The great apes--- rights of life and liberty.

large cats eat people. this proves people don't have a right to life?
Exactly.

Humans don't have the right not to be killed by animals, avalanches, earthquakes and falling trees. What we have is the the right to take measures to protect ourselves from it. The only rights to life we have, is a social construct regarding the actions of other humans. No human has the right to try to kill me. Every tiger, bear, ferrent and gnat, actually do.

Monkeys already have all the rights in the world to try and defend themselves against snakes, cats, people. As do we. What they don't have, and niether do we, is the right to succeed. That it up to each spieces' abilities.

liar Humans don't have the right not to be killed by animals, avalanches, earthquakes and falling trees.

not as simple as that, liar. i do have a right NOT to be killed by your dog, one owned and kept by you, or by a tree in your yard that leans over into mine, snaps, and falls on me.

indeed, it may be pushing a point, but also my dog has a right not to be killed by your dog.

these points apply in the case of children, as well. i have a right not to be killed by your child [as does my child], though that child of yours bears no criminal responsibility. do you believe children have rights, btw?

generally, of course the Great Ape people want ape rights assertable against humans; only against other great apes in the 'dog' [owned] situation i mention, above

Correction: You have a right for your dog to not be killed by my dog. The notion of your dog having "rights" is meaningless, for reasons I've explained several times here.

It's exactly as simple. Pets are property. Thus responsibility falls on the owner.

You have the right to ask me, a human, to take precausions to ensure your safety. Your business is with me, not with my tree. If you try to demand that the tree comply with your rights or wishes, the tree niether will or can give a fuck.

Children? Kind of the same thing. With slight modifications. But there is a reason kids dont have full freedoms.
