Re. the oil. The straits aren't closed. That is not to say that transit is without risk, but not closed. The US Navy is attriting the Iranian marine assets post haste. The biggest loser here is China, they are buying Iranian oil at the rate of 1.5 million bbls/day.
Panic driven speculators are going to drive oil prices up temporarily on the spot market but that won't last long and it's like playing musical chairs on the commodity market, a few of those speculators are going to take it in the shorts.

At 3:50 pm est.... it was announced that the straits of Hormuz were closed, now this is early reporting "fog of war" figured in. But the ship transponders are showing no shipping traversing the straits they are holding at station just out side of anti ship missile range..... add in the fact that no insurance company is going to underwrite any shipping during hostilities. Depending on how long the Iranians can threatened shipping in the straits or when the Iranians begin to sink commercial oil tankers oil may very top out at 300 a barrel... also the Iranians have struck several oil refineries and shipping infrastructure of their cowardly neighbors.... damage not known at this time...

What has at least at the present not materialized is the "sleeper cells" in the US, that being said apparently there is a group of saboteurs on the aircraft carrier Gerald Ford... they have been plugging up the sewer system on the ship using mop heads, rope, broom heads, seets ect.... and the catapult is fucking up as well...
You'd think the Navy would have ways to screen out saboteurs.
