The mystical beast

Malderek

Chuckling softly, Malderek listened to the bards story. "Yes, yes, it would seem rather foolish wouldn't it?" he asked. "I do not have a trade in the sense you would figure. I am what is known as an alchemist, or mage. I preferr the latter of the two labels. Growing up I had always been fascinated by the magiks of sorcery, and I sought out a teacher. Little did I know that my luck would grant me the teachings of Merlin's own son. Aside from a missing cat and a few other minor spells gone awry, I learned fast," Malderek said with a wistful smile, thinking back to those days.

"I caution you. I am not keen on telling people who or what I am, but I have a feeling about you. Do not share this information with anyone," Malderek warned. "I would absolutely be delighted if you would accompany me in my journey. I have a feeling you would serve well to lift my spirits," he stated flatly. Suddenly Malderek heard a loud obnoxious question come from the bar table. "You want some of this" rang through his ears. Turning to the table, he saw a barbarian brooding over a young woman, almost harassing her. "Excuse me would you?" he asked the bard.

In an attempt to difuse the situation, Malderek strode over to the gigantic man, and tapped him on the shoulder.

Crystal

I was drinking mt wine when suddenly the barbarian took a seat next to me.

" You want some of this? " were his words, as I turned to face him I noticed he had his hand on his groin...

" No thank you, I have to decline your offer, perhaps you would rather like to have a drink with me? "

Just then the man with the black robes tapped the barbarian on his shoulder...

Harus almost soils himself trying to keep from laughing at the impending chaos, but manages not to. Taking the momentary distraction of the black cloaked man by the barbarian's crudity as a sign, Harus approches the minstrel and asks "How much would a private musical performance cost?"

"Well sir, it all depends on what you want me to play. If you have a song of your own, that I am not familiar with, it might take me a day or so to learn the lyrics, but I am a bard, and thus sufficient in most folk songs around here."
He gave the man's apparel a once over.
"Oh, a man of the cloth, I see. Well, I do have some religious songs, mostly chants though, and you know how boring those can get."
He gave the man a smile, lifting up his sack filled with various instruments, "But, for the right price, I'll do anything. So, what shall it be?"

Zeon

Zeon whirled on the man who touched him, standing and reaching for one of his twin axes in one movement.
"What do you want?" he grunted menacingly, giving a gap-toothed smile at the newcomer. " 'Coz if it's a fight, I will fight!" Zeon said, struggling for the words he wanted. "I like fight!" He said with a laugh.

Malderek

"Pardon me sir, but you seem to be a man with great strength and energy. I was hoping I could have a moment of your time, if you will hear me out," Malderek said, his voice unwavering.

Crystal

The barbaria reacted violently, taking hold of an axe and threatening the black robed man who tapped his shoulder... fortunately no fight broke between them, I hated tavern fights, no use for a mage like myself in them... too caotic...

" You should listen to the man, I dont think no one here wants trouble with you ". I said to the barbarian.

Lalita knew the mage was watching her, she could sense his eyes on her but she chose to ignore it. She was used to it, people ofter were curious about her because she was so secretive. She did not even want people to see her face so she kept it hidden by a hood. She watched as the mage then preceded to talk to various people in the bar. Curiously she watched him idly playing with her wine glass. What exactly was he up to...

Zeon

Zeon sat back down.
"You not want fight... you no fun. But, I am listening." The barbarian said in his halting common, his accent thick and throaty. He waved to the barkeep, ordering another ale. You pulled a gold coin from his pocket.
"This thing... what you call... money? Money good!" he exclaimed with a laugh, tossing the coin to the barkeep, who in turn passed him a full tanker of ale. The barbarian took it and raised it to his lips, slurping away at the golden-brown contents.
"Even if this does taste like poop!" He said with another throaty laugh.

Malderek

"There's a good man," Malderek said, patting the barbarian on the shoulder in a friendly gesture. "How would you like to join me? I have a task that I cannot do so readily alone. It will require a lot of work, and there is a very high chance you'll have the opportunity to put that brute strength to good use," he said chuckling, as he squeezed the mans bicep. "I will gladly pay you for your services with whatever pleases you. Gold, women, ale, whatever you desire," Malderek entinced. With that, he took out a small pouch of gold and placed in on the table in front of the man, as a gesture of good faith. "Think about it for a while. In the mean time, have a few drinks on me," he grinned and walked back to his chair quietly.

Zeon

The barbarian sat down and opened up the pouch. His eyes shone as he saw the amount in there: not alot, but more than he had ever held at once. He drained the dregs of his ale, before tossing another gold coin at the barkeeper, who passed him another of the big tankards. Picking it up, Zeon turned to see Maldarek looking at him expectantly.
"Let's crack some skulls!" He yelled out loud enough for everyone present to hear, and took Maldarek under his huge arm. "Name is Zeon. You?" He asked, hitting the other man in the chest with his tankard to indicate the question.

Malderek

Malderek winced a little at the impact of the tankard hitting his chest, and rhe rubbed the spot as he smiled half heartedly. "I am glad you have accepted my offer good man. My name is Malderek," he stated.

Crystal

Was this my lucky day! The barbarian and the man in black robes were now doing business! the barbarian recieved a payment for some task that needed to be done... I had to be part of that...

I turn to the man in black robes ( whos name I heard was Malderek ).

" Excuse me sir, could not help to listen to your words... It looks like you are hiring people with certain qualities for certain task... May i ofer you my services, my name is Crystal and I am a mage that has traveled with a lot of companies and faced all kinds of situations... "

Malderek

Turning to face the woman, Malderek rubbed his chin. "Crystal, you say your name is? Where have I heard that name before? No matter....you claim you are a seasoned adventurer? What happened to your party? Tell me more about you and your travels. I am intrigued a great deal," he said enthusiastically.

Crystal

He knew my name... oh I hope word of my last company failure has not spread out.. not good for my reputation...

" Yes, I have been traveling for quite a while now, Killing beasts, exploring dungeons, looking for lost treasures..."

My face turns alittle serious " As for my company... well after our last adventure... well lets just say we each took on diferent paths... "

Harus to the Bard

"Man of the cloth?? Of sorts you could say." Harus said pulling up a seat. "Though of course not a most popular god is mine, but old and powerful none the less. Now about that song...anything you know would be fine, provided its dreary, such music i find helps my meditation. Say in the room ive taken for the night in about an hour or so..." Harus waves in the general direction of the others. "...after this rucus has died down."
OOC: My, what can happen when you can't post for the day...

I'm still here! (And I'm sure you're all REAL ( < Insert sarcasm here) glad to hear it)

Xcept... I've already exceeded my download limit for the month, and I still have 7 days left... so I won't be on for the next week. Feel free to control my character during this time, it's fine. See ya.

OOC: Take care and see you when you get back. If anyone wants to control his char, feel free. I can't play warriors :D

Shane bowed, getting back to his drink. An hour away he would do a private song for this young gentleman. It seemed like his talents were needed right and left here. He had been travelling for months barely scraping by, and then, boom, one night and he has two people wanting his services.
Ahh, to be alive.
He wavered off another mug of ale. Unfortunately, he could not play very well drunk, slightly buzzed would help, but anything more and he wouldn't be able to pick up the instrument. Instead, he decided to ask for some water instead, and moved to a table near a window to drink it down.
The black outside seemed to help his mind settle some. As for what was going on inside the bar, he could care less. Things happened all the time, and they were not of his concern.

OOC: well I am still here, but I was just waiting to get a response frommy last post in which my character was talking with BlkPnthr character.

OOC: Malderek is waiting for more information :) Not much detail was given
