Of course, he also surprised me when we were engaged. I told him I wasn't going to take his last name. He said, "Okay," and went back to watching TV. The only other man I'd ever told that ranted at me, so I assumed my husband-to-be was mad at me. (He wasn't. He meant it was really okay.)

I get this about some things, and not just from my wife. I just last night had my brother-in-law playing referee between my sis and me on a couple of subjects that i just flat out don't believe in and she takes a more common point of view on. In this case, it was jealousy. I have maintained for years my belief that it is just flat out destructive and has absolutely NO place in my life. My sis thinks it is normal and natural and that makes it ok.

Sometimes people just don't believe you can have certain opinions for real. they fear it is too good to be true or something...
