The LATINA Thread!!!

No, no! Get back up on your soapbox please!

Tell me about some of the "bad" stereotypes. Like what exactly?

:rose:

Just things like being passionate, feisty, having a high libido, that sort of thing. Feisty is healthy at times, it helps make things interesting. Passion is also healthy, a positive thing when balanced with the logical side that's no less resident with Latinas than with the rest of humanity, whatever the hype might be. Jealousy? We all get jealous, don't we? We just face it and don't let it run our lives.

Having a high libido, if true, is a good thing, I would think, and despite the belief of some to the contrary, it doesn't make one automatically promiscuous. I think that some insecure men who weren't used to their Latina girlfriends or wives and worried that they couldn't keep up (not without exercise or better physical fitness or something) hyped things a bit. It becomes a stupid urban legend or meme or trope or whatever. Insecure idiots with fragile egos! By the way, being ethically polyamorous, I'm certainly not worried about either of us getting strange if we please. I would simply insist on the same rights as her, but without having any illusions, knowing that she'll almost certainly attract more lovers than me. That's just a statistical reality. It's not a race or rivalry or competition, just consenting adults sharing each other freely and not chaining each other down. That's how I see it.

As much as I tease playfully about the fertility side of things, I actually find it very attractive myself when I see a Latina with a strong desire to reproduce, but again, this is hyped up and blown out of proportion, mostly by nativists with their stupid racist fears of there not being an Anglo majority eventually. Fuck 'em. Doesn't bother me. Not having any racial majority of any kind would be a good thing for this country. A little less arrogance from us Anglos would be a nice change. And I think that a Latina with a baby bump is actually very sexy myself, very sensual.

Just my take. So, yes, as I said, I admit to some fetishizing of Latinas, but the difference is that I mean it playfully, with a great deal of admiration for and appreciation of them. I'm only human, but I try to turn any subconscious racism upside down, confront it, and work on appreciating people as individuals, not collectives. Besides, in my view, race is a myth. The only true race is humanity. On this planet at least (unless you believe that Ancient Aliens guy).

I hope that this helps and is taken in the spirit given, of friendly, appreciative, respectful, and yet playful goodwill.

Those aren't "bad" things at all! At least not in my book. Even the jealousy part.

I thought you were going to say something about our quick tempers or something like that! LOL

LOVED everything you said - especially about appreciating people as individuals not as some sort of representation of their "race"

Thank you. I'm working on it. Breaking free of the kind of WASPy, hillbilly upbringing (not that there aren't good things about being a Mountaineer, but the racism isn't one of them), fighting knee-jerk reactions, and as stated, respecting and admiring people as individuals. It's a struggle against my "raisin'," as they call it back home. Most of all, working toward helping myself and others embrace a future that is post-racial and doesn't have a "majority."

Oh behalf of other Latinas out there I encourage you to lay that rap on the next one you meet that catches your eye Max.
I would be very willing to bet that at the very least you'll walk away with a smile on your face
and she'll walk away with a future dry cleaning bill ;) :)

Good to know, thank you. :rose::heart:

If you can catch one who's an emotional basketcase, pissed of about something,
envious of blondes because she's afraid they really might have more fun than her
and super ridiculously horny because she broke up with her last boyfriend all the better!

I take it that last part is a bit tongue in cheek there. I certainly wouldn't want to hurt someone already hurting, but if she needed any kind of solace, well, I wouldn't refuse, either. :rose:

Tongue was indeed firmly in cheek. :)

Totally.

Max was talking earlier about over-looking some of the "bad" stereotypes about Latinas and I was just having some fun with him about it. :)

My growing awareness that I have fetishized Latinas at times, particularly on the subject of impregnation fantasies, was a considerable factor in the teasing.:eek:;) It does tend to be a strong fantasy of mine, admittedly. :rose: Some element of "damsel in distress" fantasy there, too, I'm afraid.

I'm pretty sure the first woman who ever whispered the words "Put a baby in me" was probably Latina. LOL

It might be a stereotype, it might be your fantasy, but we are really really good at getting pregnant it seems.

And it is a turn-on for me, impregnation for sure. The idea of it. Particularly the sight of a Latina with a baby bump. Soft, sensual, very feminine. The whole domestic goddess thing. It's a weakness of mine.

What I don't get is those people who would mate with someone and then only want to regard them as "the help" after they've mated with them. If she's good enough to share your bed and have your babies, she's good enough to be your lover and treated openly as such. Yes, Thomas Jefferson, I'm looking at you.

Hmmm, that explains why so many guys seemed to follow me around the grocery store both times I was preggers.

I thought I was just imagining it!

Hehe.....cute Latina with the baby bump.....at least with me, it combines two of my fantasies into one. Possibly three if you count the fantasy of adultery. :D:devil:

The great thing about Latinas is we have a sixth sense about when our guys (or our gf's :cattail: ) need attention. :D
