In this case let's punish some small arms manufacturers when that isn't the fat of death and destruction. Death and destruction worldwide is hugely profitable to our military industrial complex.

He's a quite reasonable poster on most issues as I define reasonable in that I have never felt the urge to throttle him about posts on issues where I profoundly disagree.

Guns, abortion, and religion brings out the irrational in everyone. I don't know why exactly those are such hot button issues. People have pretty strong opinions about the death penalty for example and it certainly life and death and yet it doesn't get nearly as vitriolic.

You're absolutely right about the fact that the Second Amendment is the mike-drop for any discussion at all on this subject, but the fact that we even have discussions about gun control suggests that at least half the country doesn't give it more than lip service.
