......why, when featured in porn, do these always seem to get portrayed as downmarket ? It's all adult theatre/grafitti'd walls blah blah.......which is fine, but monotonous imo.
I can't imagine this appealing to many, yet the concept - of an anonymous stranger who is identifiable only by their cock - ought to be popular you'd think, particularly if done in a less low rent environment ?
What's the thinking here........?
Sex is supposed to be dirty. And anonymous sex with short-time non-committed strangers is the dirtiest of all. Gloryholes are dirty, illicit places where loving, couples or horny singles and cheating spouses sneak off to to indulge their guilty fantasies. That's why gloryholes have to be dirty. If you had a clean gloryhole in a clean setting it automatically isn't as interesting. You might as well have kneeling pillows, reservations, spittoons, and the results of everyone's blood tests.
The price (free), the place (dark and secluded), and the lack of regular authority (signs of dirt and squalor evident/broken windows theory) are very important in gloryhole stories. You have to go slumming to go to a gloryhole. Everybody at that gloryhole will be of your social status or lower.
If elements of control (clean, lighted, comfortable, planned, upscale) get mixed in with a gloryhole story or video, it isn't as interesting.
