The next morning Megan woke early, she'd had a restless night. Not wanting to eat breakfast alone, she decided to see if Miss Erin was up. So, getting dressed Megan heads down to Erin's house.
Knocking on the door Megan was just about to go back to her place when it opens.
"Ohhh sorry Megan, one of those mornings for me, come on in."
Megan smiled pleasantly, "Thank you Miss Erin, I was wondering if you were up to a breakfast, I didn't feel like eating alone."
Erin gave the young teacher a knowing look. "Duncan didn't spend the night, did he???"
Erin saw the crimson blush, Megan’s shocked look.
"I know he visited you last night and well knowing him and what he was after.”
Megan’s blush went from crimson to scarlet.
“No, he most certainly did “NOT” stay over last night. What kind of a girl do you think I am? I just want to be selective Erin. Really he is old enough to be my father.”
The rest of the morning was breakfast. Exchanging snippets of information and gossip about the rash of murders. It was about 10:30 when Megan left. At 11:00 Erin received a call from Captain Peter Lucifer.
“You know the new school teacher……………I believe she likes to be called Megan, Erin. I have decided that she should take a little trip to China and I want you to deliver her into my hands Erin. It seems Duncan has failed to seduce her. So……………”
There was no need for Lucifer to go into details. Batard had failed and so Megan’s fate was sealed.
“I'll let you know when to deliver our young school teacher. I am sure you remember where you brought Sally Ginger. You remember Erin, I told you I’d get her off the island…….I did all the way to China Erin.”
