The Hunter

Celia flinched as he raged in the drivers seat, hands gripping her own seat as he sped onto the freeway. She was learning plenty just by listening to him. "An angel reborn into a human." She murmured to herself before looking over at him.

"Why reborn? I thought angels couldn't die? And what exactly is a sion supposed to do anyway?" She frowned. "Am I now expected to vanquish demons or something like that?"

Kent shook his head, "Angel's don't die, but they don't exist in our world either. In order to be here they have to make themselves born in mortal shells called Sions. You start life like a normal person until the Sion inside you awakens and you'll regain all the memories of the angel that you are created from."

He looked at her and could tell she was unhappy about this. After all he just told her she wasn't who she thought she was. "Most Sions are here for a purpose of forewarning. Usually the big guy upstairs learns of a demonic plot that will happen on Earth, then he sends a Sion down to warn one of his vampires, like me, to put a stop to it."

Celia watched him silently as he explained what she was supposed to be. She didn't have any memories of anything he spoke of. Nor did she know anything about some demonic plot. She hadn't even known demons were real until he showed up. She sighed heavily, putting her head in her hands.

"Don't like it. Any of this. None of it makes sense at all. I don't have any memories of ever being an Angel or of any horrible demonic plots. And now you're a vampire?" she muttered before covering her head with her arms. "No. I don't believe it."

Kent felt bad that he had to be the one to give her all this bad news. It wasn't her fault and he could definately understand finding out you had a different destiny in your future. He had something similar happen to him when he became a vampire almost 10,000 years ago.

He sighed and said, "Look Celia I know it sucks. I've been through it. But you can't close your eyes to it because you don't like it. You have to come to terms with it, no matter how much you don't want too. I'm sorry but it's like learning that Adam Sandler will never make another good comedy again." He told her.

"I'm not running away from it." she snapped at him, not looking up. "Just let me sulk for a few minutes before I force myself to come to terms with everything."

She shifted around, lowering her seat back all the way and curling up on her side with her seat belt still in place. She kept her head covered, just relaxing and breathing for a little while as her mind absorbed everything that had happened.

She couldn't go back home. Couldn't go back to school even. There was no telling where he was taking her, but she trusted it was somewhere safe. There was just so much she didn't know right then. She was frightened.

Kent drove out of the city and headed into the hills overlooking the town. They were miles from anywhere, when he pulled off the road and drove up a hidden path that lead to a small two-story home that he owned. One of the hundred of homes he kept throughout the world in secret. He parked in an underground garage and sealed the doors behind him. The building itself was magically warded and it should be safe from demonic attacks, even with a Sion around.

They went inside and he gestured to the living room, "Make yourself at home." He told her, then went upstairs to change his clothes.

When he came out Celia was sitting on the couch, "How are you holding up? We should be safe here for a while."

She shook her head, leaning forward on the couch. "I'm trying to come terms with everything but it's not easy to do." She said softly, looking up at him. "Part of me still wants to say you're playing me for a fool somehow, but I'm the one who was drawing those things before you came along. If you hadn't been here I'd be dead."

She sighed and leaned back on the couch, curling her legs up under her. "Where do we go from here? Do you teach me how to fight? Do I go into some trance and try to figure out who I am? Or what this threat is I'm supposed to warn you about?"

Kent sighed and moved around the couch to look at her. "For now we hold up. A Sion's visions cannot be forced, and her powers will awaken when they are damn well ready to awaken. So why dont you go upstairs and take a shower, then you can get some sleep. I will stand guard as I cannot sleep, though I do need blood soon. Sadly I wasn't able to get a donor in time."

She started to get to her feet before pausing to look at him. "How do you plan to get blood then if you're holed up here with me?" She asked curiously. "Unless, can you take mine? Would the blood of a Sion hurt you?"

Kent looked up at her, "Getting blood as a vampire isn't like it is in the movies. I don't gain anything from the blood of someone who doesn't willingly give it to me. It has to be the willing transfer of life energy." He explained. "I"ll sit tight for now and maybe call an old friend of mine who can help me out."

He raised and eyebrow, "No the blood of a Sion would super charge me actually. Though I've only ever had it once."

Celia tilted her head, watching and listening to him explain before frowning. "But it would be willingly given wouldn't it? That is why I was asking. You don't need to suck me dry or anything right? Just a little blood?"

Kent raised an eyebrow and looked up at her, "I heard you, but I wanted you to understand why I need the blood and under what circumstances I need it before you finished offering." He told her, standing slowly.

"I don't want to freak you out of anything like that. Besides it can be a little graphic too, and you don't know me that well." He told her moving up to stand in front of her and looked into her eyes, "Celia you knew nothing about me two hours ago, why are you so willing to give me blood that quickly?"

Celia looked at him, frown deepening before getting to her feet. She looked back into his eyes, her own calm and clear with her emotions. "What I know, what I don't know." she said softly. "None of that matters. You saved my life. I am alive to learn about you now, because of you. The least I can do is repay you with a bit of my blood. Then you can tell me more about yourself, about what you do."

Her hands balled into fists before she lifted one up to grab his shirt. "I want you to teach me. Everything you know. All about demons. And how to kill them." she said firmly, eyes hardening. "I am not going to run scared. These things want my blood? Then they are damn well going to have to fight me for it!"

Kent smiled as she leaned in close to him, her hands tight on his shirt. He took her hands and made her let him go, "This is a 400 dollar shirt," He chuckled. "Very well Celia. I will teach you. But first come upstairs to the bathroom with me." He told her and led the way up to the bathroom.

Once in the bathroom Kent grabbed a towel and handed it to her, "Take off your shirt and bra if you are wearing one and wrap yourself in the towel if you do not wish me to see."

She blushed a little as she took the towel from him but gave a nod. She turned her back to him as she stripped of her top and bra, wrapping the towel around herself and tucking it in. She then turned back to him, using a hand to pull her hair back away from her neck and letting it hang down her back.

"Does it hurt much?" she asked, tone of curiosity rather than fear being heard from her.

Kent moved up to her and put his hands on her shoulders. "I can make it painless, however there is some visual shock that is involved. Taking blood, opening an artery is not the clean cut thing that movies or books would have you believe. That is why your cloths are removed, as I do not want them ruined by your blood."

He turned and moved to the shower and turned it on. After testing the water and making it warm enough he moved back to her, creeping around her. His fingers brushed her hair away from the left side of her neck and whispered, "You may want to close your eyes."

"No." Celia whispered. "I want to watch. I can handle it, don't worry."

She held the towel to her chest with one hand, eyes calm and watching as she waited for him to do what he needed. She wasn't sure what exactly was going to happen, but she wasn't going to run away either. She owed him at least this much for saving her life. She wouldn't allow herself to fear that savior.

Kent slipped behind her and gently brushed her hair away from the left side of her neck. He could feel the blood pumping through her and felt his fangs extend. He leaned down and kissed her pulse softly. Then his arms wrapped around her waist and locked in place so she couldn't pull away.

He bit her. The blood gushed into his mouth and down her body. He drank her down as much as he could, but it always spilled. The blood hit his system like a Mac Truck, the power of angellic origins echoed through him with each swallow. It only took a moment for the power to fully recharge him.

He quickly licked her neck wound closed and pulled away from her, before the temptation of draining her became too much.

"My word there is power in you Celia." He gasped.

When he first bit she gasped softly, hands tightening in the towel before relaxing slowly. The feel of her own blood running down her body was new, and should have terrified her, but instead the experience was exhilarating. She trusted him completely to know when to stop, to not kill her.

Her eyes slipped closed as she felt him drink, but snapped back open when the wound was sealed. "Power?" She breathed, shivering just slightly. "We need to find a way to waken that power don't we? Or I can just keep feeding you."

Kent licked his lips, still tasting the power floating around in his mouth. "It isn't that simple. If you were a vampire, or demon or something then sure. But your angelic. That is a power I can't do anything with. But don't worry, you will awaken soon, as powerful as your blood is, change is very close. Which is probably why the demons want you."

Kent backed up and shook his head, "Wash up. I need to get away from you before I loose control and attack you with all that blood on your body." He opened the bathroom door and slipped out quickly.

She watched the door a moment after he had left, a small smile crossing her lips before she let the towel drop. She moved over and stepped under the water, giving a sigh as warm water cascaded down her body. It felt wonderful to wash the blood away from her body, her only regret was she didn't have the things she needed to recolor her hair after.

She took her time showering and dressing after, combing out her hair with her fingers as best she could before going out to search for him. Her long hair was its natural black color rather than the bright red she had dyed it that morning before school. The color had washed away in her shower along with the blood.

Kent did a double take as he heard her coming down the stairs. He never expected her to reappear with black hair all of a sudden. He stood up and smiled at her. "I knew something was off about that hair color. This suits you so much better. It makes your eyes pop." He told her. "While you showered I took the liberty of making you some pasta." He gestured toward the dinning table where a bowl of pasta in a meaty tomato sauce awaited. She would need to eat after losing blood to him.
