Unusually I have to get up before dawn tomorrow. Urgh. Will be a fab day out of the office otherwise, so I will endeavour to jump out of bed when the alarm goes and not hit snooze and go back to sleep...

Very simple.

Get in your car or on a bus or a train, travel up to Manchester because it's been cracking the flags here all week! When I got in my car to come home yesterday, it was 30 degrees.

In fact, I wish it was a bit cooler because it's a bit too hot to make running enjoyable,

First 2009 was the hottest year on record in the UK, then in 2010 that was the new hottest year on record, in 2011 global temperatures broke records everywhere, in 2012 that was again the hottest year, so on so forth until the heatwaves across Indo-Asia that killed hundreds of people last year and now it's every consecutive month that is breaking heat records.
In January the global temperatures exceeded all the top temperatures in 2015, in February the global temperatures exceeded January, etcetera etcetera etcetera.

I am a cold blooded being and I do not much care for global warming.
In a decade will I resort to wearing an Australian hat with the dangling corks replaced with ice cubes?

I don't mind the heat usually, so long as there is sunshine to go with it. I don't like heavy, muggy days where it's humid but gloomy - makes my head ache.

Great! The trains from our direction are messed up by engineering works tomorrow, but we're still hoping to get there around 1.00pm.

I've messaged you directly about that (on FL) as I know someone else who may be able to help you. Failing that, my wife has some experience with corsets, and I'm becoming fairly proficient at lacing them up!
