One of the more helpful lenses I've ever read on pantsers v/ plotters was a re-framing device.
Essentially, they both have to dip toes in the creativity and revision waters. What they choose to "call" or how they view those bodies of water doesn't change their core molecular makeup, H2and0.
Plotters are more revising/rework as they go whereas pantsters are releasing the Kraken and will similarly revise just through all they've thrown into the world.
My personality type doesn't mesh well with having to euthanize large amounts of concepts I've committed to page. And my revision skills don't feel solid enough to rely on truly separating wheat from chaff.
As long as you inject necessary structure before the final product, whatever way works for your brain map and keeps you engaged is what's "best."
(though one should boot camp the other side's process just to test and be sure you are built for one style over the other.)
