You're missing the nature of the lit PB. There are plenty of solid blue and solid red forums. The partisans here would do all their political posting at any of those forums if they wanted party gatekeepers. Some of them want dissent, disagreement, etc., and some want targets for hate and scorn. If you drive away the dissent and the targets, your teammates will need new targets, starting possibly with you. The PB would devolve into a circular firing squad.

And, umm, did you know this forum has an ignore feature? You might find it useful for discussing your fun topics.

I'm trying to avoid insulting your intelligence, but damn, try having some.

Im certainly no Maga but policy and politics aren't same. They of course are tied together but not same. And for us Americans our country was set up to be political. Why do you assume I only speak out here? I’m on other social media, and I’m making posts there too. This morning I spent 30 minutes bucking up a real-life friend who was despairing about our ability to thwart ICE. We parted ways with her feeling more confident about America’s power to resist fascism.

I stuck around on the Politics board after Trump was elected to defend America and American values. I stuck around on the Politics board after October 7th to defend Jews. I’ve been called names and vilified for both stances, but my convictions remain firm. I do not expect everyone to stand with me, but I will lock arms in solidarity with anyone who does.
