I'm fine. Just not getting trashed tonight haha
very cool cake
happy birthday sweetie
(Amen, what would happen if Lex asked Misty to "push" one of the bystanders into remembering? Would it disrupt J'onn's mental blocks sufficiently that she'd get anything juicy?
...probably fragmentary at best, right? But maybe something?)
You know, I'm not real sure. The comics are pretty vague about that whole mental power. One story suggests that the power is so great it can only be used once in a Martian's lifetime, others tell of him controlling entire planets' worth of minds (kinda like Charles Xavier I suppose).
But, yeah, I would think there would be memory fragments buried in the subconscious somewhere. Pieces of a puzzle and all that.
Makes sense to me, anyway.

Don'tcha just hate it when comics leave that stuff so vague that... there's no room for improvement
UGH
I know, right?
Guess that's why we make up a lot of stuff.
Like, though, just the other day I learned Superman can see not only x-rays, but radio waves, cellular telephone transmissions, satellite transmissions, etc.
Guess I never thought of that, but, yeah, makes sense.

Arguably, J'onn is one of the most powerful telepathic minds in The DCU, and he's good at what he does.
But he's not infallible.
Certain technological artefacts can disrupt his telepathy; Batman used Brainwave gear to defend himself against The Pale Martians' mindreading, the Senate floor is rigged with scramblers, et cetera.
In "Sins of Youth," Klarion The Witch-Boy totally frelled J'onn once while he was astral-projecting; granted J'onn had been made into a teenage superhero by a combination of magic and technology, his powers might not have been at full-strength. (This inspired Constantine's line when he frelled remote-viewing Dale Tennylson, "terrible breach of security" and all that.)
J'onn is a magnificent telepath.
But. Misty's capacities as a telepath have not yet been charted.
But. J'onn was in kind of a hurry when he set up those blocks and he had to leave in a hurry and couldn't maintain them.
But. There was a lot of chicas and dudes in that crowd and one of them might not have gotten the full dose.
So. There's wiggle room, way I see it.
Working on a post for Jonathan and Martha, but there's quite a bit to catch up on. Should be up before I have to go to work.
Tears, that was very well done!
When we leave Bonneville, are we going back to the farm or the Fortress?
Well, I think Var-Sen had something to give to Kara, so the Fortress might be the best bet for now.
book recomendation
The Forensic Files of Batman
very technical stories of Batman in the role he embraces best, a Detective. I enjoy it but I like the more technical stuff. Most interesting part so far was a interview with the Joker by a profiler. Definately will help me write Batman better.
also picked up Supergirl: Power & Superman/Batman: Finest Worlds. Both excellent reads!
