Alexander exhaled softly as he looked at Angelina. "You get hungry enough, you'd be very surprised at what you'd eat," his voice was low but deadly serious. He didn't reveal that he himself had once lived, for close to two years, without a roof over his head.

She watched him cook the fish. "We'll take care of each other, my love." She reached in his carrier and pulled out some figs. They could eat those with the fish. She may not be eating in a dining room as she used to, but they were together and that was important.

She did worry about when it would get colder. They were not dressed for winter, nor for even rain. This time of year, with autumn upon them, it would be getting cold soon. They needed to hurry to Bourges.

"Tomorrow we need to hurry along. Not only are we battling the monster, but the elements."

Alexander exhaled softly as he slid the flat rock and fish a bit away from the fire. "The demonic beast that showed at your home, to me, seemed akin to a beast, likely not much more intelligent than most wild animals. However, the one that tracked us down... seemed more intelligent, not by much, perhaps, but it means that there may be others just as intelligent as you or I, to think strategically enough to look away from the major roads as many would assume we'd rely on those. More importantly, we must find out who is sending them and how to stop them," his tone was contemplative.

Angelina felt a flutter deep inside of her. She had not thought of that. Someone or something intelligent sending those things out after them. And why them? It must be Alexander that it was after. There was nothing important about her.

And how could they fight something so evil?

"I had not thought of that. How do we battle something so evil? And why is it doing this? Why are they after you? Why? How do we find them?"

Alexander exhaled slowly as he had thought similarly, though he suspected that there was more to Angelina than even she possibly knew. ""I don't know, but trying to figure out such darkness can be dangerous as that sort can easily corrupt.I am nobody so unique and special, myself, Angelina, though creatures like those we've seen only attack for two main reasons: fear or hunger. I don't even want to know what their diet entails, which is very unlikely anyway. That leaves that there is something about either you or I that they fear. Therefore, we need to know precisely what it is they fear... and give them a very big reason to fear it. However, if it ever enters your mind or anyone else's, raising the dead... is distasteful," his voice was low and thoughtful. He really doubted such a thought would occur to Angelina, and from her affronted look, she didn't like the idea much more than he did, he thought.

"It has to be you that frightens them. You made that bow and arrows appear out of a flash of light and you were able to kill that creature. Have you done such before? And you had your eyes glow blue. And that mark upon you also lit up earlier. You have magical powers that must scare it. Though I find you not scary at all. To me, you are my love, and I would do anything for you."

With that, she leaned in and kissed him. "In addition, you are very knowledgable. And I am fond of the way you prepare fish." She smiled at him.

Alexander's low laugh escaped him before he realized it. "You underestimate yourself. Often, it is in our most trying times that strength within us awakens that even we are unaware of. I have little doubt that you are much more powerful than you appear. It may just need the right spark to ignite and grow," he said softly and tenderly. He was touched by her love and compassion, in addition to the confidence she seemed to hold in him. "Remember that even if I had the luck to kill one of those beasts, it is unlikely to work a second time. Power without knowledge and control is all but useless. If anything, it puts those near the one with the power in danger and I don't want you hurt because of me, though... being separated from you would likely be more dangerous since you would lack my protection," he said quietly, frowning slightly

She grew quiet. Deep within her she feared that he would leave her, thinking to keep her safe. Maybe she was slowing him down. She did not want to be a burden to him. And she would be lost without him. But she loved him enough to want only the best for him. She would much rather die with him than live without him.

She resolved to be a better aid to him. Even though they were not married, she had thought of herself as his wife. But she wasn't. And the time may come when he would return from whence he came, leaving her here. Alone. He may regret having been burdened with her.

He talked about her having power. She had no power. She was a woman with very little knowledge. And she certainly did not know how to fight a monster, or anything controlling a monster.

Alexander cocked his head, an eyebrow rising at the dejected look on Angelina's face. "I will never abandon you, if that thought crossed your mind. You are anything but a burden to me. If anything, you are what keeps me pushing myself further... not to mention that... if I had to deal with the idea of being stuck in the 1490s when I'm a guy that was born in the 1990s... I'd probably go mad, and if I actually have supernatural or superhuman powers... that would be a VERY BAD THING," his voice was low and determined.

"To be honest with you, I never really saw myself getting married at my age... my time, it's not uncommon for people to get married a bit older in life. Most I've known, on average, were mid to late twenties if not thirties. More often, people my age are either focused on getting into college or finding a job. I didn't expect to almost fall into the lap of the most beautiful woman I've ever met... or... make passionate love to her," he said, sighed softly as his tone became very shy at the end.

"I can say this, though... given the choice, I'd so marry you... though at the moment... well," he said shyly, looking away as he blushed deeply as he could feel his stiff manhood throbbing and aching.

"Worry not, dear Alexander. I would not wish to make you unhappy." She decided to change the subject. It was apparent that times were different between his and hers. "At this moment what?"

She changed the subject.

"Let us partake of this fish. And since we need to be on our way early, we can sleep early." It was frightening how he seemed to know her thoughts.

Alexander smirked slightly, amused by her glance at him as she looked away. "It isn't your mind I can read. It's your beautiful, expressive face. Funny how I never used to do more than glance at other people, yet even the smallest shifts in your face... are almost as hypnotizing as your amazing body, which I intend to wash thoroughly after we eat, if only to see you squirming... though I do love your hands... and other things... on my own body," he said teasingly. He brushed his fingers through her silky blonde hair, amused as she inhaled slowly.

He passed her half the fish, glancing over at the heavily scorched trees and earth.

But she decided to bide her time. She did not want to worry him.

Alexander sighed softly as he looked up at the stars. "I'm not surprised that you wouldn't know of him. He's a character in a long series of stories. He's also known as the 'Sorcerer Supreme', though... it wouldn't really surprise me if it was possible to encounter someone who may be connected to him... or the supernatural plane in general. It would be greatly helpful to find even an abandoned cabin or home, himé," his tone was contemplative until he purred the last word with a smoldering look towards Angelina. "Now, finish eating so I can wash every inch of your skin... and better yet, part of the pool next to us is naturally heated, so you'd have a nice hot bath," his tone was teasing now.

Alexander tilted his head, thinking. "I have to wonder if there are beehives around here. Easy source of honey, which would also be a good source of income," he said thoughtfully. "Fortunately, there's another source of a very different kind of honey which I've grown quite addicted to," his tone was warm and mildly lustful as he stared at Angelina. It was, honestly, hard to resist Angelina's beautiful body.

Alexander chuckled softly as he finished his own fig before getting a soft washcloth, amused as he picked up the body wash and shampoo. He knelt down several feet closer to the waterfall than Angelina was. "Come over here, sweetheart. The water is much warmer," his tone was mildly amused. The water was, in fact, a good bit warmer than a good bath.

Alexander smirked slightly as he shifted, sighing softly as he let his feet dip into the warm-hot water. Simultaneously, he twisted the lid on the clear plastic bottle, which he'd filled with the warm-hot water and set aside to cool a bit, before he upended it, pouring the warm water all over Angelina's head so her hair and much of her upper body was soaked. From the yelp of surprise that issued from her, she hadn't expected it at all.

Alexander chuckled softly as he ran his fingers through her wet hair before kissing her forehead. "How else will I wash your hair? Trust me, trying to wash dry hair isn't very easy. Though I'll admit that it is very difficult to resist making love to you every chance I can, himé," his tone was teasing but tender and shy. He glanced away as he reached for the shampoo whilst leaving the body wash and soft washcloth in easy reach of Angelina's hands, not realizing that a good bit of the water had splashed back on himself, emphasizing his muscles in the firelight and especially emphasizing a very obvious large bulge in his pants.

Alexander gasped softly in surprise. "With a woman as beautiful as you? It's kind of hard to not be distracted. Let me put it this way, you're the most beautiful woman I've ever seen," he said in a half joking tone. He could feel himself twitching at her touch. He exhaled softly as he distracted himself by pouring a generous amount of shampoo into her hair and massaging it into a generous lather, making sure to thoroughly massage her scalp.

He felt her shudder, which made him smile. "It's so easy to overlook the simple things like this, but I'll take every opportunity to make sure you feel so much happiness and pleasure, it'll be hard not to get addicted," his voice was low and reverent as he tilted his head, kissing her throat as he washed her hair gently.
