If there was no investigation where did DOJ get all those files from?
The files are from the investigation of Epstein himself, now dead (almost certainly at Trump's instructions). They are not from any investigation into the action of any pedophile visiting pedophile island, or any pedophile house owned by Epstein. The only reason the DOJ is redacting 'Don T' is to protect him.
