This is what Mieke just sent me

My home town is called Asten, 24km south of Eindhoven and about the same distance from
the Belgian border. Belgium is a funny country, I love it. Lived in Bruxelles (Wemmel) for a year
as au-pair girl when I was 17/18 years young. Great beer, great stinky cheese, great 'stoofvlees'
and the best fries (a bit like steak fries) in the world.

I worked in Eindhoven for years, before I came here, and Maastricht used to be our favorite
quick-day-away-city. Used to go for motorcycle rides in the hills of Limburg often in summer.
Lived in Amsterdam and Nijmegen as well.

The Bell Foundry in my village is called Koninklijke Klokkengieterij Eijsbouts, and we even
have a National Beiaard Museum! So there! ;-)
