Just put a new computer together, start it up and the only thing that happens is it beeps twice. Googled the problem and apparently it isn't passing the POST test. Checked the beep code and I guess the 2 beeps means there's a parity circuit failure which has to do with the memory. I've reseated them and still nothing.

try removing the extended memory boards. one of them may be faulty

if removing the boards helps, then add one at a time and reboot. if the comp beeps its the memory board chip set.

are the expanded memory boards separate from the ones I add in to the DIMM sockets?

no, the dimm is the expanded memory. if you can remove memory without a sonic screw driver (read solder gun), then it's expanded memory.

if the dimm sets are ok, may i ask if you used thermal paste?

I didn't use thermal paste.

thermal paste sets the heat sink to the processor, if the processor overheats, this may cause a memory error...
