Do you believe everything about human evolution they taught you in school?

Some parts of it may be fact, but without a “missing link”...... well.......

What theory of evolution are you referring to? Classical Darwinism? Genetic Darwinism? The Modern Synthesis? Complexity Evolution, if we take that to be distinct from the Modern Synthesis?

I think the theory has holes in it. But as a simplified version of evolution, it's sufficient to teach children the basics. It is up to the adult those children grow into to delve further if they so choose.

Well, compared to a seven-day Creation, it stands up pretty well.

My bio teacher was a gay pedo that eventually oft himself. I liked him. He was also an atheist and a progressive...well, liberal back then. I've read Galapagos, etc. How we got here is the Gordian knot of questions. We will never know the answer. Deal with it as you may. :)

Young Earth Creationism shoulda been dead almost two hundred years ago. Thankfully, it's mostly limited to some ignorant Americans.

Yeah, the Big Bang is a creationist theory. In the beginning there was a Big Bang!

The Electric Universe is interesting, but unfortunately, none of it has been proven. They got math, but it isn't supported... yet. I really like the EU's theories on black holes and comets. It sounds good to me!

When creationist spew "but...but...Missing Link!" nonsense

The "missing link" is a non-scientific term that typically refers to transitional fossils. Creationists have used the concept of a missing link to argue that evolution is not a valid theory.

The term "missing link" has fallen out of favor with biologists because it implies the evolutionary process is a linear phenomenon and that forms originate consecutively in a chain. Instead, "last common ancestor" is preferred since this does not have the connotation of a linear evolution, as evolution is a branching process.

Big Bang cosmology describes the expansion and evolution of the universe from a prior, hotter, denser, and lower entropy state. Strictly speaking, it is not an account of creation.

the only thing i have to comfort me when i see and hear people talk the way they do about that shit is that there are also plenty of modern americans not stuck in the 18th century way of thinking.

most of it is all because of stupid religion. children are indoctrinated - they believe what trusted adults are telling them as the truth. religion abuses this by feeding them great big steaming piles of bull and make sure they say grace before chowing down on it. the roman catholic school i was in till 11 years old didn't even address other religions - you were either catholic or one of the unfortunates who'd never get into heaven, which is why it was so important for missionaries to 'save' little starving black babies and bring them into the light of knowledge of christ.

some children manage to move on and see the world without those religious blinkers, others are destined to remain content in ignorance (just like dear ol' god wanted from the very beginning, ammirite?) and with a sense of being 'special' because they have god on their side

Charlie Daniels - Simple Man comes to mind

Well, you know what's wrong with the world today
People done gone and put their Bible's away
They're living by the law of the jungle not the law of the land.

The guy who thought up the Big Bang was a Catholic Priest.

FFS, the retard's a creationist too? Why am I not shocked.

Charlie is like the koolaid man of koolaid drinkers...jesus what a terrible example.

Do you think God looks down at you in your panties, after who knows how many homosexual encounters, multiple marriages, while you point fingers and judge so many others.. and is proud to be your heavenly father?
