Good luck, TJ...promise them some of "Sir Tony's TJ Sweet Cream"--that should give you a leg up for the position! Maybe even TWO legs up! ROFL :D

thank you AA (hahhahhaha very FUNNY!) and Bigsis!!! :)

today is the DAY!!! :)

It went.....

and now I have to wait TWELVE hours from now (its nearly
midnite here) to call them at noontime Monday to find
out if I made the call back or not. Keep your fingers crossed!

All that happened today was just filling out a form, watching
a promo video, then getting to do a 30 second read thru of
a commercial ------I got to do the Cool Whip commercial! :D
While doing the read thru I was videotaped. So we'll see how
that panned out.......

:)

Oh yes...also had a 1-2 min. interview w/ one of the talent scouts....
who reviewed my application and photo and asked me a bunch
of questions.

Best of luck, beautiful TIGS!!!

I am waiting to hear the GOOD News!!

The result

I made the phone call noontime, and I was told that
out of the 50 people who auditioned throughout
yesterday, I MADE THE FINAL TWELVE!!!!!!

HOWEVER..........

they want me to pay upfront for the workshop/training
that they offer.........the talent scout who interviewed
me yesterday (and whom i talked w/ on the phone today)
reccomended the "Level 2" course, which lasts twenty
weeks in both acting and modeling aspects, working w/
different coaches. That course is $1950 (Level One
course is $1275). I think its crazy to pay all upfront, so
I asked about payment plans, and the only way that
can be done is if I pay half now, half next month, and
I told her that was still too much.......and I explained
that I don't make enough at my current job (I told her
what I do) and I have bills and other things to pay for.
But she then asked me if my parents could help....I said
that they were both at work but I could talk to them when
they got home. She told me to give her a call by 7pm
tonite as that is when she'll be there.

I just got off the phone w/ my dad and while he was
happy for me that I made the final 12, he said that was
way too much money to spend on training, and
recommended that I don't do it. He even said "how
about a putting down a deposit, i.e. $100, to see how
the classes go?" I told him they don't do anything like
that but I would ask. Plus he also mentioned "being
pressured to pay up front" was way too much.

And he also said that my mom would definitely say no
because of the money involved. FUCK.

Anybody who knows of anything cheaper but worthwhile
to get into this business please let me know :(

First of all let me say congrats on making the final 12. But I sort of agree with the parents that that is alot of money to pay up front and not have any guarantees. I have always heard that you should not go with a company that makes you pay upfront like that. However, I know that John Roberts is a very well known company and have never heard anything bad about them. I understand about the money/budget concern. Would it be possible to get a loan if that is what you really want to do? Could they possibly give you some tips on how you can take some classes to get some of the training but not have to put so much upfront? What about grants? Some places offer scholarships for ppl that they really think would be really good. I don't know I am too short to have ever looked into modeling so not sure exactly how that works. And the biggest suggestion is to pray that God will help you know what is the best thing to do and that if it is HIS will that you get it or find a way to make it happen, if not, then this is apparently is not what he had in mind for you. Just hold on and I am sure that whatever happens when it comes, will be well worth the wait. My thoughts and prayers are with you, I know how you feel about your job and working nights. I am in the same boat, and I wish you nothing but the best! Hugs and kisses! ((((((((((((((TIGERJEN)))))))))))

thanks toni! *big hugs*

i just talked to my mom...since she just got home from
work......and she said it was ridiculous w/ that amount
of money.....that they only want the money.....who
knows if anything can come out of it.....plus she also
mentioned that she had watched a "20/20" or "Primetime"
show on girls/women who had put together portfolios
for modeling agencies and they ended up in the end
not being legit models/acting but ended up being call
girls and the like. Plus my mom also brought up the point
of "what if they used your (refering to me) pix on websites
w/out your permission?" and stuff like that.

Plus she said "don't even bother calling them back."

*big sigh*

I'm still upset over this.......if anyone out there knows of
any LEGITIMATE agencies that I don't have to pay for
training (my mom said that I shouldn't have to pay for
something like this)......and the agency people do....let
me know.

Lilsis.......... I modeled for many years when I was in my teens. I went to a modeling school and I had to get my own pictures and jobs. This school was a well known one too. I don't know what this place is offering you but I know you had to be a certain height just to enter my school. Toni is right......this work is hard and short lived. Not everyone becomes famous or makes it.

Of course I am famous I am *1sexylady*..LMAO :)

I paid alot of money and worked for a couple of years but it is very hard and you spend more then you make... Nothing is a given......they can promise you the world and you will still have nothing......

I am happy you made it to 12.....but I say choke it up to a experience... Save your money...;)
