The Last Daughter of Krypton OOC

Hey folks, posting might be a bit sluggish from me over the next couple days. Had to bring my baby back into the hospital. Nothing real serious, just very scary as a first time dad. Anyway, baby is well, just a bit of Jaundice, hoping to be home ASAP. Try to work in as much as I can as quickly as I can.

YAAAAAA!!! Literally minutes after I finished writing in the parents lounge, the doctors came in and told us everything looked great, and that we could head home!! Man, what a relief. Well, disaster is averted once more. Just got home, now I just need a hot shower and a nap. Seriously, if Lily is not pooping on me, she is giving me grey hair. It does get easier right? Right?

well, my son spent the first 2 weeks of his life in ICU. he was airlifted to a hospital, & that only accounts for some of my grey hair.

& on a different note, I totally spaced out that Kyle is smooching in a tree.

God bless, Lunar.

On the bright side, at least your kid doesn't sneak out if someone leaves the door open, only to get bit by something in the rain...

(Like one of my cats insists on doing.)

:: hugs Lunar tight! ::

Glad to hear everyone's doing okay. Keep us posted?

:::: Hugs Chas fiercely :::: thanks sweetheart.

Everything is calm for the time being, just have to go back in to the hospital in the morning to get more blood work done to make sure the bellerubin levels are staying down. Hopefully they will have dropped again and all will be good. Just a bit chaotic, wife is trying to do the whole breatfeeding thing, which is going well enough, but now the docs want us to supplement with an ounce or two of formula at each feeding to help get her better hydrated, so lotsa changes, which means fussy baby, and tired mom and dad. Oh well, if this is the worst we face than all is well in the universe. Just need to remember to take my moments of zen.

Is the cat okay Chas? I hope so. Keep me posted on that front as well?

Oh, he's fine. This was ages ago. I almost died from worry, though, at the time.

But here's a little Zen I've found:

Know all things to be like this,

A mirage, a cloud castle
A dream, an apparition,
Without essence but with qualities that can be seen,

Know all things to be like this,
As the moon in a bright sky,
In some clear lake reflected,
Though to that lake the moon has never moved,

Know all things to be like this,
As an echo that derives,
From music, sounds and weeping,
Yet in that echo is no melody

Know all things to be like this,
As a magician makes illusions,
Of horses, oxen, carts and other things,
Nothing is as it appears

Also, Isaiah 40:31:

"But those who wait on The Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings as eagles; they will run and not be weary, they will walk and not grow faint."

also know that your kid will be the most scary, aggravating and wonderful experience in your life.

(lil buggers give you LOTS of grey hair tho)

I'll have to second that. Damn and very few people pull off cute with glasses, but you do Tears.

I'm sorry to ruin this bright side role we've got here, but, I would like to vent something for a moment.

Why I hate the military:

They send you across the globe, you can't tell anyone where you are at exactly, and you don't get to talk with your fiance until you find out she's in the hospital undergoing surgery.

Pisses me off.

Yeah I got tired of being the government's property as well. I think that's the hardest thing to deal with when your in the service.
