the highlander series

OOC: who will play the mortal dreaded HORTON????
Shila: I don't have a clue what else to call us. I would say "the kind" but that is reminscent of a Clive Barker book I once read.....

I made my way out the back door. Where was everyone? This party was to be well attended. I waited by the back door waiting for Samauri when I felt the surgance once again. I sighed and raised my sword. "Not again." I whispered. I waited to see if were friend or foe who was near.

I looked up fom the alley to the silhouette in the monastery's doorway. The emanations were coming from her, but from someone else as well. I cautiosly advanced, hand on sword hilt...

Muff

OOC: Well then, after some consideration and thoughts from a friend, I've decided to give this thread a try. It could be interesting. Not Horton and definately not Berthhildaguard (I know you're disappointed, the support hose was turnin you on). However, someone of that bent, only more sexually motivated neh?

Heres the shot, tell me what you think. Keep in mind that I've seen the TV show once about five years ago or something.

Name is Muffin (I'm bad about keeping things straight) Short, long black hair, black eyes, aged to about 25. Of Nipponese descent, raised in South Korea. Heavily schooled in martial arts (think Shi of the comic book) and immortals.

IC: I was a test tube baby, one of the original ones. My "father" didn't contribute to my DNA at all, he just created me from stolen DNA. He felt that he owed a fantastic debt to a scot who saved his life, an Immortal who could not bear children, which he wanted badly. So he stole some DNA from another immortal, a Nipponese flavored immortal around WW2 :)P it could happen). He combined this DNA with a mortal woman's DNA and produced me, the first half breed. I would die, eventually.

We moved to Korea after I was "born" and I was taught things I would need to know to survive amongst immortals. I had the drive to kill, but not the restraints, I did not receive the Quickening. My "father" died, a draftee in the Vietnam war, before properly "programming" me to find a particular immortal and mate. I was simply programmed to kill off bad immortals and mate with the good ones. If my "father's" genius proved true, I would produce a child for the immortal I mated with. If not, then my existence is all for nothing.

My intel on the Immortals were very good, I got wind of this birthday party and made arrangements to attend. It was time for me to fullfill my duties and bring honor to my "father."

I don't think that anybody really needs to play Horton. We can use him as a device to blame bad things on. Just like here I used him to get out of the Party House, because it doesn't look like anybodys coming. The three of us can continue the story if we want and kill Horton off at will. Any of the others can join becuse we don't know who was killed. Or we can keep Horton arround as a Boogie Man. Killer Muffin has looked at the theard and expressed an interest, but I think that she is more familure with the movie characters. I'm not sure that she has seen the tv series. I don't have a clue about a short term for immortal. If you would rather keep the posts in character, we might comunicate ooc by email.

OOC: cool, Horton can be a phantom. I have yet to seet the new movie, but have watched both the old ones, and am an avid fan of TV series(and Queen). I will follow along however you guys/gals decide you want to go. Looking forward to the response of some of the other early characters who seemed to have all died or run away...*S*
Let the Games Begin.

As I walked up the darkened alley, I felt that familiar warning in my soul. Stopping, I shrank back into a doorway, hand on the sword that had served me so well, lo these many years. I watched, relaxed, a little sad. My breathing was shallow and quiet. Perhaps it was only the others who had been summoned to this "party". I would wait, alone, as always.

Muffin

Something told me not to go inside via the front entrance. I'd discovered that hard way to listen to these somethings. It took some time to ferret out another entrance, the back door was thoroughly blocked. A cracked window was enough for me to slip through.

I knew they were immortals the moment I saw them. This was neutral ground, immortals could not kill here. So someone else must have. Another immortal hunter, but his only reason was death. It would behoove me to get rid of him.

Sensing movement across the small church courtyard, near the front doors, I moved towards them. Two immortals... wait... a third, farther away in the streets. Leaving my swords in their sheaths, I crossed to them, staying out of sword range.

"Hello." I said calmly. "Did you see who did this?"

My head was pounding. This was The very thing I had been fighting my entire life. This kind of waste. This kind of evil. I felt two more presences. One was further away than the other. When I heard her ask who had done this. My radar went on overdrive. This was no immortal. She was not mortal either. I got a strange reaction in my veins at her presence. I had heard of the "ones" who were half immortal and half mortal. But had never met one. some of them were purely evil, killing machines. Others fought for the good. I looked at Samauri to get his take on this stranger. After what had just happened Iwas loathe to trust anyone.

The tension was still in the air, but I took the chance and moved in the shadow of the building to the front. Across the churchyard I saw some others. They were speaking quietly. There seemed to be no animosity between them and I felt relatively safe. It was, after all, holy ground. I would have to approach them sooner or later. Might as well be sooner. Walking toward them I was careful not to have a hand near the sword hilt just under the long coat we all seemed to favor. I could always reach it in time. I had survived quite awhile with my abilities. I brushed a wisp of hair out of my eyes and took the step away from the relative concealment of the shadows.

occ: Nice to meet you all.

"Did you see who did this?"

I snapped around at her voice. I had never felt such strange eminitions. Before me was a lovely creature, an Aeike from our southern islands, known for thier beautiful natives. She moved with the grace of a trained ninja, ready to strike instently. I didn't think that she hostle, at least toward me.

"No, It looks like Horton's work, though. If it is, we need to get to ground now."

"Rancia, get us out of here."

"Coming?" Iasked the stranger.

As I neared the group it looked as though they were about to leave. I recognized the Samauri, a legend among the imortals, and the one called Rancia. I had only met her in passing years ago. Gatherings were not my favorite thing, but for "Danielle" I would always make an appearance, at least. "Where was she?" I wondered to myself. I approached with my hand raised, peacefully. "What has happened?" I asked. Did I really want to know? I hated these things.

I stepped slowly up from the shadows, intrigued by this... half~breed. I could tell, by the way she felt to my sixth sense, that she wasn't hostile. But those wierd mixwed signals... the kind from humans and our own... were really weird. It felt like tripping for thye first time.

"Hmm... Parties common in this city?"

My sword swept into guarde, as these two new immortals neared us. We were still on Holy Ground, but that hadn't stopped the murderer before. Still, these were Immortals. They would play by the rules.

"Someone was killed here, we must get to somewhere safe. Do we have a truce while we find out who did this?"

I looked at Samauri. He seemed calm. I didn't sense any danger from our little gathering here. I didn't know where Danielle was. this was her home. When Samauri asked me to get us out of there, I nodded and told everyone they could come to my place that I kept in the city. I would make some phone calls, to see if anyone else knew what was going on.

I started walking, first in silence, then we began talking.
We had some stories to tell.

Larenzo Destefano

It was my job to be a watcher of Immortals, I was assigned to three so far. Unfortunatly all of them had come to an early demise. They all hinted that there was something more to me. Something they could "feel".

Anyway my name is Larenzo DeStefano, I'm a hansom, twenty four year old, with long brownish red hair and hazel eyes. I've a solid build standing six fet tall and weighing two hundred and fifty pounds. God that sounds like a personal add in a paper...

I was invited to a Party, The Watcher's Organization sent me there to find a new immortal to keep tabs on. Apperantly they assumed that there would be an Immortal without a watcher there. However when i got to the place, everyone seemed on edge.

OOC: Larenzo is a mortal, but if he is killed in a violent way he will become an immortal, so he will give off a slight presence when he gets near other immortals, though he doesnt know it.

Samuari's request was simple enough. I was all for a truce. Few immortals truly killed for pleasure. Oh, they were out there, but many had met their demise. "Truce." I nodded. By way of introductions I added. "I am Stefan." Falling into step I walked with Samuari to follow up the group as Rancia led us away.

"Coming?" He asked me.

I canted my head a moment, considering. Who was this Horton creature, I wondered.

"I am coming." I stated. I turned back, facing the church with the headless bodies of it's dead inside. I had sensed that the immortals within were not evil people, merely in the wrong place at the wrong time. I did as my father had taught me.

Dropping into the gracefully executed sehbeh, bow of deepest respect, on my knees, forehead to the floor. Standing again, I vowed, "Naga namoo nutegeh wassuh boolwhoeh saramdulee han chookumul hessumnida. Boolwhoeh saramdulee oori abojieh myungyeh mokejukuro gapghessumnida."

Standing up I faced the two immortals, silently watching as three more eased from the shadows to join us on this sacred holy territory.

I waited patiently to see what they would decide. I had no other agenda, so I would follow them, particularly this Samauri.

ooc: Muffin, Stop showing off! or at least give us a translation.

ic:
For some reason I've been elected leader, and I had to get us all to some kind of base so that we could get this sorted out.

"Stefan, you and Rancia take point, Ariana and Muffin follow, I have the rear. Lte's go."

That would put the two that I knew the least where I could watch them; not that they were hard on the eyes. Damn, why does danger allways turn me on?

We made our way out into the city, trying to be as unobtrusive as possible, for an infantry platoon on patrol. We needed to be talking, laughing, just looking like freinds on holliday to start to blend in with the cilvilians. To break the ice, and because I was curious, I asked Muffin, "What was that cerimony that you just did? It was beautiful, but I didn't understand it. In six centuries I don't think that I have ever seen anything like it." She looked over her shoulder at me, and then noticed that we were all looking at her.

(you... don't know my name. yet. just say you pointed to me, k, Samuari?)

I shrugged. I hadn't been planning to kill anyone until i knew who was who, but hey, mutual understanding was good. I sang a song as we walked...

"We also found a man's decapitated body, lying on the floor next to his own severed head. A head, which at this time, has no name... (I know his name)

Be ready! I am the master of your destiny...
I am the one, the only one, I am the god of kingdom come
Gimme the prize
Just gimme the prize..."

Muffin

I stopped and looked at Samuari, considering. "I have failed them and I have shamed my...father." I said simply, softly. I met his gaze unflinchingly while he thought this over.

My eyes locked with his, I rememberd my other purpose with a vengence. Thoughts of the two of us rolling, grappling, loving in the pristine white sheets of a bed poured through my brain. I licked my lips and tried to control the reaction of my body while waiting for his determination.

ooc

I've recieved some email looking for some resourses about the highlander history. If you go to scifi.com and use the search function you find there, you can find just about any thing you may want to know (about the series), certinally more than you need to know to play the srpg. Lets get back to the game!

Not exactly the tone that I was looking for, but the intensity was writin in capitol letters all over her face, and I knew that I would persue this latter. There was something else, lurking just at the edge of my sences...a watcher!

"2 oclock, 300 yards, a watcher. Pass it on." I said in a voice just loud enough to be heard by Muffin and the "namless one."

i sensed something off, something in the air, a tingling at back of my neck, first i looked for clair, and not seeing her my heart feeled with dread. I dashed out, she was no where to be seen. i raced towards the church, the party wasn't until tomorrow but the place looked like it had been struck by lightning, when i got there i was stunned. my mind reeled. Horton immediately leapt to mind, he must have gotten hold of one of my invitations, changed the date and set up a trap. my hand hovered over my sword as i saw the others by the body. i walked slowly letting the sense me, i looked down a tear rolling down my face, harold had been a dear friend and one time lover, of course that had been lifetime ago.

clair i thought then wondered what other traps horton had set in this holy place. clair would have tried to warn me. i bit my lip, i knew in my heart she was dead.

"hello, I'm danielle dubois, i'm" i stammer, "glad you could make it," tears rolling down face as i lean over harold and close the eyes on his head.

Ariana

I whispered, "Psst," to the two in front of me and reported the findings. I then leaped onto the stairs of a nearby fire escape and ran to the top. I looked out from the seventh story roof, headed northeast a bit, jumping from rooftop to rooftop. I looked down at the watcher...
