Friday afternoon and about an hour more to go before twenty three year old brunette Lexi can finally go home for the weekend. From 10am to 5pm, a job at an elite corporation office doesn't seem bad. Yet with the economy going the way it is, even past experiences couldn't ensure landing a desirable position in a full time job now that she was out of the university. An office lady who is starting out with an intern status. Either she was in her cubicle doing office work or running around delivering papers along with other menial tasks.

The one thing Lexi should be grateful for is that unlike her previous employments, the job pays enough for rent and bills. Even cutting off the cable service only provided little in regards to food.

She adjusted her headset and let out a small sigh. The director did say she'll be moved up to full time status by next month if they think she was worth keeping around.

As Lexi took care of a few e-mails, she was unaware of the footsteps that were approaching her.

Patrick had to venture down to the Corporation's Admin area, before he could go home for the weekend. He needed some help with a new style of document. As a salesman, he relied on others to create these things for him.

He saw a cute young lady sat at her desk, with her back to him, working at her screen. He was obviously older than she, at 35, but he was single and earning a good wage.

He drew himself up to his full six foot three inches, and made sure his sandy blond hair was tidy, in a reflection in an office window. He walked up confidently and said to the young woman:
"Hi! I haven't seen you before - are you new here?"
He smiled and then added "I'm Patrick. Patrick Docherty. I work in Sales. I'm based in the offices upstairs.

He extended his hand to shake with the beauty sat before him.

Lexi squinted to read some of the fine print on the document that she had to type out for one of the client's. Was the printer having problems or did the director purposely typed it out in size four font on purpose? Once in a while, she swore that the director played tricks on her. She reached in her drawer and put on her reading glasses to see the letters better.

She had just finished sending the e-mail when she heard a man's voice from behind. Turning around, she never saw him before in the time she worked for the company. When he said that he was seeing her for the first time, Lexi figured that he was one of the higher-ups on the top floors. What's someone like him doing on her floor?

"I've been here for two months. Just starting out as an intern."

She saw him extend his hand to hers as he made his introduction. He wasn't bad looking. Older, yes. Lexi slowly reached out her hand to shake his. What made him choose her cubicle over the dozens of others was beyond her guess.

"Alicia Malone. Lexi for short. So what brings you on this floor? Picking up something?"

"Yes, I am looking for a young lady who was preparing a new version of the Daily Sales Report, for Andrew, the Sales Director. Unfortunately, her voicemail was a little fuzzy at the end, so I couldn't make our her name. It wasn't you, was it, Lexi?"

The thing that surprised him was that she had been here for two months, and he hadn't seen her! She was beautiful!

"We have a crucial sales meeting next week, and I was going to review the report before Monday so I can brief Andrew and get ahead of the game."

After a moment's pause - he added:
"Are you planning to work this weekend, or do you actually go home?"

When Patrick reminded her about the documents, Lexi suddenly remembered. She had finished printing the last page twenty minutes ago and tried to get a hold of one of the salesmen on the top floor to come to the lower level and retrieve the documents.

"Oh yeah," Lexi reached for a brown manila folder with papers and handed it to Patrick. "That should be all of it."

She had just removed her reading glasses when Patrick asked if she was working this weekend. At first, she was a bit surprised about it but then told herself that he was just curious.

"No, I don't work on weekends. Unless if the director calls me to help out." It was rare for the director to call her because it would meant that she was entitled for overtime compensation.

She heard her stomach rumble. Quickly, Lexi turned around to face away from him. It was embarrassing for that to happen when someone who was more of the higher up was nearby.

"Don't mind me." She said meekly. Her face flushed bright red from it.

Patrick laughed, when he heard her stomach rumble. he wasn't laughing at her, just because it was a funny thing to hear. He ran his fingers through his hair, in an attempt to make his laughing seem less insulting, as hre realised it might have appeared to her.
He held the papers up then and said:
"I wasn't laughing at you, but it did sound funny. Thank you, Lexi, for this. I appreciate it."
He then had a brainwave.
"Say, to thank you for preparing this at such short notice, could I take you to dinner, Lexi?"

As a last ditch effort, Lexi was trying to find something to do to distract herself from Patrick's gaze. To hear a woman's stomach growling is just not as lady like as hearing a woman fart or burp loudly. She took a glance at the e-mails when Patrick said something about taking her out to dinner. While this caught Lexi's attention, she couldn't help but feel a bit weirded out by the sudden gesture, especially since it was the first either one of them had seen the other.

"I don't have any money. Also, I don't think I can pay you back the money if you treated me." She smiled nervously. "People like me don't make as much as you guys in the upper floors."

She glanced at the time on her computer. 4:29. Time really does go by fast.

Patrick could sense that Lexi felt unsure about his motives.
"If now isn't good for you, it's no problem, but I still owe you a favour for helping me out. I guess my invitation was a little sudden, given we've only just met and all."

He paused to draw breath and added:
"Just let me know if you want to take me up on my offer. It stands for as long as you want it to."
He turned to go, smiling as he did so, hoping she'd accept, but guessing she probably had a boyfriend waiting for her at home...

The gesture was both unexpected and sudden. If it was her director, then there wouldn't be much of a problem since she had known him from the beginning. What are the odds of a random higher-upper coming down to the floor and simply extend an invitation to someone who the only thing they did was print out reports?

Lexi thought over the pros and cons. Patrick seemed nice. But she felt a little weird just going out with someone who she assumed worked in the sales department. Then there was the other, more obvious, side of the benefits as she wouldn't have to worry about saving food for at least one night.

Kicking the leg of her desk to spin around, she noticed Patrick just started to leave when she called out to him.

"I get off at five." She said.

Patrick smiled at the unintended double-entendre. He turned to reply to Lexi.
"Great - I'll come pick you up at five, OK?"

Before he turned back to return to his Office, he marvelled at her beauty once more. He thought what it would feel like to have those legs wrapped around him, with her head resting back upon the pillow with her hair billowing out around it like a halo.
He imagined her voice, begging him to fuck her, harder, faster.

He smiled and then spun on his heel, and walked to the stairwell. This time, he'd avoid using the elevator.

"Yeah..." Lexi muttered as Patrick turned away and walked away from her cubicle. Turning her chair back to face her computer, she decided to check her e-mail to see if the director had anything planned. A few phone calls came in, mostly from either the director or one of the company's clients that she would have to transfer to the upper management should it be necessary.

She read through some of the director's e-mails, mostly giving her a heads up on some of the things she'll be expecting on Monday, including revising a report for one of the management who was taking a leave of absence. Lexi scrolled up and noticed a rather peculiar e-mail address. Her eyebrows raised at the address alone:

lookingatyou@gmail.com

To her, it sounded rather stupid. But like all mail servers, no matter how secure they are, there was bound to be some spam. But on the other hand, it could be from a client who was unfortunate enough to have an odd name like that. It would be easy to tell once she opens the e-mail address. After all, the second she realizes it's spam, Lexi will delete it fast.

I've seen you walking to the Office...

"Great," she said softly to herself. "Porn spam already. Jonathan's gonna love hearing about...."

But she stopped when she noticed that the mysterious person who wrote the e-mail described in a general, though somewhat creepy, detail on what she wore.

in your short skirts, with your long lean legs leading all the way down to sexy high heels. Hmmm.....I'd love to caress those legs!

Without a second thought, she immediately signed off of her e-mail account. Was it a general porn scam? Or maybe, just maybe, someone in the office was sending her that message. She glanced at the nearby cubicles. At least a dozen people, including Jonathan, the director she was under, saw her. Patrick couldn't have done it since he just left to go back up. Besides, how the hell would he have gotten her e-mail address?

Patrick returned to his desk, and marvelled at how he had managed to miss the fact that Lexi had joined the company.
The stunning brunette had captured his attention alright!
The rest of the afternoon passed quickly, but only because he was preparing his presentation for Andrew, the Sales Director.
As the clock pointed towards quarter-to-five, he then turned his thoughts to where to take her to dinner. He wondered whether she ate Chinese. She looked like she would. Perhaps she would need help using chopsticks - always a good way top break the ice and have an excuse to touch her hands, to show her how.
At five-to-five, he had already shut down his computer and filed everything away. He stood up and bid his colleagues goodbye for the weekend, and then headed for Lexi's desk.
As he approached, she seemed to be tidying the last bits & pieces away.

"Hi Lexi - are you ready to go - I thought we might try Chinese - do you like it?" Patrick asked.

Several minutes before five, Lexi's phone rang. Again, it was her director who wanted to fill her in on what she should expect for at least the next two weeks. Papers, statistics, business papers to fill out and a meeting with him to get the hard copies of the files. Lexi could have sworn she heard someone talk to her. Out of instinct, she held out her hand as if it were a signal for the individual to wait, thinking it was one of her co-workers.

"Yes...no, I thought the reports were supposed to be turned in by Thursday. Oh...so they're actually coming that day instead of Tuesday? And the meeting is...I see. No, that's fine. I can drop by. Okay...okay, sounds good. Bye."

Lexi looked up to see Patrick standing by her cubicle. With a small smile, she began to pack her things.

"Sorry, that was just my director on the line telling me that the next two weeks is going to be hell. Chinese sounds fine."

Shutting down her computer, she filed the folders in her drawer before she got out of the cubicle. As the two headed for the elevator, she then asked,

"So, which Chinese place did you have in mind?"

Patrick returned Lexi's smile, as he replied.
"It's called Wing's. A lovely little family restaurant a couple of miles from here. They do really tasty dishes and there is a little bit of privacy, if you want it, when you eat. I love it there."

Patrick pushed the elevator buutton when they reached it, trying to be a gentleman.

As they waited for the elevator to arrive, Patrick asked her:
"I don't wish to pry, but do you need to let anyone know you're going out?"

He waited for her reply, hoping she didn't think he was weird. he was just trying to put her at ease.

"Oh, that place. I think I've heard of it."

Lexi watched as Patrick pushed the button to go down. When he asked her if there were others that needed to know that she was going out, she couldn't help but feel a bit uncomfortable at the prying. He seemed eager to get to know her. Maybe a bit too eager. Silent for a moment or so, she then shrugged her shoulders.

"Not really, no."

She shifted her eyes from him to her shoes, then to the elevator buttons.

Patrick replied simply:
"That's OK, I just didn't want to worry anyone, and I'd assumed that you were attached, that's all!"

As they rode down in silence, he waited for the door to open and let Lexi exit first.

He felt a little embarrassed for prying - he didn't want her to think he was trying to seduce her!
He just wanted to say 'Thanks' for preparing the report for him.

As she stepped out ahead of him, he admired the firm curves of her ass under the skirt and the smooth lean lines of her legs.
She was pretty, but would she be interested in him?
Patrick didn't think so, not long-term anyway.

"My car's over here." he told her, as they walked across the Car Park.

They stopped next to his two-year old black Jaguar XF saloon, and he opened her door for her to get in, smiling as he did so.

As he closed the door once she was settled, and got in the driver's side, he started the engone with a muted growl and slowly drove out of the exit, and onto the main road towards Wing's.

With strains of Vivaldi playing from the CD player, he was relaxed and enjoying himself. He had a beautiful girl sat beside him and the prospect of a nice meal with pleasant company was a pleasing one.

"What's your favourite Chinese dish, Lexi?" he asked.

"Um...yeah." She muttered. While Patrick may seem like a nice guy, Lexi wasn't just going to expose her life story to him. Whether or not she was seeing someone wasn't his business. He didn't have to know about the few friends she had that lived on the same floor in the apartment.

If this is what he was like now, how much more was he going to pry when they ate dinner? Lexi probably shouldn't but hey, it's free food. Save a couple of dollars from ordering out at the nearby convenience store.

Lexi couldn't help but roll her eyes when Patrick introduced her to his Jaguar XF saloon. Well it's not a surprise he could afford that kind of car on his salary.

"Either the shrimp with walnuts or the crispy noodles. Dim sum are pretty good too. What about you?"

Patrick replied:
"Those are nice dishes, I have to admit." He paused before adding:
"I like the Szechuan Chicken, and Spicy Salty Squid. Sounds like an odd mix, but they both taste good!"

As they drove sedately towards Wing's, Patrick realised that probably nothing was going to come from tonight, but at least he had made another friend (he hoped).

Salesmen were notorious for being loners, or egotistical exhibionists, he just wanted to be liked, as well as rich!

He seemed nice. After all, he was going out of his way to treat her to dinner. Other than Jonathan and one of the other regulars at the floor, Lexi didn't have much of a social life outside of the building. The same mantra of waking up, working, then go back home to sleep as how it was for any working individual who was living alone and struggling with finances.

Most days, by the time she got home, Lexi couldn't really give a fuck.

The host guided the two to a table by the window overlooking the street and the cars that passed by. While Lexi looked over the menu, she then asked him.

"So how long have you been working?"

Patrick replied:
"I've been at the firm for about five years now. It's a good place to work. They pay well, and our product lines are competing well in theri markets."

He picked up his menu and asked her:
"What did you do before coming here? Another Office job?"
