Mussolini's Italy also supported Franco. Both he and Hitler saw the Spanish Civil War as an opportunity to train their forces.

The USSR supported the other side, but not as effectively. The International Brigades fought bravely against Franco but were outgunned and lacked air power.

Spain has still not come to terms with the impact of their civil war. The separatist movement in Catalonia remembers that their part of Spain was wrecked by Franco's forces. They see the current Spanish government as still being successors to the Falangists. Catalonia was treated badly in the years after the civil war. The wounds of a civil war take generations to heal.

I dismissed revolution in America until I read areal history of the 1930s Spanish Civil War. The same will come to us.

Commie vs Nazi. (Obama vs Clinton) and of course Soros for Cesar. Poor Spain didn't stand a chance.
