Actually no. The term was not invented or created by the media. It is a term used in Ethology which also applies to humans. The first modern Ethologist was Charles Darwin. The term may have been popularized to the general public by the media but the science stands on its own.

Getting back to the original post I am certain I never once mentioned the term Alpha male. I referred to heterosexual males verses all others. Alpha male has nothing to do with it as heterosexual applies to Beta males too and even applies to Omega males

I think what you are seeing is that what you describe is no longer the dominant image of men...and you are very used to that being the case.

VBM I think the friction that is occurring is that people here seem to get tunnel vision and focus on a single thought instead of the totality of your post. I did not feel you were abstract but everybody has differing attention and comprehensive levels. Also, the majority are GLBT here, even though this board is not listed as such.
