The threads seem to be a little puerile

Yeah, i like being able to discuss things frankly, but i don't think that we should let the place dissolve entirely. (unless in the opinion of the original posters in this long-dead thread, we already have.) its good to be able to discuss things seriously too.

I wonder if this sort of demise isn't the fate of all internet forums, though. They start off vigorous, and then slowly go downhill to a lowest common denominator. At some places, thats the constant internet hugs+lovefest, but here it seems to be the SEX SEX SEX, combined with the internet self esteem boosting. Theres not necessarily anything wrong with it.. but it is boring.

I hadn't realized this was such an old thread though. Wondered why i hadn't seen alot of these guys around so much.

And kbate.. whoa i didn't get it the first time through, but you read my mind.

The only thing I can say about that is that this is Literotica. The site's purpose is titillation, and that comes through on the forum.

That tends to be my experience as well. A forum starts with a few people who generally get along and discuss some interesting topics, but eventually it either brings on more and more members until it invetably slides downhill, or it dies because it only has a few members.

I agree for the most part with whats been said although there does need to be some room for those, lighter threads on the board. After all, the nature of the website is sex so that does kinda guide the threads a little. I've started some serious and fluff threads and got a mixture of respones. I guess if you want to discuss an issue write an informed or personal opinion on the subject and hope others will post.

One thing that irritates me slightly is where a long news article is posted and then your expected to comment on it. From the top of my head, 'gay guy attacked in bar' or something along those lines. if i want headline news i'll read a paper. what makes it marginally better is if the thread starters opinion is given before hand, saying how they feel. basically, if the thread is started well, it should govern the type of responces that they will get.
