The Hunt Miss Jenna Malone

Jenna Malone

She may not know what Gillian was thinking, but that didn't matter at all right now... all that mattered was the tenderness of his kisses upon her body, the warmth of his arms around her as he held her close. She closed her eyes, breath slowing to a more normal rhythm as the moments stretched on...

... and a vision passed beneath her eyelids, of a pair of wolves. One was "Gill", Gillian... The other... a delicate snow-white she-wolf, laughter in her eyes as the two of them cavorted about the snow....

Shannon

The scene played through her mind as she slowly trudged her way back to Owen... Several of the elders had wanted to speak with her, so of course she'd come at their beckoning.... What they'd had to say had shocked her completely.

They knew about her relationship with Owen, and had tolerated that. They knew that she had helped in that last fight with the humans, and had ignored that. But when she began to teach the Garou Kin child.... THAT had been the last straw, apparently. She was no longer welcome with the Bagheera. If she so loved the Garou pack, they had told her, she could become a part of it!

She slowly made her way inside, and to Owen's bed. He wasn't in yet... Thank god for small favors... She curled up into the covers, tears slowly streaking down her cheeks.

We lay there together I was still deep with in Jenna loathed to break our contact in any way.

We drifted off to sleep still joined in a lover’s embrace. When she let I do not now, but I was alone again.

When she woke up, Gillian was sleeping so peacefully, still resting deeply within her... She hated to go, but had agreed to meet with Shannon today. She'd said that there was still more that Jenna needed to learn, if she was to see this through properly. She still didn't understand exactly what Shannon had meant by that remark, but she would keep her word...

... moved away slowly, not wanting to wake Gillian, and went to her room to dress for the day. It wasn't long before she was outside, walking with Shannon. Shannon was oddly distant, as if she was afraid to let anyone really close right now.

"You understand, Jenna, every action has a consequence, even if you do not learn what that might be until much later...." Shannon began quietly, still preoccupied with what had happened yesterday.

Jenna was thinking about yesterday, too, but for vastly different reasons and with fondness instead of sorrow. She frowned, however, when she noticed Shannon's expression. "What's wrong, Shannnon?"

Shannon simply shook her head. "Just a lesson I seem to have forgotten momentarily."

Owen was more than a little upset from the news he'd gotten when he finally got back home, finding Shannon crying in his bed, wracking sobs that left her breathless.... When he'd finally soothed her, she told him about what had happened with her elders, about being banished from Bagheera society...

... so, when the sun was in the midst of setting he came to the East Wing door, and waited... Gillian would come out soon, he was sure of it. And then he had to talk with him.

Morning, I stretch as Gill, my paws out in front half crouched, tongue curled, mussel wide in a long luxurious yawn. Then the realization that Jenna’s is gone.

Panic, every sense alert, her sent still strong,, I follow it, wanting more than anything to take my human lover as she was born in my true form, I spy her deep in conversation with the Shannon the Bagheera. I hold in the shadows unseen and wait. There is a crushing sense of sadness and loss in Shannon, I sense confusion in Jenna. I pad silently away as these two need time alone my needs on hold for my loves peace of mind is more important at this moment.

The day is long as the events of last night and this morning flood my soul with joy, and the sweet sadness that I will stay as I am while my sweet young Jenna, grows old withers then dies. My fate at the hands of this curse is like a dagger plunged into my soul. I am alone with my thoughts, separated from my love each moment and eternity while we are parted.

The Day is done, again Gillian emerges, and Owen is waiting for me. A deep sorrow written on his face.

“Lad what is it?”

He sighed softly as the last light of the sun faded, and the door opened slowly. Gillian was there, just as he knew he would be.

“Lad what is it?”

That was the question of the hour, wasn't it? There was so much to tell, and he didn't know what the outcome was going to be. But he would talk with Gillian, though he hadn't told Shannon he was going to. This was to be a surprise to her, if it turned out well... If not.... well, that would be a surprise, too, in a way... One that he'd hate to spring on her.

"It's about Shannon... She was called to see her elders..."

That in and of itself was not odd. She often had to go and see them for one reason or another, usually to give as much information of the workings of the pack as she was free to give...

"... they didn't want information this time, they already had all they needed..."

He looked down at this point, barely whispering what came next, the reason for Shannon's sense of sadness and crushing loss...

"... they've told her she's no longer welcome with the Bagheera... they've told her, if she's so fond of this pack..... that she should be welcomed here for good...."

He didn't want to lose her, but whatever Gillian decided, that would be what was done. It could be no other way.

There was a deep sorrow in Owens eyes, for he loved the Bagheera, he loved his Shannon. I knew what he wanted from me but could I grant it, to be a member of the pack required certain sacrifices that I was not sure he or Shannon would submit to and then there was Jenna.

There was a deep pain in my eyes as with a broken voice I spoke the words I knew would wound Owen.

“Owen I no of no one more dissevering to join the “Pack” than Shannon, but……….”

The pause was deafening in its silence.

“But I would have to brutally take her in her human form in front of the assembled “Pack”, then Jenna as my mate would have to be served by Shannon. Could you watch, could you even stand to know what has to be done, and Jenna, is she ready for such an act?”

Again the silence.

“Owen Talk to her, and Jenna both. If all three of you consent in your hearts it will be done but all three of you must be in agreement.”

I turned and left Owen with his thoughts. There was no room for debate as I the Alfa had spoken.

Pacing the floor as he waited for Shannon to return from her talks with the girl Jenna, he'd speak with her first... it would take a while to be able to get the whole story out even just to his love, and he knew he'd have to wait until morning to gather the courage to speak with Jenna about it as well... He'd need Shannon with him for that, if it was even to go that far, if Shannon could even stand the idea of what she must do if she was to really become a part of the Pack.

There was nothing Owen wanted more than to be able to help her become a part of the Pack, to have the other members of the Pack accept her as he had ever since they had coupled for the first time so many months ago... But he did not want to see her hurt, or go through something she didn't feel she was ready for...

When she finally did arrive, his expression was just as troubled as it had been ever since speaking with Gillian earlier that evening. Wrapping his arms around her and holding her close before she had a chance to ask him what was wrong, and began in soft tones.

"I spoke with Gillian tonight, love...." They talked about it for nearly an hour, finally coming to the decision that it would in the end be up to Jenna. Shannon was willing to go through any ordeal that would have her being a full member of the Pack, as long as it was something Jenna was willing to help with. She'd bring Jenna to speak with Owen tomorrow morning...

I watched from the hill as Owen left and went to his room. Sometime later I saw Shannon disappear into that same dark room. The decision they had to make was a hard one for lovers so young and tender so much in love. Would it be their salvation or damnation, I knew not which, only the path that must be taken.

My thoughts returned to Jenna my love would she be able to except her role as Alpha bitch in the drama that was, had to unfold. I was alone with my thoughts and the stark cry of the wolf broke from my lips. The pain in my heart for these young lovers and for my Jenna bursting forth.

The next morning dawned bright as any other, ordinary, day... Jenna still wondered what Shannon had meant by a 'lesson that she seemed to have forgotten momentarily', but that would have to wait until she saw Shannon next. When she went outside for a morning walk and spotted Shannon coming towards her with a purposeful stride, she thought to ask her right away what she had meant yesterday. She never got the chance.

"Come with me, Jenna Child... there's something we must speak with you about... Owen and I..."

Shannon had spoken to Jenna about Owen before, and always with a smile on her face. There was no smile now, only a determination that further confused Jenna.

"Alright, Shannon..." She followed her quietly, brows furrowed slightly.

He paced once again as he waited for Shannon to return from her search for Jenna, frowning softly to himself. Through his mind was playing all the sorts of questions he could imagine the young lady asking once the story was over... And her reactions... None of his imaginings turned out very well at all.

Finally, he heard the door open and shut again and turned around to face the women before him... Shannon looking just about as nervous as he felt... and Jenna looking more confused than anything. Now he just had to figure out where to begin...

The morning brought with it a flurry of activity as I lay beneath the low branches of the pines on the hill overlooking the house and stables.

Jenna’s mare and Gillian’s stallion flocked in the pasture and the mare showed signs of the fold she carried. Shannon searched for and fond Jenna their as she watched the horse take their simple pleasure in each others company. The moment of truth was fast approaching and I dredged it. All hinged on Jenna would she accept her part did she truly realize what would be required of her. Ther was an ach in my heart for all three.

Life and life of the pack had a ridged code that even I could not break not matter how much I wish I could.

Jenna listened quietly as Owen first went through the story of how Shannon had been banished from her people, and then through the story of his talk with Gillian the other night... ending with the terms of what would be necessary for Shannon to become a part of the Pack....

When he'd explained everything he felt he could, Owen held his hands together, clasped nervously. Jenna still looked just as confused as ever.

"Serve me? You don't mean.....?"

Shannon nodded slightly in answer to the unspoken portion of Jenna's question. "That's exactly what he means, Jenna Child... I wouldn't ask this..... I won't again, if you don't feel like you can do this, just say it... I'll understand..."

Jenna frowned, closing her eyes and thinking over everything that they'd said to her carefully... Could she do her part in what would surely be a great ordeal for Shannon? Would she agree to that?

The day dragged own as those I held dearest faced the demons of ther own hearts, their needs, and love one for the other,

The scholar Shannon, the changeling Owen, and my Jenna. All caught up in a world spinning out of control, all the result of the curse that haunted me down the corroders of time. Now these innocent three where caught in its tangled web.

An eternity seemed to pass as Jenna stood there in silence, every now and again beginning to pace through the room... only to stop again right where she began a moment later. She sighed softly, teetering on the edge of decision for long hours... Shannon had taught her so much, if it weren't for the kind panther-woman then she would still be nothing but.... a toy to be played with, she wouldn't have her love...

Finally, she simply nodded. It was nearly dusk by the time she made it back to her own room and collapsed onto the bed in exhaustion, not even having the time to pull the covers over herself before she fell into a deep sleep that would last the entire night.

Day passed into night. Night now half spent I set in my study waiting the decision that will so impact on all our lives. The fates and whims of the gods now crashing down on us. The drama to be played out on the stage , of the world I as Gillian, Shannon as the exotic beauty., Owen as the guar to deliver his love to her fate and sweet Jenna to assume her new role as my Alpha.

All of us caught up as puppets severing some unknown purpose with little choice in the matter. The fates could be so cruel at times and this was one of them.
