The Troll Tower

I have in mind a ribald tale - a merging of themes from several fairy tales but being more true to the original, darker stories versus the Disneyfied sorts. A prince captures a troll as a gift for his intended betrothed and has locked it away for the safekeeping of all – well, that’s the story. The reality is a twisted tale of lust and greed.

Yes, there is to be both a prince and a princess. And they are to marry. But – he’s 100% gay. She’s plain looking and thick, heading to fat. His older brother gets the kingdom he's essentially getting kicked out of - and hers is rather small and just okay, not rich. Necessity drives the two of them together. And yes, there's to be a troll but not the usual CGI dumb brute. Rather a decent sort but pagan, a gentle soul who's hung like a warhorse. And of course there's a tower, where the princess upon being gifted the troll has him whisked away to. The tower cell is sumptuous, the troll becomes her toy and... And yet this is only half the story.

You see, the princess, to borrow the phrase, knows her limitations. And has a beautiful younger sister. A mad wizard is involved naturally who has a most interesting commission. Firstly - a love potion. When any suitable suitor comes along she takes it and WHAM the guy falls in love with her. Second - a potion to induce wanton, lascivious and lewd thoughts as well as behavior when taken. She wants - no, she absolutely needs heirs dammit! If not just to keep the kingdom going but also to keep her head on her shoulders!
Third - the sister. A prison magical. The mage creates a mirror - the younger sister is made to drink a variation of the second potion, the effect is permanent - stripped naked and tossed into the mirror, which becomes her prison. The mirror is hung with care in the same cell the troll is imprisoned in. Of course, the older sister takes delight in the torment of her sibling as she visits the cell and, uhm - whiles the time with her pet...

You've got some really fun ideas, but there are a LOT of plot threads here I feel like throwing this all together at once would be overwhelming and confusing!

If you wanted to write this as a series you could introduce one of these plots or complications per chapter.

It would probably be a good idea for some of these plots to be self-contained and resolved by the end of the chapter (like the love potion story, or the magic mirror story), and others could be longer arcs (like the need for an heir).

Yeah, most of my story ideas trend towards a series.

The door to the inn slammed open - an icy blast heralded the entrance of a lone figure. "Shut the damned door" shouted one of the regulars, huddled near the hearth, nursing his jack of sour ale. Chuckling the stranger slammed the door shut, turned then strode to the counter where the innkeeper held court.

"I've a rapacious thirst" the figure growled. "And not enough coin - I come to propose a trade my good fellow."

I chuckled and grinned to my companions. "Jonas part with silver?" Thinad wheezed with a snort. "Never."

All eyes were at the board which our host Jonas served court - and drink. The stranger shrugged and his cloak must have parted as we all next heard "Now - none of that here! The same as every other guest of this house - good drink for good..."

"I have a story which will either swell or dampen the crotch of all who resides in this house - and if your wenches are so inclined will produce even more copper than they're accustomed. I imagine you a smart fellow - and as such get a cut of their, erm... wages eh?"

So yeah - I figure a series. With a narrator. Not my usual but ought to be fun.
