The Isolated Politics Blurt Thread I: A New Beginning

and instead of voting for the 'right direction, too slow a pace' guy, plus voting down ballot to make sure both the house and senate are Dem controlled so the pace can pick right the hell up, there are those voters who'll throw their vote away and hand things to the brick wall driver. :(

Louisiana will soon likely become the first state in the nation to require the display of the 10 Commandments in all schools that receive state funding after the Louisiana House of Representatives voted, by a 79-16 margin, to approve legislation that would require the display of the Commandments in state-funded schools and colleges.

Sotomayor with the unanimous decision

Supreme Court unanimously rules for NRA in free speech fight

“Vullo was free to criticize the NRA and pursue the conceded violations of New York insurance law,” Sotomayor wrote.

“She could not wield her power, however, to threaten enforcement actions against DFS-regulated entities in order to punish or suppress the NRA’s gun-promotion advocacy,” the opinion continued. “Because the complaint plausibly alleges that Vullo did just that, the Court holds that the NRA stated a First Amendment violation.”
There really should be a SCOTUS thread to discuss hearings and rulings, etc. That being said, I doubt it would be used for that purpose and so I won't be starting it. I know we have a few specific to specific cases.
