Lana was a little over three years old when the meteor shower tore her family apart.
Both her parents were killed, and she was taken in by her Aunt Nell. She wears a small necklace made of the meteor rocks that killed her parents in their memory.
Because of her picture being used on the cover of Time Magazine, Lana has been considered by many to be the 'poster child' for the incident.

She is a caring, pleasant, and generally accepting individual. Despite her popularity, Lana feels distant from those around her.
She hopes to one day leave Smallville behind for a much bigger destiny.​

There's absolutely nothing wrong with Lana.

I'm only hoping in this story she doesn't end up in the hospital at the end of every post like she does at the end of every Smallville episode. She must have some awesome health insurance!
