Sadly, this is the way of threads.
But I'm fairly sure if Misty or Erin or Selena or any of these ever want to rejoin events, they'd be quite welcome.
Ultimately, TearsofTheWorld is in charge of the thread, and what she says is law. If you submit a character idea to her, she may approve it, she may not. But I get the distinct impression that there is no Kal in this universe, despite numerous predictive allusions otherwise. (We make lots of allusions, we're very silly about such things. XD )
No inconvenience, I don't think.

You might be sitting by the phone for quite a while. The World's Finest thread takes place 10 years after the start of this thread, and Kal doesn't exist there either. Kal-El is essentially locked out of this thread, but there are plenty of other characters out there to pick and choose from.

If you have any specific questions about Merick, you can PM me. But no Merick is a (mostly) human kid with an active metagene and kryptonite influences. And if you read the training montage in Fate's Tower, involving Tommy, you will see that some reference to The Sentinel has already been made.
Also, keep in mind, the average age of the characters in this thread is like 14-16. So a GL might be an odd fit. But, by all means, this is Tears BBQ. I am just here for the good company.
