Housing depends on the area

San Francisco area: According to the latest guidelines, a family of four making $117,400 a year in San Mateo, San Francisco and Marin counties qualifies for their low-income housing programs.

Los Angeles area: An individual earning $50,500 or less qualifies

San Diego area: $50,720 for a family of four

Fresno area: $33,450 for an individual
