The Official Valentine’s Day Contest Support Thread 2026

I am a hero for editing this whole thing on the phone and submitted before the last hour. Where's that David Lynch fucking phones clip when you need it?
I don't see how that's even possible. You, @EmilyMiller, the rest of you that write stories on your phones, I can't type a four word text without six mistakes... You are goddesses.

Ah! Phew, submitted! Had to do some minor scrubbing to make it less dark for the rom-com vibe, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Oscilated between Non-Human and Sci-Fi & Fantasy for a bit, but magic/succubus/societal magi-technical implications puts it in SF&F more than Non-Human.

Time to see what happens!

Congratulations 🍾

I didn't either. I mean, I wrote 85K on my phone, or at least half. Never edited.

Editing is a nightmare. Like I said on the other thread, those students I've had who did all papers on their phones (before AI) now get my admiration.

May thy valor forever be recorded in the halls of Lithalla.

All I want is my spreadsheets. That's the whole reason my signature is frozen. I need my laptop back.

This hosting is hard, Emily said
As she took her vibrator to bed.
I’ve been rhyming so long
That my man is long gone
And I will have to use toys instead.
While I really appreciated your Limerick
There are ‘facts’ at which I must pick
Like my man being gone
Cause I composed too long
He’s very much here, so’s his thick dick

Hey, I wrote an eighty-seven thousand word novel on my phone too 😬

I don't know if you're challenging me, or you're giving me another plot bunny. If it's the second, I'll get two nickels for having two plot bunnies given by you, which isn't a lot, but it's starting to feel weird it happened twice.

E: Yeah... Two authors out sexting each other... Fine! Bad Emily...

The War of the Limericks.

Two limericks met in a duel,
Both crafty, neither a fool.
With wit and with style,
They bantered a while,
In rhyme, they both won the duel.

Your DMs between each other must be insane. How long does it take to load 40,000 sexts?

Uh, whatever's going on your head is far from reality.

As for your question... I don't know about loading, but I've picked up on the habit of waking up and spending like 15 minutes on bed writing poems on my phone with a 160-character limit; framed as sexts. So far I do like 5 or 6; I just do them until I get bored... or have to get out of bed for real.

Welp, after using my time better in the last 2 contests, I'm back to riding that last-minute wave to the very end.

My newest story, "An Arrow in the Hand" has been submitted at just under 14k words. Gotta say, I was close to throwing in the towel once or twice.
