The Freakshow

Eric

Smirking a bit about the drunk who got what he had coming to him, my attention moves back to Katrina who was slowly wrapping her skirt up. It could of been my imagination, but she seemed to purposly be doing this slow so that I could get a nice look before she had re-covered herself.

"Really sorry about that," I spoke up, feeling like someone should apologize to her about the mans actions. "Some people are just jerks to those who are.... different." I added while stepping towards her once again.

Katrina basicly responded with telling me that there was no need to apologize and that she was used to the occasional smartass who came around, although I wasn't sure if she was telling the truth or trying to hide it from me. She seemed like a strong woman, so it's possible that the comments did roll off her back. Still, it bothered me that someone like her should have to deal with that just because of her appearance.

"The name's Eric, by the way." I inform since she must be wondering who this person hanging around her tent was. Had actually taken a couple minutes earlier, while she was busy, to see what the other performers were doing, but kept finding myself coming back here before the crowd would die out.

Thad:

You see a bit of disappointment in my eyes as I listen to you turn down my offer and even more when you say that you won't disturb me for long.

Quietly, "Very well Jodie. It's your choice of course. Too bad that you'll have to leave so soon though. I was truly looking forward to your company.
Oh, I didn't answer your question did I? I'm sorry, the waitresses arrival you know.
Actually, yes I'm brand new in town. I'm a member of the "cast" at the carnival that's just set up just outside the city limits.
I work in the "Adults Only" sideshow as a proformer."

A brief pause as this sinks in then I continue, "What do you do for a living Jodie, if I'm not prying that is?"

Katrina

"It's my job," I simply say, thinking about all the jobs that would be near impossible to have, because of her appearance, all reception openings, any job with a uniform, heck any job where looking nonsexual was important. It was this, or a stripper, or a hooker.

"This job is clean, I meet a lot of interesting people and hopefully dispel some myths." I can feel his eyes and glance at the watch on my wrist. "I get an evening break to wash off the grime and ready myself for the next session." I stand up slowly, "Care to help me? I have trouble reaching my back."

Jodie

Jodie listened to Thad’s voice as he accepts her refusal.
She realised that he sounded disappointed and looked away quickly feeling guilty for brushing off such a friendly offer.
Still she told herself she could not begin to explain how she was wary of feeling … indebted … to any guy, much less a stranger.

"Very well Jodie. It's your choice of course.
Too bad that you'll have to leave so soon though.
I was truly looking forward to your company. “

Still she remains silent, merely smiling at him as he continues:

”Oh, I didn't answer your question did I?
I'm sorry, the waitresses arrival you know.
Actually, yes I'm brand new in town.
I'm a member of the "cast" at the carnival that's just set up just outside the city limits.
I work in the "Adults Only" sideshow as a performer."

Jodie tries to conceal the surprised look on her face.
She had always considered herself broadminded and worldly wise, but had heard many fantastical rumours about the show, which had evidently just come to town.
She had read the flyers that had been brought into the club:
It was certainly the talk in the bar where she worked!

Unable to resist, her eyes moved curiously over the man sat opposite her, wondering what exactly his … job… was… wondering what kind of performance was he involved with?

Jodie was sure that he noticed the curious look she gave him, but was relieved that he did not comment.
The silence between them was strangely companionable.

"What do you do for a living Jodie, if I'm not prying that is?"

His query came finally as he seemed to eye her with equal interest.

”I waitress… sometimes in one of the diners… more regularly at “Mikey’s Bar” at the other side of town.
It’s not brilliant, but it’s a living… “

She shrugged dismissively.

”There’s a pretty regular clientele … you get to know them easily enough.. and tips can be good if u get some out-of-towners throwing there cash about… I’m on the late shift tonight… 11 pm onwards.. “

Finally giving way to her curiosity, Jodie enquired lightly…

”Errr..um… what time do you start.. umm… performing…?”

Her eyes met his … they held many questions, she would not presume to voice, yet.
Despite her determination to keep a distance between herself and this strange man she happened to be sharing a table with, she was intrigued by his polite, easy-going manner, even more so than his strange job…

Thad:

After glancing at my watch, "The first show is 8PM and the last is at 10:30."

A pause as I take a sip of the water on the table and I continue, "Are you curious or interested Jodie?"

I remove my wallet from my jacket pocket and take out a pass to see the "Adult ONLY Sideshow of Sexual Freaks", as is printed on it's face. Turning it over I quickly sign it "Thad" and reach across the table holding it to you.

"If you are here's a pass that's good for as long as we're in town. Please come as my guest, if you wish of course. I understand it's not something everyone would be interested in Jodie."

The waitress arrives with your drink and sets a small salad down for me, along with a small loaf of hot bread and dish with butter patties.

"Would you like some of this fresh bread Jodie? It does smell delicious. I do love fresh, hot bread's smell and taste."

Stats: PD (short for Pussy/Dick)
5' 11" (lovely long legs)
9" cock when hard.
cunt where asshole ought to be (grape sized clit)
Asshole where balls ought to be (balls under arm pits)
Have great sex, either way....

With the tent finally empty, i zipped my red shorts back up and then laid down on the sofa next to the little wooden table that i had been standing on to show off my sexy assets. I was looking up at the top of the tent and wondering if someone might be coming in with a $200.00 ticket stub. Instead of justing looking then, I close the tent flaps for 30 minutes and we can get it on.... I got to thinking about that couple that paid $400.00 last week to be with me for 30 minutes. I smiled to myself and began to slowly stroke the outside of my red shorts to feel my monster cock grow a little more.....

Taking a moment to think about what she said, it brings a new level of respect for the people who work here. Had never really thought about it that way. Guess these sideshows not only help to make more awareness of these people, but also educates a few customers. Gotta admire that in a person.

She then asks me for help washing off any grime from her back that she might miss. My eyes follow her as she slowly stands and awaits my responce. Coming out of my stupor, I respond quickly "Sure! That is, I'd be glad to help in any way that I can." Smiling a bit at my eagerness, Katrina leads the way to where we can begin cleaning her up.

Katrina

I lead him to my private dressing area and lift an old fashioned tub off a shelf and put it on table. There is a pitcher which I remove, a soft natural sponge, and a large basin. I pour the water from the pitcher into the basin, add a few rose petals and other things and remove my skirt. I can feel his eyes as I dip the sponge in the basin and slowly wash my breasts one at a time. I run the sponge lower, over my smooth tummy, feeling water trickle down between my legs. I hand him the sponge and using a small towel pat my front dry. I turn towards a mirror, clip my hair up and with my back now facing him. I can see him approach in the mirror, and with a delightfully naughty thought in my mind I begin caressing my slick pussy lips. I know he can only guess what I'm doing as he can only see from my waist up in the mirror, but my hand is obviously between my legs. I hear him gulp as he begins washing my back.

"The first show is 8PM and the last is at 10:30."

Jodie nods and her eyes meet Thad’s.

"Are you curious or interested Jodie?"

She blushes as she realises that now she is. She is especially curious about Thad’s role in this… show. She watches Thad take out his wallet and then sign a pass.

"Adult ONLY Sideshow of Sexual Freaks",

Oh God .. what kind of performers would she see there.
She ran a curious eye over Thad’s body, wondering what was supposed to be “freaky” there … as far as she could make out he was very normal and very masculine.

"If you are here's a pass that's good for as long as we're in town.
Please come as my guest, if you wish of course.
I understand it's not something everyone would be interested in Jodie."

Jodie accepts the offered ticket and smiles.

”Thank you, Thad … I might just pop along and see what all the talks been about… “

She answers lightly.
He was in a sexual freak show, nothing unusual with that she told herself … looking at him, his large body folded under the table, his legs occasionally brushing her long legs within the confines of the booth, Jodie admitted to herself that she could see him as a sexual performer for sure, but as for the other … she blushed slightly and smiled as she tucked the ticket into her bag.… her reaction was all but lost as the waitress came with their order.

They nodded their thanks as she reached for her coffee, wrapping her hands around the comforting warmth of the steaming cup, Thad enquired…

"Would you like some of this fresh bread Jodie? It does smell delicious.
I do love fresh, hot bread's smell and taste."

Jodie reached over and tore off a piece of bread, without thinking.

”Mmmmmm fresh bread, fresh coffee…. Lovely aromas… “

She bit a piece from the hunk she had pulled from the loaf and tasted the warm softness of it.

”Mmmm you’re right… it’s good…”

Her grin was friendlier now.
Despite what she had learned about his job, Jodie still felt the guy opposite was just naturally generous.
She had had no qualms about accepting a free ticket.
She could never have justified parting with her hard earned cash in order to go see him, no matter how much she wanted to... and she did want to... she was very... curious...

They sat in companionable silence.
Jodie finishing the bread, handed Thad a card;

”Mikey’s Bar”

”It’s a pretty lively place … I work there anything from 3 – 6 nights a week … it’s a good place to go if you’re strange in town and want to make friends… “

She informed him, telling herself that she was not trying to make sure she saw him again soon.
The fact she worked there was coincidental!

Jodie glanced out of the window, leaving him to enjoy his meal without her scrutiny.
She held the spoon she had been toying with in her hand.
She had been drawing circles in the froth as she talked, unable as yet to drink the scalding liquid.
She flicked out a tongue to lick the chocolate off the metal…she always liked the indulgence of the topping before she got to the more adult coffee beneath.

She turned her attention back to the man opposite, only to find his eyes meeting hers as if he'd been watching her or merely happened to look up at the same time.

... damn he was good looking... She thought to herself, then reminded herself instantly that she was "off men" and this guy wasn't going to be here for long anyhow...

She dropped her eyes quickly and picked up her coffee taking a first sip.

Thad:

I ate quickly to have more time to enjoy Jodie's pleasent, very pleasent company. It'd been quite some time since I'd enjoy simple female companionship no matter how casual. Generally I only spoke with those not in the show during proformance time and that was business.

Now finished I spoke again as I slid the plate to the edge of the table and picked up the menu again, "Jodie, at least have a dessert to go with your drink.
By the way did you say that you went to work at 11 tonight? If so I just may take you up on the invitation to visit Mike's, if you'd like that is. I don't wish to seem pushy or intrusive just because you were forced to share a table with me.
Tell you what, if you have a dessert and want me to come to Mike's you can buy me my first drink. How's that? Then there's no reason to feel obligated for having dessert is there?"

I hold the menu so we both can see it as I smile across at you and look into your lovely eyes.

Jodie

"Jodie, at least have a dessert to go with your drink.
By the way did you say that you went to work at 11 tonight?
If so I just may take you up on the invitation to visit Mike's, if you'd like that is. “

She smiled with pleasure, realising that she really liked the idea of him spending more time with her … “steady” Jodie corrected myself… she liked the idea of him finding some friendly place to have a drink where she just happened to work…!

”I don't wish to seem pushy or intrusive just because you were forced to share a table with me."

Jodie opened her mouth to tell him that he was not being pushy at all… but he continued with a mischievous grin:

”Tell you what, if you have a dessert and want me to come to Mike's you can buy me my first drink.
How's that?
Then there's no reason to feel obligated for having dessert is there?"

She blushed slightly. He was too damn perceptive!
But at least she was glad that she hadn’t offended him by her earlier refusal to eat with him.
She looked at him considering his proposition and grinned in return.
Hell she had so many drinks riding at “Mikey’s “ she could afford to stand him any number of rounds.
On nights out she had found that guy’s were generous about buying her drinks, but less forthcoming with the cash tips.
They were a good group though … Thad should find some interesting company and he would sure prove popular with the gals… no.. that thought did not make her feel jealous…
Unable to convince herself of her lack of interest in Thad, Jodie wisely gave up and turned to look at the menu Thad held out between them.
As she steadied the menu, she felt their fingers brushing accidentally, but focused determinedly on the tempting list as she agreed to his proposition.

”Deal!..I’ll stand you a couple of drinks, Thad… I think that’s very fair… “

Her tone is measured and reasonable, but catching his look again she is unable to hold back the warm look as she adds softly.

”I’d love to introduce you around…. Hopefully you’ll enjoy your time here with us… “

Finding it impossible once again to keep herself "in check", Jodie turns quickly back to the menu before announcing apologetically;

”It’s got to be chocolate fudge cake… I haven’t had that in ages… “

Jodie sees Thad’s teasing expression.

”I admit it… amongst my many vices, I’m a chocoholic!”

She giggles, feeling strangely at ease with him and, despite her efforts, strangely drawn to his unassuming warmth.

Thad:

I smile at the 'deal' and when you admit to being a chocolaholic begin to laugh as I reach into an outside jacket pocket. Still laughing quietly I pull out a bag of Hersey's Kisses and say, "You too huh? Well there's nothing wrong with that as long as you are diabetic and brush regularly." Then I laugh more heartily as I signal the waitress.

Laughing still and trying to stop because it so silly, that wasn't really that funny, but just struck me as such, I manage to order your cake and a slice of French apple pie for myself.

Using a napkin I dry my eyes and finally get myself under control," Thanks Jodie. It's been awhile since I laughed like that, silly as it was. I needed that."

Sitting back in the chair with a long sigh I'm again taken and impressed by how lovely you are and how luscious what I can see of your body is. . . and again there a twitch beneath the table as I briefly imagine things that will probably never come to pass.

Jodie

"You too huh?
Well there's nothing wrong with that as long as you’re not diabetic and brush regularly."

Jodie joins in with Thad’s laughter eyeing the secret stash of chocolate.
She lets her eyes rest on him in open appraisal.
Her mind runs riot as she warms to him still more.
A good sense of humour … a natural, but sexy laugh… man this guy was going to take some resisting….

Again Jodie watches as Thad effortlessly summons the waitress’ attention and orders her cake and a French apple pie.
She watches in amusement as he struggles to get control, her own mouth now curved in an endless smile after having been drawn into sharing his laughter.

”Thanks Jodie. It's been awhile since I laughed like that, silly as it was.
I needed that."

She nods only wondering fleetingly why he wouldn’t laugh like that more.

”I know what you mean … life isn’t always a bundle of laughs is it…?”

She comments softly, thinking briefly of her own situation and forgetting her intention to maintain a friendly distance… after all.. distance was relative and…

Her thoughts are stopped by the long look she sees Thad give her.
It makes her flesh tingle and brings a flush to her entire body…

”Do you have a… girlfriend… someone special…?”

The words are out of her mouth before she can bite them back.
Shit! Yeah Jodie.. so distant… impersonal!
She berates herself, but covers quickly.

”I was thinking it must be tough … travelling around a lot … to… get involved… unless she travels with you…?”

She looks up then, her eyes curious, yet serious.
It was the first time she had considered the possibility.
Jodie had had enough of being the other woman and did not want to be drawn into another triangle, no matter how temporary or how unlikely that actually was.
Stupid.. this was just coffee and cake…. !

Changing the subject quickly, she babbled on.

”I’m surprised though… aren’t there a lot of laughs in your job… performing .. well… is it a fun life… or over glamourised… ?”

Thankfully the cake arrived.
She dug into it pleased of the distraction.
She was making a fool of herself, she was sure!

Thad:

"No it sure isn't a bundle of laughs, but then you get one like that and it seems to make it all okay until the next good laugh comes along," I say with a smile, right into your eyes.

"Nope. No one special in the show or travelling with me and you're right they'd just about have to do that for any relationship to last. Long distance ones aren't generally enough for most people."

"It has it's moments but after awhile it's the same questions, the same comments just the faces change and the town so it can actually be a bit dull sometimes."

A bite of pie and sip of my milk. "Mmmmmm..."

"How's your cake? Good?"

I smile at your nod as you chew a bite and sip your cappuicino.

"When we finish want to take a stroll to help me walk off my supper or do you have things you need to do?"

Again I can help seeing what's sitting right in front of me and wondering and again the wondering causes a 'twitch' so I change what I'm thinking. Can't let that get out of control in here.

Jodie

"No it sure isn't a bundle of laughs, but then you get one like that and it seems to make it all okay until the next good laugh comes along,"

Jodie smiles realising that he too values the “laughs” in life and wonder why they are rare for him. She looks downwards avoiding the intense look he gives her.

She is surprised that he admits that he has no one special and realises that she is relieved… why that should be she can’t fathom!

”Long distance ones aren't generally enough for most people."

She agrees knowing that there are many forms of “unsatisfactory” relationships if you’re stupid enough to let yourself get into them.
Deciding to give herself a break she focuses on Thad’s comments about his life as a “performer”,

"It has it's moments but after awhile it's the same questions, the same comments just the faces change and the town so it can actually be a bit dull sometimes."

Absent-mindedly she licks the spoon, her tongue curling round the gooey chocolate.

"Mmmmmm...How's your cake? Good?"

His question brings her back from her speculations about Thad’s … “performance” and what it could possibly be…

”Mmmmm scrummy!”

Jodie laughs and takes a sip of her coffee.

"When we finish want to take a stroll to help me walk off my supper or do you have things you need to do?"

Feeling flattered and eager to spend more time with him Jodie replies.

”I don’t think I’ll be able to move after this!
But if I don’t try to I guess I will just go to sleep in a corner…
I think a walk is a great idea…. “

She flashes him a mischievous smile;

”Just be prepared to carry me if I collapse due to chocolate overload!”

Again the shared laughter as Jodie resolutely refuses to imagine what it would feel like to have his arms around her, to ….

She attacks her cake with renewed enthusiasm and then laughs loudly as Thad catches her eye and raises an eyebrow. She already loves the way he teases, his sense of humour.. besides he is a cute guy who likes chocolate… how lucky can a girl get… !?
Again she ignores her earlier intentions and reasons to herself that this is not getting involved, much less dating.
He’ll be gone in a matter or days anyhow, she thinks so why not enjoy his company meanwhile … no harm in being a friendly hostess and showing round the poor guy, who is after all, a stranger in town.

Eating cake and sipping her coffee, Jodie feels almost virtuous, having convinced herself that she is not breaking her “off men” rule.

Thad:

" 'Carry you', I'll be damned. Not after all of that cake," I say laughing yet again.

"If you collapse it'll just be because the cholocate fix has worn off
and I have the cure for that riiight here," I say chuckling, as I pat the Hersey Kisses in my jacket pocket.

When dessert is finished and I've paid the check I ask if there's a store in town where I can buy really cheap cloth measuring tapes. "I'm running low and need go stock up again for the show so I don't run out."

Offering my arm, "Lead on Stanley. We won't find those bloody falls standing around burning daylight you know." More laughing.

I can't believe how hot, beautiful and very easy to talk to she is. It's been a very, very long time.

You may or may not notice that the only thing a bit 'off' are the trousers I'm wearing. The legs are more loose and baggy than fashion dictates.

Jodie

"Carry you', I'll be damned. Not after all of that cake,"

Jodie gasps feigning offence at Thad’s lack of gallantry.

"If you collapse it'll just be because the cholocate fix has worn off
and I have the cure for that riiight here,"

Unable to stop myself joining him in his laughter I joke…

”Well don’t go eating them all, you might need them in an emergency… it’s that or a bad back!”

Still totally at ease with him, Jodie watches as he pays the check and stands with him to leave.

”Soo… I guess you get everything catered for round here huh?”

Thad enquires as we make our way to the door.

”Is there any place I can buy really cheap cloth measuring tapes.
I'm running low and need go stock up again for the show so I don't run out."

Jodie glances curiously once more. His pants could do with being taken in, but other than that the guy is well turned out.. cheap cloth for the show?!

”Try Joe’s place. It’s a convenience store, just along from here, but only if it’s cheap stuff you’re after. Joe has rolls of older fabric, but I warn you there’s nothing the height of fashion there… if that’s no good you could try one of the shops in the main street. You’ll find that North of here, you need to cross Main Street to get to Mikey’s Bar at the other side of town…”

Jodie chatters on and takes the arm Thad offers her as they move out into the street beyond the coffee house.

"Lead on Stanley. We won't find those bloody falls standing around burning daylight you know."

Her arm snugly tucked in his, Jodie cannot hold back her mirth.

”Man.. you’re good Thad… you should be on the stage…”

She teases.

”Where to..? … Joe’s or shall we just wander round for a bit for now..?”

She smiles warmly up at him, her eyes dancing enjoying his company.
All her earlier reservations seem to have fled, melted in the warmth of the look he gives her as she walks along beside him…

Thad:

"Lets get business out of the way so all I have to concentrate on is pleasure, the pleasure of your company Jodie," I say with a soft smile.

"On to the formidible Joe's Emporium of This and That Jodie. On my faithful guide and lead me not astray, well until after Joe's that is," I laugh.

We stroll leisurely along with you pointing out this store and that shop in case I may need what they carry while I'm here. At last we reach Joe's and he has just what I need. When he learns I want to buy all he has in stock we haggle a bit on the price. Since I saw his price for one and can multiply it wasn't hard to get a nice discount on the entire lot on hand.

Carrying the 400 tape measures in their box under one arm and your hand on the other arm it's out the door we go with a breezy "Goodbye my good man and thank you for the discount."

Outside again, "Jodie how about a park? Does this place have a park to stroll in with benches to rest on while sucking a bit of chocolate to refuel depleted energies?"

Jodie

”Lets get business out of the way so all I have to concentrate on is pleasure, the pleasure of your company Jodie,"

Jodie cannot hold back a giggle. Thad might be unwilling to carry her, but he was certainly gallant in every other way!

"On to the formidible Joe's Emporium of This and That Jodie.
On my faithful guide and lead me not astray, well until after Joe's that is,"

Jodie quirked an eyebrow, mirroring Thad’s trick.
Leading astray huh? She thought, but said nothing.
The stroll was good filled with good-natured laughter.
Jodie realised that she seemed to be doing a lot of that in Thad’s company!
Pointing out shops and landmarks, explaining where to go to get to Mikey’s Bar later.

Once in the store, Jodie busies herself looking amongst the many things on sale.
So many pretty things, yet most of it out of her financial reach at the moment.
She could not waste cash on frivolities anymore.
She glanced across at Thad amazed by the amount of cloth he wanted to buy and amused by the haggling that seemed to be going on.
She smirked and siddled up to Thad.
Noting the shopkeeper moving to the side to get yet another roll of his long-term stocked cloth, Jodie stretched up to whisper in Thad’s ear.

”Go for the best price you can… he hasn’t sold any of this in years…”

Before demurely moving once more to the other end of the store and letting the men conclude their business.

"Goodbye my good man and thank you for the discount."

Thad’s voice announces the conclusion of the deal.
He beams at Jodie as they leave the store.

"Jodie how about a park?
Does this place have a park to stroll in with benches to rest on while sucking a bit of chocolate to refuel depleted energies?"

Jodie’s eyes widen as she hears his teasing tones.
He taps his pocket, indicating the treats he has there, but she knows that Thad has noticed the way her mind created other images as he invited her to … share.. his chocolate…
She blushes, but cannot avoid glancing down at his trousers, then quickly away.

”Err.. yes… the park is just over there… at the edge of town… bench.. lake.. trees… I’ll show you… “

She stammers… trying to rid her mind of erotic images..

Thad:

'Luckily the edge of town isn't all that far away as time is a consideration. I've never been late for a show and won't be tonight either reagardless of how good Jodie's company is,' I think to myself as we walk along and chat more and more like old friends.

Reaching the park at last I let Jodie continue to lead the away. We reach the edge of a lake large enough to have rowboats out on it and stroll along the edge talking softly to each other so as not to disturb the lovely, tranquil atmosphere and mood.

'I wonder if she'll come and see me at the show,' I think to myself. 'If she does I wonder if she'll still wish me to come and see her tonight at Mike's Bar.'

Jodie

Jodie and Thad continue to walk. Thad focuses on his surroundings.
He seems curious and appreciative of the strange town he finds himself in.

Jodie walks beside him, her arm still resting snugly in his.
They chat about the town, then more personal matters, finding that they have things in common… neither have siblings, neither are in touch with living parents…

It seems to them as if they have known each other for a long time.

Finally they pause and stare companionably out onto the lake.
Jodie sighs contentedly, unaware of how time has flown since she first sat down in the coffee shop.

Thad:

As we stand quietly looking out over the lake I'm surprised to find my arm around Jodie hand on her hip holding her close against my side and her arm is around me holding my waist.

I don't flich when I realize it. I just stand with a small smile on my face and enjoy this. . . very much.

'It's been so long,' I think. 'I wonder. . .'

Jodie

It was all so natural.
Jodie barely felt Thad's arm move round her.
It was not a conscious move when she wound her arm about his waist...

Still they watched the lake, mesmerised by the patterns, the reflections on the water...
Jodie rested her head on Thad's shoulder and sighed.
The sound was one of contentment.

Just for this moment, she thought, she would step out of time and allow herself to feel... at peace... she closed her eyes savouring the feeling of him close to her ...

Even their breathing seemed synchronised.
Reluctantly, she opened her eyes and raised them to smile up at Thad.
She did not realise that her expression was soft and tender;
a stark contrast to the defensive young woman who first sat opposite him for her coffee...

Thad:

As Jodie was nearly as tall as I am it wasn't difficult for her to lay her head on my shoulder, nor for me to rest my cheek on her head.

The moments stretch is gentle silence and peace.

Eventually she tipped her head up and lifted mine. She looked up as I looked down into her eyes reading what they revealed. A soft woman. A gentle woman. A tender and vulnerable woman.

'No way will I push this,' I think.

However, I can't resist leaning down the tiny bit necessary and kissing the tip of her nose, then her forehead. My head moved away and again I sought and captured her gaze and we both smiled at each other at the same time.

Jodie

Jodie had felt his head on her cheek, yet the intimacy of the soft kiss upon her nose touched her.
She felt herself shiver, the light brushing of his lips making her body glow.
The kiss Thad pressed onto her forehead made her sigh softly.

Thad looked down at her, his eyes locked with hers.
They shared a smile.

Jodie couldn't understand the sense of "togetherness" she felt with this man, a man she had only just met ...
As she looked into his eyes she was overawed by the feelings they seemed to share...
