That's interesting. I like high fantasy stories too. I tend to like playing elves, of course, and even Drow/dark elves, sometimes even shapechangers. I was interested in your introduction thread because of how you mentioned playing the same characters continuously in long role plays. The way you talked about it seemed like you might be an old style gamer, like me. By Old style, I mean back in the pencil, paper, and dice age. Pre-video and computer era, when imagination was paramount and the plot wasn't all worked out in advance.

The one thing I miss here at Lit was the chance to develop the life of my characters as they went on many adventures.

I am one who prefers the idea of tabletop D&D types...

However, I still make a plot, since characters tend to develop better when they have a goal in mind rather than being like us humans (or pickles as the case may be)who only vaguely have an idea what our end goal is.
If not a plot, I hold a bunch of sub-plot cards at hand just in-case.

The RP you're referring to... was designed very specifically for my one time partner... to give her a world where we could reside, since... we could not likely meet for some time (did eventually but meh). That one lasted a year and a 1/4...

Thing is though, it isn't hard to set up such a long term life for your characters, its just a matter of continuing to use them, if you're fond of them, developing your character over a wide series of RPs... developing history, however inconsistent it may seem if you keep that history strictly to what occured in those RPs.

I've only recently joined the tabletop gaming community so I could design a tale I'm currently developing, codenamed Asmaldia until I can think of a name for the story. The RP is on another site, with a much, much smaller RP family.
Ahh... but I can't turn it into the RP it was meant to be since its one of those family friendly boards sponsered by Nintendo directly, despite so few of the sites users/fanbase are kids anymore.

He tilted his head into her ministrations, letting her direct his head with the touch of her fingers on the back of his head in his hair. He sighed softly as she kissed along his jawline, reciprocating his earlier gesture, only doing a much better job of it. He belt her hot breath on his skin, and then turned his head to hers as she spoke.

He shrugged in response to her first question, deciding that he, in particular, did not really care to the answer. But in response to her second comment, he could only grin woflishly. "Aye. And they don't even cost extra." He looked back into her eyes, and then let her follow his gaze down to her chest and her sheer top. His hand slid up to cup one of her breasts in his palm and he gave it a gentle, teasing squeeze. He then pulled his glass away from her lips and then drank down the rest of it, setting the empty glass aside.

"Another?" he asked quietly.
