The Relic [closed]

Alethi laughed and took him in, popping out Indiana Jones. "Don't ask me to play Crystal Skull, please." She climbed onto the couch, cuddling to Jason and pulling the covers she prepared, finding so much peace and solace in his arms.

"So...our very first date, huh?" Alethi took a deep breath. "For some reason, I'm not pregnant. I'm supposed to be ovulating during...you know, but I'm not. I think something's wrong with me."

Jason looked at her. "It can't be the implant right? You aren't all sex crazy so it can't be that. Are you sure you aren't pregnant?" He asked hugging her tight against him, letting her know it was okay if she was. "It could be just stress and your body trying to recover from injury. I heard that was a thing that can happen to women. When I was at war often our female soldiers would stop having periods because the body couldn't deal with the stress of war."

"I hope so..." in a lower whisper, she said. "I'd really like to have your kids some--" She bit her lips. They weren't a couple for even a whole day yet and already she was thinking about marriage. "Uh...oh look! Indie's trapped! You know I never got his fear of snakes. But then again, that's what makes him human right?" She beamed hoping he'll take the bait of changing subjects.

Jason raised his eyebrow at her comment about babies. But let it go as she clearly regretted saying it and promptly changed the subject. He nodded and shrugged, "I'm more afraid of giant dick monsters now a days. But that's because I am a real man."

He held her tighter and snuggled back into the couch. He couldn't remember the last time he had been so relaxed. Maybe he could get used to this.

"Ugh! Don't even remind me. That thing tried to rape me." She shivered at the thought. "Anyway, Indie's a real man too. Just deathly afraid of snakes. He's been my hero, you know. That's why I went into this archaeology stuff."

She snuggled closer to him, letting her head rest on his broad chest. "Maybe one day you'll tell me all about your stunts in the military."

Jason ran his fingers through her hair as her head rested on his chest. "Maybe later. It isn't pretty stuff." He said softly, clearly not really proud of the stuff he had to do in the service.

As the movie played Jason felt himself drifting off. The warmth of her body against his, the relaxation of knowing all their craziness was finished and they could try getting back into a normal routine.

As the movie went on, she felt his breathing go steadier and more even until she was certain he was sleeping. She smiled. It was nice of him to try and watch a movie with her that he clearly wasn't interested in. Not wanting to disturb him, she turned off the movie and lay her head on his, feeling where his ribs had fractured with feather light touches over his shirt. "I'm so sorry for everything," she whispered. "I promise to make it up to you."

She kissed his chest and lay with him. Her heart beating in time with his, their breaths in sync and their bodies fitting together perfectly. She prayed that their relationship would be forever as she drifted off to sleep in his arms.
