It didn't work last year (Yay Diamondbacks!), and I really don't think it will work this year either!:D

Guess I cheered too loudly for the D'backs!! It was a horrible double-header day for my Mets yesterday!!

That's the trouble with rooting for 3 National League teams at once!! Dang it if the Cards aren't playing the Mets NEXT weekend!:D

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!:rose:

Say a prayer or have a good thought for Chick Hearn

I don't know how many of you outside of Los Angeles know who Chick Hearn is. He is the announcer for the LA Lakers, and whatever you think of the Lakers, Chick Hearn deserves nothing but respect and admiration. He is the Frank Buck, the Vin Scully of LA Basketball, he is a true rarity and a treasure, a talented man with a heart of gold. He is credited for coining terms like "slam dunk" and "air ball". He has been announcing the Lakers since the Mid 60's when the Lakers came to LA from Minnesota. He never missed a game (over 3,300) until late last year when at age 85 he had to have open heart surgery, but he recovered from that, along with a broken hip and came back to announce the Lakers through the playoffs. Last Friday night he fell and hit his head on the concrete around his pool. He had 2 surgeries Saturday to relieve the pressure of the bleeding into his brain. The prognosis is not good. He will never call another Laker game, and he probably won't survive this. His and his family deserve any good thoughts that can be sent his way.

I just read about him the other day and I feel sad for L.a. because in detroit we have a guy that is loved by most his name is Ernie Harwell...I will send out best wishes to him and his family..Rosie nice to see you again how are you..Take care and have a great day:)

Not a bump

Hey Nightstalker,

Love the handle - used to watch the show when I was young - which I'm obviously not anymore since I used to watch the show when I was young! I think I confused myself with that response.

Great thread - you can count on me to "keep it up" on my end!

Looking down.....
