If its any consolation, I've been on the receiving end of the same at times (strangely enough, both times were from males on the board) and apart from being stressful, it is just plain confusing for awhile. Best you can do if you find yourself in such a place is take a deep breath, count to 10, and try and move past it...of course, if you can get to a place where you can laugh, it works all the better.
