After we heard about the virus, my family and I knew we needed to leave the city. Luckily, we had a secluded cabin near the top of a mountain that would be easy to defend. The only problem was getting there. We gathered nonperishable food that could last a month in our van.

As we drove through the streets, we saw disaster. People were being chased by those who had been infected. My older sister held me close, telling me everything was going to be fine. We had almost made it out of the city when a car slammed into us, causing us to flip several times.

Mom and dad were dead, and the noise had attracted a ton of the infected. My older sister grabbed the keys and tossed them to me along with my backpack. "Go!" My father was a doctor who knew the virus could be spread by blood, so he had made us cover our faces before we left, so no blood entered our mouths or eyes.

My sister and I ran as fast as our legs could carry us, when a car passed in front of us. "Stop! Wait"

Thomas wasn't scared of a situation like this. He was determined to survive the second he heard the news of a wide spread viral infection that demented the minds of those the virus touched.

He shut the T.V off, and grabbed his rifle from the basement, a few other supplies, a few sets of clothes, and some food, He grabbed the keys to his Subaru, and headed upstairs. "Frank!" He called out for his brother a few times. "Shit.." He said, once he realized that his brother had vacated the house, along with his family.

Twenty minutes later, he was travelling down the streets, watching the chaos unfold around him, burning buildings, and flipped cars. That's when he saw a car mindlessly T-bone a car, causing it to flip. "That's, Horrific." He said to himself, expecting no survivors of the accident, he noticed down the other street, a horde of the infected stormed to the wreckage, to clean anything remaining.

Thats when he noticed to women, both wearing masks, tumbling out of the car, and straight into the main wake of the infected. He quickly made the decision, and pulled up next to the two. "If you want to survive, you have five seconds to get into this car." He said, shoving the passenger door open for the two girls, and unlocking the back doors.

"If you want to survive, you have five seconds to get into this car." Cassie and I jumped inside, quickly closing the door. My big sister hugged me as we drove. Tears rolled down my cheeks, realizing our parents had died. "Mom and Dad..." I said quietly as she rubbed my back.

Cassie turned towards the driver. "Thank you so much. If there's anything we can do in return, just tell us. I'm Cassie and this is Megan by the way." her voice was somber, but she stayed strong and kept the tears back.

I looked out the window sadly, wondering what would happen now, on their own. I wrapped my arms around my legs and lowered my eyes. I was the shy girl o the family

A lump grew in Thomas's throat, as he realized he hadn't even thought to call his parents. "I- I am sorry that you lost you're parents." He paused, letting them wipe their tears, and calm down. "I am Thomas.." He said, not sure of what he should say two the two girls. "I am glad to meet you Carrie and Megan, Even if it is under some of the worst possible conditions." He said, offering his condolences, "If you want to, You can travel with me, or, I can take you to the nearest Army base, you will be safe either way."

He continued going down streets, the infected where everywhere, but he was determined not to pick up anyone else, So he drove until he hit the freeway, which was nearly vacant, so he speed up, zipping out of the city, and up north.

"I- I am sorry that you lost your parents." I just nodded as my sister held me close, stroking my hair. But crying wasn't going to bring them back. "I am Thomas. I am glad to meet you Cassie and Megan, Even if it is under some of the worst possible conditions."

"It's good to meet you too, Thomas," Cassie said. It was clear I wasn't in the mood to talk. I stared out the window sadly, watching the survivors and infected we passed.

"If you want to, You can travel with me, or, I can take you to the nearest Army base, you will be safe either way."

Finally, I spoke up. "Where are you headed? We were going to our cabin up in the mountains. It's pretty secluded and would be easy to defend from the infected."

I paused, looking at him, and spoke again. "Do you have any family?"

"I had-" He corrected himself, "Have a brother." He said, he wasn't sure where Frank was in this giant mess of a pandemic. "I don't know where he is, He wasn't in my house this morning, I know he couldn't have died, He is smarter than that." He said, rambling on, trying to strike hope back into his heart.

"So I am assuming we ALL are going to the cabin?" He said, driving out of city limits, and pulling into a rest area. "Where exactly is this cabin." He said, getting out of the car, and grabbing his rifle, just in case someone accidentally transported some infected outside of the city.

"And if you have any food, weapons, now would be a good time to tell me, because I have a freezer back here with some meat in it." He said. He was smart enough to bring the freezer, because without it, the meat would surely spoil before he gets to wherever he is going.

Cassie reached forward and squeezed his arm reassuringly.

Cassie: "I'm sure he's alright. He may already be out of the city by now. Maybe we'll find him while we're driving. It's probably best for us to stick together. That way we can sleep in shifts and watch for any infected."

"So I am assuming we ALL are going to the cabin?" Cassie and I nodded. If we were going to defend the cabin, it would be better to have more than a couple of people inside. "Where exactly is this cabin."

Cassie and I removed what covered our face and stepped out with him. I pulled a ma out of our backpack and began showing him the directions.

Megan: "How much gas do you have in your car. Enough to get there and back here without stoping?"

"And if you have any food, weapons, now would be a good time to tell me, because I have a freezer back here with some meat in it."

We had some meet in our bags and put it inside.

Megan: "Most of the food was in our car. We didn't have time to get it after the wreck."

"How much gas do you have in your car. Enough to get there and back here without stoping?"
Megan asked. "We will." He said, examining the map, and triple checking his math. He moved away from the car, and closer to the restrooms of the rest area, and gripped his rifle harder, not knowing what to expect. There where a few cars, but unless there was no one here, He wasn't going to take the few supplies that a family might need.

After he checked the restrooms, which where indeed vacant, he proceeded to one of the cars, and pulled the handle. Apparently the previous owners where in quiet the hurry, as the car wasn't locked. Inside, he found a first aid kit, an invaluable kit, and some bags of rice. "They knew what they where doing." He murmured to himself, gathering the supplies, and piling them into the back of his car.

He then proceeded to the second, then the third, then the last car, collecting numerous supplies, flashlights, rope, blankets, surprisingly people just, left it all. "Okay." He said, returning with the last bundle of supplies, the car almost full. "That should be more than enough." He said, closing the trunk, and returning to the front of the car. "If you need to use the restroom, now would be the best moment to." He said, looking from Cassie to Megan.

Cassie and I grabbed our pistols and machetes and went to the restroom. He had checked for infected, but one could show up. Best to stay prepared for anything. We were fast, knowing the sooner we got to the cabin, the better. I was washing my hands as Cassie came out of the restroom.

Cassie: You know, he's kind of cute.

I couldn't help but roll my eyes. This was very typical for Cassie.

Megan: End of the world and you want to talk about boys? Really Cassie? Hurry up, we should get going.

Cassie and I hurries to the car, and she got into the front passenger seat. I buckled my seatbelt and looked outside. I knew Cassie was trying to distract herself from the fact that our parents were dead, but I was having a hard time not thinking about it. I looked out the window sadly, thinking about the eighteen years I spent with them.

I sighed, lying down in the backseat, trying to relax

"Alright." He said, entering the car, and looking at Cassie. He then pulled out of the rest area, and drove onto the freeway, up north to the cabin. "So. Uh Cassie, did you have any, boyfriends?" He asked awkwardly. He hoped the answer was no. He couldn't help look over Cassie, she was a woman, and he was a man, there was no crime in it.

"And Meg, I am really sorry I couldn't have saved your parents.." He said, re-offering his condolences.

"So. Uh Cassie, did you have any, boyfriends?" Cassie giggled, smiling at him. I could tell that they were going to get along well. At least she was happy. And she was right; Thomas was kind of cute. He seemed like one of those guys who could survive in the wilderness, with a rugged, tough kind of face.

Cassie: Well only a few, but nothing too serious. My last boyfriend and I broke up a couple of months ago.

"And Meg, I am really sorry I couldn't have saved your parents." I nodded, a tear rolling down my cheek. My sister reached back and squeezed my hand gently. She knew this was especially hard on me. My first and only boyfriend had died in a car accident a year ago. I had difficulty getting close to anyone afterwords, scared I would lose them.

Cassie: Meg, I promise, no one else is going to die. I won't leave you.

I nodded, closing my eyes and falling asleep.

Cassie: She lost someone she really cared about not too long ago. She... She's had some problems making friends or dating since then. She isolated herself from everyone but our parents and me. Now they're dead too. I'm all she has left.

She wiped a tear away, looking back at me. She never cried around me. She was always trying to be strong for me, even though I didn't realize it. Cassie continued giving directions until we reached the cabin.

Cassie: This is it

Thomas nodded, Listening to their stories. "I promise you I will keep you both safe." Thomas said. Nodding to both girls. "We might as well get inside as soon as possible.

After Cassie unlocked the cabin, Thomas started unpacking the car, piling all the supplies they had in the middle of the living room, then parking the car in the garage. "You two take the Master bedroom, I'll take one of the other ones." Thomas said walking around the house. The house was... Big. Twl story, three bedroom, and an indoor pool. Nice.

He grabbed his bags, and climbed the stairs to the second story, and finding the guest room, placing all of his stuff on the bed, and examining the room.

"I promise you I will keep you both safe."

Cassie: Thank you. I should just warn you that Megan probably will avoid you. It's nothing personal. She has a fear of getting close to people. She'll probably talk to you more after a while.

After an hour and a half we arrived at the cabin. Cassie shook me awake.

"We might as well get inside as soon as possible."

I grabbed as much as I could from the truck, and helped Thomas carry it inside. I kept quiet, avoiding eye contact with him. I was pretty strong, so I helped carry some of the heavier items, but some of them were too big.

"You two take the Master bedroom, I'll take one of the other ones." I nodded and Cassie went to the rooms to unpack. Meanwhile, I grabbed a toolbox and went outside to get some wood to board up the windows. Fortunately, our cabin relied on solar energy, so we could keep meat cold still. I quickly got to work.

Thomas looked around the room, re-arranging the furniture so that there was a large open space in the middle, so that if they needed to, they could pile supplies in there.

After he complete that task, he walked down to the shed, and grabbed some boards with Megan, and began to board up some windows, so that no one could enter the house, after a few minutes of toiling with that, He began work on a barricade for the front door, moving some chairs so that the main entrance was obstructed, and entering as an infected would be difficult, that took him about thirty minutes to finish, and afterwards, he walked to the Master bedroom.

"Hey Cass, is there anything I can do to help you down here?" He asked, poking his head into the doorway, half smiling.

I looked up as Thomas came into the shed, taking some wood. "Thanks," I said quietly, working with him in silence to board up the windows. It wasn't that I didn't like him; I just wasn't in a talkative mood. I remembered working on stuff around the house with my dad, fixing the roof, building a fence, plumbing. He taught me a lot. God I missed him. I gave Thomas a small smile, hoping he realized that my problem wasn't with him.

I finally finished and went to their room.

"Hey Cass, is there anything I can do to help you down here?"

I couldn't help but smile. I could usually spot chemistry before the people involved even knew they had any. "You know, maybe I'll stay in the next room. Give you two some privacy." I walked into my room. It was filled with books, every wall a bookshelf completely full. I jumped into the bed with a book, smiling.

*****

Cassie: You know, my shoulders are really sore. Would you mind massaging them?

She smiled at him sweetly. He was cute in a rugged sort of way.

Cassie: And then maybe I could give you a massage in return?

Thomas was slightly shocked about her request. "Sure." He said, walking into the room, and sitting next to her, and moving his hands to her shoulders. "Just tell me if I hurt you." He said, pressing his fingers into Cassies shoulders.

"How long has his family owned this cabin?" He asked, looking over Cassie, he tried to not stare, but Cassie was very cute.

(OOC: Sorry for a short post. Hard to write long posts during dialog)

"Sure." Cassie smiled as he sat down on the bed beside her. "Just tell me if I hurt you." She closed her eyes and relaxed, sighing as he massaged her back. "Thank you."

"How long has his family owned this cabin?"

"Since I was a little kid. We'd come here a lot. Learned how to use a gun here too, which should be useful. Megan loves this place. She'd always be excited to come up here and shoot or read, enjoy nature. I think being up here will help her a lot." Cassie smiles and looked back at him. "Do you want me to give you a massage now? And tell me a bit about yourself?@

"Sure thing." He said, laying down on his chest on the bed. "My family grew up in Washington, But we moved to the now infected city, My brother Frank and I are real close, I can't believe he would just leave." He said, a frown on his face.

"My Father was a drunk, He never remarried after the divorce, and died a few years ago, my mother remarried this asshole named Steve, I am actually just visiting them this weekend, Same with Frank, just a little family reunion." He said, continuing to explain his story.

"If there was anything that my father taught me when he wasn't drunk, It was survival, and hunting. At the age 10, I knew how to hit a deer from 100 yards away, which will come in handy if we run out of supplies." He said, sighing.

"Sure thing." Cassie smiled as he laid down. Immediately, her fingers began kneading his shoulders. "My family grew up in Washington, But we moved to the now infected city, My brother Frank and I are real close, I can't believe he would just leave."

"Maybe he left the house before the infection started. He's probably wondering how you're doing right now. He'll be fine," she said, her voice soft and reassuring, trying to give him some comfort.

"My Father was a drunk, He never remarried after the divorce, and died a few years ago, my mother remarried this asshole named Steve, I am actually just visiting them this weekend, Same with Frank, just a little family reunion." Cassie didn't know anything about his family life, but she realized it must have been rough, a lot harder than her life. She wondered if his mother and her boyfriend were alright. Hopefully the mother was.

"If there was anything that my father taught me when he wasn't drunk, It was survival, and hunting. At the age 10, I knew how to hit a deer from 100 yards away, which will come in handy if we run out of supplies."

"I know Megan loves to shoot as well. She's much better than me though. Maybe you could give me some lessons sometime." She laid down beside him. "Everything will be alright."

A hand touched his cheek, and she smiled at him

As soon as her hand began to push into his back, his muscles unstiffened, and he instantly began to relax. "That feels, amazing." He said moaning into the pillow.
He listened to what she had to say, and the reassurance that she gave him made him feel a little better.

When she laid down next to him, he gave her a light smile, and when she brushed his face, his face burned, and he was sure he was smiling like a fool. That being said, he had obviously developed a crush on Cassie. He grabbed her hand genitally, and brushed it in his hand. "I promise you I will get you and your sister out of here alive." He said, looking deep into her eyes.

Cassie grinned and moved a little bit closer. She stroked his cheek as she planted her lips on his, kissing him deeply. She removed her jacket and smiled at him. "You know Thomas, you're really hot. Ad you saved me and my sister. So I think you deserve a bit of a reward for that." She wrapped her arms around him and pulled him close. "But only if you're okay with it."

He rubbed his fingers lightly against the cool skin of her arm, enjoying the feel. He kissed her back after she pulled him close, signalling he had no objections, and rolled her over, so that he could remove his jacket, and shirt, revealing his muscular build.

"I wouldn't consider this as a favor." He chuckled, leaning down for another kiss. "But, mutual desire." He said using his foot to close the nearby door, insuring that they had proper privacy. He continued his affection, by rolling up the bottom of her shirt slightly, and kissing her belly, then movingher shirt to just below her breasts, massaging the skin that was directly undernieth, teasing her. "Tell me if I am going to fast." He said, making sure she was comfortable.

Cassie watched as he rolled her onto her back and removed his jacket and shirt. She touched his chest, realizing he was pretty strong, looking at him. He was breathtaking, and she could hardly speak, smiling up at him.

"I wouldn't consider this as a favor." He chuckled, leaning down for another kiss. "But, mutual desire." She cloed her eyes as his lips He met hers. Her body felt hot and she gasped softly. A shiver ran down her smine as he kissed her stomach. She closed her eyes smiling. "Tell me if I am going to fast."

She just looked up at him and smild. "This is perfect."
