from what he had remembered.

Easy enough to spot.

He took it easy on the flight since he was carrying Glinda and Cassandra really didn't have a way to hold on properly. Otherwise, he would have really shown off for her. He did fly a little lower going down to treetop level. He varied his flight, moving between cloud level and tree level.

He did scare a few horses and travelers along the road from time to time, but paid no mind. They were soon within sight of the castle, but he didn't approach just yet.

Where shall I head?

Cassandra reveled in the feeling of the wind flowing past her, the power she felt on his back as he carried her forth. His scales were smooth and hard, but didn't chafe her legs as they went. The queen wondered to herself in Glinda would awaken during the flight, or if she would be passed out until they arrived. Hopefully it would be the latter.

She thought for a moment before answering. "We should land just where the forest turns into an open field in front of the castle. That is close enough to see, but not close enough for them to fire the balistas at us. Not that I think you would be hit, but it might make for a bumpy ride and I would hate to scare them more than necessary."

He gave a nod at her suggestion. wheeling away from the castle. It wasn't long before he spotting the clearing she spoke of, gliding towards it. He did slowly lower himself down to the ground, keeping Glinda a little higher so he didn't hurt her. Once on the ground, he laid her down gently before setting his foot down near her. He looked back at Cassandra for a moment, before looking back towards the direction of the castle.

However, it seemed that their arrival was not unnoticed. It wasn't long before the sounds of clanging metal could be heard over the sounds of the forest, making it's way steadily towards them. It wasn't long before the first group of soldier emerged with weapons drawn and spilling out to surround them.

Bells were heard in the distance, likely signally citizens to retreat into the inner walls of the castle. Her people weren't ones to take chances when it came to a large flying monster flying toward the city. The soldiers surrounding him were of varied disposition. A few of them were shaking slightly while others glared, steeling themselves to give their lives if need be. One with a large purple feather from his helm came riding up, right in front of Tritoch.

"Sir Dragon! You are dangerously close to city limits. If you continue to come closer, we will be forced to assume that you mean us harm. Please leave immediately, as we do not wish to engage you!" The voice was steady and respectful. It was apparent that whoever was behind the helm recognized that Tritoch was more of a danger to the city than they were to him.

Only the ones in the back saw Cassandra, their eyes widening in disbelief as they recognized the silver hair that flowed from her royal head.

"Sir Tumerin! It's princess Cassandra!" They looked confused, unsure as to whether to lower their weapons or keep them up.

The knight rode around to the side of Tritoch until he saw her, the knight's eyes widening in surprise. "Princess Cassandra... she's alive!"

Tritoch decided he wouldn't make a move or answer the soldier when he can to be addressed. After all, the reason he was here was on his back. It wasn't his place to make any waves just yet.

When she was finally seen, he grinned. He lifted his claw up for her to slide down into. He held her steady before lowering her gently to the ground. Once the princess was down to take care of bussiness, he turned his attention to Glinda. It surprised him that she was still out despite all of the noise. Using a single claw, he gently poked her side to wake her up.

Get up silly girl.

Cassandra lighted down onto the grass gracefully, turning her attention to the knight as he stared. Suddenly, he knelt in front of her with his fist against his chest in respect. "Forgive me, Princess Cassandra. We had mobilized troupes to search for you, but couldn't find not even a single silver hair. We're so happy to see you alive and well!"

In the background, Glinda stirred from the feeling of his claw. She blinked in confusion, wondering how she had arrived here before remembering why she fainted. Her eyes looked up at him once more and she felt weak. However, she was able to slowly get to her wobbly feet, looking around for her princess. I'm not a silly girl... she thought to herself.

The rest of the soldiers finally lowered their weapons, sheathing them and watching her. "That is alright Sir Tumerin. As you can see, I am well, as is my handmaid." She glanced over, seeing Glinda somewhat shaken but overall okay. "This is the great Dragon King Tritoch, and he was the one who wrestled me from a fate worse than death." The Queen gestured at him extending her hand in the air.

The knight looked at the dragon and remained on his knee. "King Tritoch? I can't say that I have heard your name before, but I don't doubt our princess's words. You have my thanks for coming to her aid when she needed help."

Tritoch watched the exchange, happy to see the warm reception of the, no his ladies. However, when the knight captain spoke of not knowing of him, it brought a snort of indignation for a moment.

It was the least I could do at that point in time.

He lifted his head up to look down upon the knight captain for a few seconds before looking around at the rest of the soldiers. Seeing that they were all settled down,he turned back to the knight as he lowered his head down to level with him.

I believe it's time for me to meet your King. Now is a good time, good sir.

The knight flinched, not from fear, but for a different reason. He looked away from Tritoch, averting his eyes away from Cassandra as well. "I... had hoped we could return to the city before discussing the king." His voice was slightly strained as he replied.

Cassandra's eyes widened, looking around at the other soldiers who shifted uncomfortably, each one of them having a look of either pity or sadness. She soon realized what they meant, though she didn't want to accept it. "Sir, I will not be moving from this spot until you tell me what has happened." Her voice shook, as did her body, her grey eyes fixed on the man.

"Please, m'lady..." he reached out to her, but she recoiled from him and leaned for support against Tritock's front claw, her hands reaching back to rest against his scales. Glinda found enough strength in her legs to move quickly to the queen, taking one of her hands and holding it with both of her own with a worried expression.

The knight looked down, withdrawing his outstretched hand before standing up. He met her gaze, his own eyes expressing pain and regret. "The king wasn't in good health when you left, and wasn't doing any better by the time you had been kidnapped. When he heard the news, he took a turn for the worse. It simply got worse each day until he drew his last breath not three days ago... I'm sorry, princess."

Queen Cassandra's eyes started to well up as she shook her head as if to deny it. Her own father had passed away as a result of a foolish prince's bastardly ways.

Tritoch was taken back for a moment by the news. However, it also didn't surprise him that such a thing had happened. He knew humans were such frail creatures, and this was just one of the many ways they could die.

He gave a little shake of his head for a moment before looking to Cassandra. This did change their plans, but he didn't not know for how long. He knew she would be needing time to mourn for the loss of her father, but he didn't know how long that would be. There was also a chance she would set it off for another time.

Either way, he said nothing except to bow his head in acknowledgement of the whole thing. After a moment, he lifted his head and looked to Cassandra for the next move.

It was at that point that she let her tears fall for him. She had accepted his death a time ago, though she thought he would have had at least another year. Glinda held her softly, holding Cassandra gently to comfort the woman. "It's okay, m'lady... he had a good life and he was very proud of you." The maid stroked her hair gently, the princess crying in her arms for a time.

The knight sent a few of the soldiers back to the city to let them know that everything was alright and that the princess had returned. Other than that, he simply remained silent, waiting for her to be ready to return to her home in the palace. It wasn't long before a few soldiers returned with a few horses for the princess and the maid.

Cassandra eventually straightened up, wiping the tears from her eyes and standing tall. "We will hold his funeral in three days time. We will also announce my betrothal immediately. It will be good for the people to hear of such joyous news in light of such sadness."

Sir Tumerin looked confused, looking at her as he tried to figure out how to address her orders. "Of course, my princess. But... who is it to be your betrothed? Did he not betray you?"

Upon hearing her decision, he nodded in approval. She was clearly a strong leader and would go far in uniting the land. Though she had planned on only getting two countries, she was well on her way to upsurp four countries into one.

He gave a little grin for a moment at the knight's confusion of her anouncement. He snorted and moved to sit back on his hindquarters, raising his head into the air. He took a moment and open his mouth and let go a roar of triumph. It clearly startled the soldiers, but he gave them little time to react.

That would be me.

Indeed, the soldiers almost jumped out of their skins at the unexpected display of power from him. His roar was so loud and intimidating, it instilled fear even in the hearts of braver men. Glinda also cowered a bit before giving him a small pout. She disliked that he felt the need to be so loud.

The knight instinctively put his hand on the hilt of his sword, releasing it when his mind was back in control of his actions. He was a bit shocked at the news, his eyes going to the dragon's enormous twin cocks before his face paled. It was obvious he was wondering how in the world they would carry on her bloodline without killing her in the process. His cocks were bigger than the princess herself.

He cleared his throat and nodded, not wanting to question things further. "Very good. We shall announce the betrothal of Princess Cassandra to Dragon King Tritoch. The birds shall be sent out to spread the news tomorrow."

She shook her head. "Crows. Tonight. I want every corner of the kingdoms to know before they go to sleep tonight, that they might dream or toss and turn with the news." Cassandra walked over to a horse and mounted it, taking the reins and looking down at the knight. "Let's return to the city."

The dragon gave a little chuckle as he noticed the knight's glance at his cocks before getting ahold of himself. He could just imagine what was going through the knight's little mind. Whatever the knight thought was besides the point, since that department was taken care of.

When Glinda gave him a pout, he reached out and patted her lightly on the head with the claw. No matter what she did, he foundt that it was cute on her. Just like a little pet.

When it looked as if Cassandra was ready and gave the order to move out, it seemed the soldiers were right on top of things. They quickly snapped to attention and hurried to fall into a nice little formation, marching toward towards the castle. Tritoch looked towards the ladies before falling in behind himself.

Glinda tried to wave away his claw when he patted her head, but there was little one could do when a claw bigger than your self wanted to pat you. She crossed her arms and moved to her own horse, getting up on it and letting out a huff.

Soon, the entire procession was at the city, and by that time, most of the peasants were out in the streets, returning from the evacuation. The knight led the procession, making sure that the road was clear for them, the other soldiers marching on either side of the princess in front and in back as well. Glinda rode behind the princess, body turned to the side in her dress to prevent her dress from riding up.

Seemingly for no reason other than looks, the large doors of each wall were big enough to allow the dragon to enter comfortably. The construction workers had simply assumed that the king had wanted the doors to be large and grandiose. However, if one looked closely, there were carvings in the door depicted scenes from different wars and events. One of the scenes near the top of the first door was of three dragons and two kings raising swords. It seemed as though at least in the royalty, the history had been recorded and passed down, though the peasants and most of the court were ignorant of what it meant.

As they rode throughout the city, most had a mixture of fear, excitement, and awe on their faces. It was only natural to be afraid of a large dragon when one hadn't seen one before. However, the joy the people felt upon seeing the princess unharmed was enormous. She was much loved by the peasants, the people waving and cheering as she passed. The Queen waved and smiled at them, as though they were simply in a parade.

Some of the children ran on the side of the procession next to Tritoch, trying to get a better look at him, the kids absolutely mesmerized by his size and magnificence.

Walking along behind the soldiers. Tritoch held his head high. He always felt so much superior to the other races, and now he was showing just how much he was. His wings stayed folded against his back, but it only added to his majestic figure. His scales gleamed in the sunlight, a beautiful sight to see.

He noticed the great carving on the city gates, a little smile to his face. Though it also saddened him a bit in knowing that while his and his brothers achievement was memorialized, such events were not being passed down for others to know. No matter, that was something he had planned on changing as well.

When the kids came running up to him and around him, he lowered his head down towards them. He did occasionally blow a little hot air at them, making them scream playfully and run. However, they soon came running back and running their little hands over his scales where they could.

The queen glanced back at him, amused at the way the children squealed and giggled as he humored them with a couple of hot breaths. Obviously, they had never seen someone so fantastical as him. Dragons were not as commonplace anymore, or at least the majority of them were content to simply keep their distance, it seemed.

After a while, they made their way to the actual palace gates, a beautiful platformed staircase leading up into it. The Queen dismounted, Glinda following suit as the knight helped each of them off of the horse. Glinda patted down her dress and quickly went to the Queen's side, obviously wanting to be near in case she needed additional comfort.

Cassandra turned to Tritoch for a moment before gesturing for him to follow. "I'm afraid your current form won't do for entering the palace, and I will have to ask you to diminish your magnificent stature." She said it in a rather matter-of-fact way, not necessarily worshiping his proud body, but being respectful nonetheless.

He gave a little snort for a moment at her astute observation of what he would have to do. He already knew he wouldn't be able to move around in the castle, but there was only so much he could say instead. Giving a little smirk for a moment, he glanced around at the gathered crowd for a moment. He had no problem with shifting in front of them, but he was pretty sure they were going to see something they did not want to see.

He was silent for a few moments before he motioned to the knight captain to come closer with a claw. The knight complied, stopping in front of him.

"Sir Tritoch?"

Give me your left gauntlet.

The man was confused by the dragon's request, but quickly pulled off his gauntlet and placed it over the upturned claw. Tritoch motioned for the knight to move back. The dragon's body rippled slowly as he began to change and grow smaller. This time he decided not to choose the same female form as before, but rather a male form. He stood nearly seven feet tall, and gave everyone an eyeful of how well endowed he was. It was just a minor adjustment, but he decided not to scare anyone by having two cocks this time. There was gasps and mutters before he shifted the gauntlet as well, clothing himself in the same outfit as the knight captain was wearing.

"Ready to go my queen."

Cassandra watched, curious as to why he needed the gauntlet as well. Though, she suspected that he might use it to form some kind of clothing as she saw him shrink. She wasn't expecting to see him in a male form, though, her eyes surprised as she gazed upon him. Her eyes flicked downward and back up, noticing that he had chosen one cock today instead of two. Cassandra wondered if it was simply for the court's benefit.

When Glinda saw him transform, she saw his cock and immediately covered her eyes. It was already burned into her mind, but she didn't want her eyes to linger on his nude form, improper as it was. Her cheeks were red, the woman quickly turning away until he was fully clothed once more. Sighing in relief, she relaxed a bit.

It was with much grace that Cassandra approached him, resting her hand on his arm as they started up the staircase, Glinda trailing behind. They made quite a couple, the seven-foot-tall man with devilishly good looks and red eyes, and the silver Queen, her beauty unmatched by most. Already the knight had sent a runner to the messenger birds, crows starting to leave a nearby tower, flying in different directions with little scrolls attached to their legs.

They moved into the castle, a lot of nobles congregating in the reception area to see if the news was true, whether the princess had indeed returned unharmed. Some of them were secretly disappointed, having wanted to make a grab for power themselves, while others were simply grateful to have the stability she brought to the palace.

He smiled for a moment as she came to him, laying her hand upon his arm. His red eyes looked over the nobles as the couple walked past, taking in everything. He did wrinkle his nose for a moment at the stench of close bodies, picking out the ones that either had not bathing or were sweating a bit due to the next turn of events.

As the approached the thrones, he stopped for a moment in front of them. The seat of human power. He stepped forward, taking a seat in the King's chair. His hands laid upon the armrests as he waited upon Cassandra to sit next to him.

"Four days. The wedding will be held in five days. Spread the word."

He knew they could have held it soon, but he wanted to give the King Kaleb time to hear the news, and rush to see it happen.

The nobles gasped and some gave him narrowed eyes as he sat in the King's chair, wondering what gave him the right to sit there, especially since the previous King had passed away so soon. However, Cassandra went to him and kissed his hand before sitting in her own chair, crossing her legs regally as Glinda stood back with the nobles. They grumbled when they saw that he had her approval, some of them simply looking at him curiously.

What he said next shocked the court, the room erupting in chatter and noise. They hadn't heard yet that she was betrothed to him, and didn't know how to react to it. Though, they were all aware of his status as a dragon, so none dared to outright question him. Some of them wondered if he had brainwashed their Queen, or was blackmailing her in some way, though some were more concerned about the fact that they had to throw a grand wedding in only four days.

"Indeed, he speaks truly. I want every king and queen invited. I think they will want to see me alive and well with their own eyes." She sat straight, her grey eyes looking over the nobles. To them, it seemed like she was somehow more mature, less carefree as she had been before she had left.

He chuckled at the reactions from the various nobles in response to the plans they had laid out. He was quiet for a few moments before lifting his hands to clap them together.

"Well? It seems that if preparations are to be made for a royal wedding, then you need to get started now."

He doubted the nobles would do any real work to get the ball rolling. However, he was expecting them to have some sort of tributes ready by the wedding. He stood up from the throne, giving them a motion to get out of there.

"I am quite sure you all have your own things to do, other than stand around. Now go."

He gave a little smirk for a moment as he noticed most of the nobles were shocked at his actions, staring at him. He finally just opened his mouth and let out a bellowing roar, echoing around the hall. A few women screamed in surprised before it was like organized chaos as the nobles and castle staff tried to get out of each other's way to start preparing.

Glinda retreated quickly over to the thrones to escape the throng of people running around like chickens with their heads chopped off. She looked a bit pouty, again not particularly fond of his use of such a loud voice for the sake of it.

Soon the room was empty, all of the nobles and servants setting to work in the kitchens, outskirts of the castle, and the ballroom. There was simply so much to do that it made most of the servants' heads dizzy. However, the lead servants were the generals of the army that they commanded, the few of them ordering groups of servants to different tasks. At the head of all the servants was the king's butler himself, Cedric Vermillion. He was in his thirties, the job having been passed to him for generations. Glinda happened to have a bit of a crush on him, the woman eyeing him as she saw him retreat with the rest of the servants.

Cassandra strummed her fingers on the throne. "Do you think four days will be enough to impress our guests?" she asked softly, her face thoughtful as she looked to him.

After the chaos finally settled down, he sat back down in the chair. He hmmed for a moment as he looked over at Cassandra for a moment at her question.

"Well, you might say this is my first royal wedding. I am a little behind on what all exactly will be planned for the wedding."

He looked over at Cassandra for a few seconds before grinning softly.

"What all will be planned for our wedding?"

She smiled and looked over to him, "Well... There will be a grand reception so that guests can mingle and introduce themselves or pay respects to the couple. Of course they will all be expected to bring presents to appease us and curry our favor. Snacks and champagne will be served, as well as a grand feast later in the day. The next morning, we will hold the ceremony in the cathedral, a long-winded sermon before we can kiss and be pronounced married. Speaking of which, I need to remember to have some rings fashioned, or perhaps my father had some rings set aside for the occasion..." The Queen looked a bit sad for a moment, Glinda coming near and patting her shoulder comfortingly.

Cassandra smiled gently and nodded, "After that, the rest of the day will be like the first, merely loitering around and playing the game of politics. However, I may request some kind of performance so that there will be some decent entertainment, at least. That night, you and I will be expected to consummate our marriage." Her smile was now a bit more of an amused one, knowing that they had already completed that step.

"And then the grand ball!" Glinda piped up, eyes a bit wistful.
